Well it's finally here, the day of the U.A. Entrance exams. Momo came along to cheer me on today, she also brought lunch for the two of us.
We are waiting for Chisa to show up, because Momo isn't supposed to be here today. Without an escort, she isn't allowed on campus.
I wonder how long she is going to take, I ask myself. The person in question, comes from behind the two of us and says "Alright Izuku, no time to talk."
She starts dragging Momo off with her, leaving me speechless until she yells out "We will be in the Nurse's office when you are off for lunch."
Well at least the two of them are getting along. Momo has been coming over to the Aizawa residence for training. The first session they had together I was a little worried, but that only earned me a smack to my head from being distracted.
"Deku!" I hear someone yell out behind me. I turn around and there's Kacchan staring at me with fire in his eyes.
"Hey Kacchan" I say waving my hand at him.
"You better pass Deku."
"I will, I'm going to aim for 1st" I say with determination in my eyes.
"I'm going to be first Deku."
"Only time will tell, Kacchan" I say holding out my fist, which he raises his own to bump mine.
Kacchan walks off, while I look up at the familiar building that is U.A. After being lost for a few moments I head off after Kacchan.
While walking I think, huh wasn't this where I met Uraraka?
I don't get time to answer my own question, because my foot slams into a crack in the pavement causing me to start falling.
Ugh… this is not happening again, I think as I push my arm down below me. As my arm reaches the ground, I kick my legs up causing me to flip in the air.
I land with my feet on the ground and look around for my backpack that fell during my acrobatics. I pick it up and put it back on, before turning to continue walking inside.
"Wow, that was amazing!" someone exclaims, which causes me to stop and turn my head.
Oh it's Uraraka…. "Hi there" I say.
"Hi, that was so cool. Are you in gymnastics?"
"No, I practice martial arts."
"Oh cool. I saw that you were going to fall and was going to catch you, but it looks like that wasn't necessary."
"No it wasn't, but I appreciate the concern. My name is Izuku Midoriya by the way."
"Oh right, my name is Ochaco Uraraka. Isn't this whole thing, like super nerve wracking?"
"I'm sure we will do fine" I say confidently.
"Yeah hope so… anyway we better get going."
"Yeah" I agree and we both head inside.
After many twists and turns I arrive at a classroom full of students. Looks like I spent too much time outside and almost everyone else got in here before me.
I go sit down in my assigned seat and take out my testing materials, while waiting for the Written exam to being.
After 10 minutes a teacher comes in and says "Alright students, here is the first part of your Written Exam. Those in the front come up and grab enough for the yourself and the ones behind."
We do as instructed and as those in the front row get back to their seats, the teacher says "Now don't start the exam until I say so. You will be given 50 minutes to finish each section of the exam and in between you will have 10 minutes to rest."
All the sheets are handed back and we wait eagerly for the exam to begin. Finally the sound we have all been waiting "You may begin."
I start going through the questions one by one until all of them are answered. I should probably look it over once to make sure they are correct, I think to myself.
I go over the questions once more to make sure they are right and after doing so I flip my paper upside down.
I look up only to realize that there are still still 18 minutes left for this section. Well not much else to do, but wait.
The teacher was surprised at first, but continued looking over the students to make sure they didn't cheat.
This goes on for several more times before the Written Exams are finally over and we are given a half hour for lunch.
I head to the Nurse's office to have lunch with Momo. I find her sitting alone in the Nurse's office, which was odd. I asked her about it and she said Chisa wanted to give us some alone time.
Honestly Chisa can be a real pain, but she is also very considerate sometimes. Momo hands me a bento, which I'm happy to receive.
Honestly when I first found out she could cook, I was surprised. I didn't think she needed to learn how to, considering her family is quite well off.
I did ask when she learned and I found out it was shortly before my hospital visit.
I opened it up to find rice, tomatoes, eggs and little hot dogs shaped like bunnies. I quickly ate lunch and then we chatted for a while.
Momo asked how well I think I did and I told her I think I scored high in the written.
When it came close to the end of my break I gave Momo a quick hug before heading off to the auditorium and find my seat.
I see a few familiar faces around and I wave to them. Some time later the lights start turning on and right after we hear "What's up U.A. candidates?" coming from the stage.
It looks like it's Present Mic, he has his back turned to us as he continues talking "Thanks for tuning into me, your school DJ."
He turns around and throws his arms in front of him saying "Come on and let me hear ya."
I feel a little bad that no one said anything last time so I yell out "Woo!"
He shoots a thumbs up in my direction before saying"I like your spirit kid, but I guess I should skip right on to the main show. Let's talk about how this practical exam is gonna go down oookay."
"Are you ready?!" he asks yelling out.
This time I remain silent, so he can get to the point.
"Like your applications said. Today you rocking boys and girls will be out there conducting 10 minute mock battles, in super suburban settings" he says and then a bunch of colored blocks with letters showing the battle centers appear on the screen behind him.
"After I drop the mic here, you'll head to your specified battle centers, sound good" he continues while waving his arms around.
I look down and notice I managed to get the same battle center that I did before, battle center B.
"Okay?!" he yells out.
I wonder what the chances of that were, maybe it's destiny.
"Okay, okay. Let's check out your targets. There are three types of faux villains in every battle center. You'll earn points based on their level of difficulty, so better choose wisely. Your goal in this trial. Is to use your Quirk to raise your score, by shredding these faux villains like a mid-song guitar solo."
"But check it" he says pointing out at us "Make sure your keeping things heroic. Attacking other examinees is a U.A. no-no, you dig?"
"Excuse me sir, but I have a question" someone says while standing up and raising their hand. Huh that's Iida isn't it?
"Hit me" Present Mic says.
The light shines on that person and it really was Iida.
"On the printout, you've listed 4 types of villains, not three" Iida says holding up a piece of paper before continuing "With all due respect, if this is an error on official U.A. material, it is shameful. We are exemplary students, we expect the best from japan's most notable school. A mistake such as this won't due."
"Good eye on you examinee number 7111" Present Mic says while giving a thumbs up to Iida "Thanks for calling in with your request."
The screen changes showing the 4th type of faux villain, which causes me to remember my rocky start, ugh.
"The 4th villain type is worth 0 Points, that guy is just an obstacle we'll be throwing in your way. There's one in every battle center, think of it as a hurdle you should try to avoid. It's not that it can't be beaten, but there's….. Kinda no point."
He chuckles before shooting his left hand into the air and says "I recommend my listeners try to ignore it and focus on the ones top of the charts."
Iida bows and says "Thank you very much, please continue" before the light fades away from Iida.
"Oh, so it's kinda like traps you have to get by in games" I hear from one side and "The whole thing is like a video game" from the same area.
Present Mic waves his hands in front of him saying "That's all I've got for you today. I sign off with a little present, a sample of our school motto. As general Napoleon Bonaparte once laid down… A true Hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes."
He nods his head while continuing "Mhmm now that's a tasty salad bite, you ready to go beyond?" he waves his hands in the air yelling "Let's hear a Plus Ultra!"
I clench my fists seeing that logo and he says "Good Luck, hope you practiced more than just books."
All of the students get up and leave to board the bus for their assigned battle centers. I calmly walk to my bus and get on, while waiting for it to arrive at battle center B.
