Chapter 44 - Chapter 44

Justice League

Deep in the heart of the Batcave, the Justice League had gathered around Batman's central console, the dim glow of the monitors illuminating their serious expressions. The Dark Knight had done what he never thought he would—he shared access to the Heroes Chat Group with the rest of the team.

Superman crossed his arms. "So, let me get this straight. You got recruited into an interdimensional chat group… and didn't tell us?"

Wonder Woman raised an eyebrow. "More importantly, why you?"

The Flash, aka Barry Allen, threw his arms up. "Exactly! That's what I want to know! Out of all of us, why does he get the cool universe-hopping, meme-sharing, reality-breaking chatroom? I mean, I'm fun! I'm friendly! People like me! But nooo, let's give it to the guy who broods in the dark and refuses to share his Bat-snacks!"

Batman didn't even look up. "You're too impulsive."

"Impulse is literally my brand, Bats," Flash shot back, hands on his hips. "And I'm way faster at texting than you!"

Aquaman smirked. "Does the group even know what humor is? Because if Batman's representing us, they probably think we're all emotionally stunted crime-fighting robots."

Cyborg leaned in, scanning the chat. "Yo, are these usernames for real? 'Dragon King'? 'Holy Grail'? 'Ruin Princess'? Wait—'Emperor of Mankind'?! Who the heck is this guy?! Sounds like a Warhammer 40K character."

The screen was filled with messages, most of them absurd yet concerning.

Naruto: "Good news, guys, I have taken over Izuku's and Gon's world. Soon, I will get Luffy's and Tsuna's."

Superman paled. "He just took over two universes?!"

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) whistled. "And he's going for two more. That's… concerning."

Flash read the latest meme-filled conversation and groaned.

Izuku: "The internet doesn't care about anything. If the world was ending, their reaction would be, 'Finally, the cure to my depression.'"

Tsuna: "If I kill time, will I become immortal?"

Gon: "The first guy to milk a cow—what was he trying to do?"

Ichigo: "If you're clean after a shower, why do towels get dirty?"

Luffy: "If two vegans argue, is it still called beef?"

Issei: "Will we ever know if traps are gay?"

Gohan: "If Cinderella's shoe fit perfectly, why did it fall off?"

Barry blinked. "…I need to be in this group."

Batman smirked for the first time that day. "You couldn't handle it."

"Oh, come on!" Flash whined. "You're telling me you fit in with these guys? The guy who took over entire universes? The dude who can erase people from history? The guy asking existential cow-milking questions?"

"I blend in better than you would," Batman said simply.

Superman rubbed his temples. "Bruce, are you sure these people aren't dangerous?"

"They are," Batman admitted. "But that's why I'm here."

"Sounds to me like they picked you so that you wouldn't be the threat," Aquaman snorted.

Flash slumped onto a chair, still pouting. "This is so unfair. I bet they have crazy cool fights and insane banter. Meanwhile, I'm stuck here dealing with Captain Cold while you get to chat with planet-busters and immortals!"

Batman simply leaned back and continued scrolling. "Try not to get jealous, Barry. It's not a good look."

Flash groaned dramatically. "Unbelievable. This is exactly why Batman doesn't deserve the fun stuff!"

Superman crossed his arms, his brows furrowed. "So, he's a conqueror. He's expanding his empire across worlds."

"He hasn't shown signs of tyranny, but that's a fine line," Wonder Woman added. "His words suggest a desire to build something stable, but conquest, no matter the intention, is always dangerous."

Batman remained quiet, his analytical mind processing every bit of information. His fingers hovered over the keyboard as he accessed the chat logs. "From his demeanor, he seems like a good person, but with power like his, that can be easily faked. What matters are his actions."

"Well, those actions include taking over entire universes," Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, muttered. "That doesn't sound very 'good guy' to me."

"But no red flags otherwise," Cyborg pointed out. "No enslavement, no mass destruction. It's like he's just… taking over and running things better."

"That's still a slippery slope," Superman countered.

Flash, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, suddenly spoke up. "There's something else. Batman, tell them about the VR system."

Batman nodded. "When I accessed the chat group, I was granted unlimited access to a virtual reality network created by Naruto's empire. It's… unlike anything I've ever seen. The level of technology surpasses even Apokoliptian advancements in some areas. From what I can tell, he's gaining power for a fight—one he hasn't disclosed to the others in the group."

Silence followed.

"If he's preparing for a war… then against whom?" Wonder Woman asked.

"Or what," Aquaman added darkly.

Just as the discussion grew tense, Naruto appeared from the phone screen.

The League reacted instantly—Superman tensed, Wonder Woman gripped her lasso, Green Lantern's ring glowed, and Flash took a ready stance. But Batman remained still. He knew Naruto was coming.

The blonde man stepped onto the Batcave floor as if emerging from a portal of swirling energy. His golden eyes gleamed with intelligence, and his aura radiated power beyond comprehension. Despite his casual stance, there was something immense about his presence, like standing next to a star.

"Man, I was wondering when you guys would start questioning things," Naruto said with a grin, his voice filled with amusement but also sharp awareness. His gaze swept over the League. "I take it you have concerns about me?"

Batman was the first to speak. "You've been conquering worlds, Naruto. We need to know why."

Naruto sighed, folding his arms. "I figured you'd want answers. Alright. The first reason is a real, immediate threat—the Otsutsuki Clan. They're an alien parasitic race that feeds off worlds. I've fought them, I've killed them, but they're not stopping. They see the multiverse as a buffet."

Superman narrowed his eyes. "And your empire is preparation for that?"

"Yes," Naruto confirmed. "I need power, resources, and unified strength to stop them before they spread beyond control. If you think I'm being paranoid, trust me—if they come to your Earth, not even you would be enough, Clark."

Superman frowned at the casual use of his name.

"But that's not my only reason," Naruto continued. "I also want to create a utopia. A world where people live without fear, without suffering. That's the empire I'm building." His golden eyes met Batman's. "You, of all people, should understand that."

Batman said nothing. He did understand.

The League members exchanged glances. This wasn't some warlord. This was a man with a mission, one that blurred the lines of heroism and conquest.

Naruto turned, scanning the heroes before him. His gaze lingered on Flash and Green Lantern.

"The Speed Force…" Naruto mused, looking at Barry. "It's connected to something beyond time and space. A force that's pure movement, limitless in potential." He smirked. "That's something I want to learn more about."

Flash blinked. "Uh… should I be flattered or scared?"

Naruto then turned to Hal Jordan. "And the Emotional Spectrum… emotions given form, shaping reality itself. That's also interesting."

"Yeah, well, hands off my ring," Hal muttered, though he was intrigued by the sudden interest.

Naruto smiled. "Don't worry, I'm not here to steal. I'm just curious. Maybe you guys could learn something too. The multiverse is a lot bigger than you think, and I have a feeling you'll all be seeing more of it soon enough."

The Batcave was eerily silent as Naruto's words hung in the air. The Justice League stood before him, their faces a mix of skepticism and contemplation. Despite the casual way he spoke, the gravity of his words was undeniable.

"Why are you so worried?" Naruto asked, his golden eyes gleaming with amusement. "It's not like I'm ruling any other universe at this point. I'm letting the chat members choose their own path. I already said I wouldn't intervene unless absolutely necessary."

His words were calm, but they carried a weight that not even Superman could ignore.

Batman narrowed his eyes. "That doesn't change the fact that you're enabling them."

Naruto shrugged. "And yet, you don't stop humanity from making its own choices. I don't force anyone to follow me. I simply give them the tools to grow." He glanced at the Batcomputer, where the chat logs remained open. "And speaking of gifts, I find it interesting that you gave me two of your own."

He turned his gaze toward Flash and Green Lantern. "The Speed Force and Emotional Spectrum… truly remarkable things. By granting me access to the chat, Batman has unknowingly shared their secrets with me. I must say, they are fascinating."

Flash's mouth opened in shock. "Whoa, whoa, wait! So you just—what?—absorbed knowledge about the Speed Force from Batman being in the chat?!"

Naruto smirked. "More or less. Don't worry, I don't plan on stealing your powers. But…" He let the word linger, as if tasting its significance. "Since Batman has given me these two gifts, I owe him two gifts in return."

The League stiffened at his words.

Naruto clasped his hands together. "I will allow you to purchase anything of similar value from my empire. Whether it's technology, knowledge, or power—consider it my way of maintaining fairness."

Superman's eyes narrowed. "And if we refuse?"

Naruto tilted his head, looking genuinely curious. "Then you continue struggling in ignorance while the Otsutsuki prepare their invasion."

Silence.

Wonder Woman's expression hardened. "Are you saying the Otsutsuki are already here?"

"More than that," Naruto replied. "There's an Otsutsuki group stationed on Earth. Probably in deep preparation, waiting for the right moment to strike. It won't be years before they make their move. And none of you will be able to stop them."

His words sent a chill down their spines.

"That's a bold claim," Green Lantern said, though his tone lacked confidence. "You sure you're not just trying to manipulate us?"

Naruto's expression darkened, his voice dropping in intensity. "The higher forces of this reality aren't willing to break the balance with the Otsutsuki. They won't intervene. They never do." His gaze lingered on Superman. "You of all people should understand what it means to be abandoned by forces that claim to be higher than you."

Superman's jaw clenched. The destruction of Krypton, the apathy of the cosmic entities… he did understand.

Batman, ever the strategist, processed the information. If what Naruto said was true, then Earth was already a target. If higher forces refused to intervene, the League would be left to face an enemy they didn't understand—an enemy even he might not be able to counter.

"You're asking us to trust you," Batman finally said.

Naruto smiled. "No. I'm asking you to make a choice. Ignore me and face annihilation alone—or work with me and survive. Either way, I'll keep building my empire."

His golden eyes flickered with something ancient. Something powerful.

The Justice League stood at a crossroads.

Would they resist? Or would they accept the hand of a conqueror who claimed to be their only hope?

The Justice League remained silent as Naruto spoke. The weight of his words was undeniable, his presence overwhelming even in the heart of the Batcave. He stood before them, not as an enemy, nor fully as an ally, but as a force beyond their control.

"I will be leaving now," Naruto continued, his golden eyes scanning the gathered heroes. "If you want to see how I rule, then keep playing the game in the VR world. Once all members have reached the required level, the game world will progress to stage two. And what you really want to see is stage three—where I become emperor."

A quiet tension filled the room.

He turned his gaze to Batman. "Second, I will help you make the first choice for a gift."

Before the Dark Knight could respond, a shimmering interface appeared in front of him, as if reality itself had glitched for a moment. Two choices lay before him.

Become a Divine Saint.Receive a mech suit designed for a Divine Saint.

Even without asking, Naruto answered the question forming in their minds. "The power of a Divine Saint is not something to take lightly. At minimum, their power reaches the level of a star. They can tear apart celestial bodies with ease, bend the very laws of reality with their will. However, if you do not wish to personally wield such power, then the mech suit will allow you to operate at the same level while keeping your own humanity intact."

The League exchanged glances, uncertainty flashing across their faces. The implications were staggering. A single individual with that kind of power could shift the balance of their entire reality.

Batman's fingers hovered over the interface, his mind racing. The strategist in him understood the value of power, but he also recognized the weight of responsibility that came with it.

Naruto watched him, a smirk playing on his lips. "This is just the first choice, Batman. I am merely offering you a taste of what's to come."

The League remained silent.

A choice had been placed before them—one that could alter the fate of their world forever.

Batman's gaze remained fixed on the interface, his mind rapidly analyzing the implications of both choices. The power of a Divine Saint was tempting, but he knew better than to rush into something so drastic. Humanity was his anchor, his core. Giving it up, even for strength, was not an option—at least, not yet.

His hand moved with deliberate precision. He chose the suit.

"I'll take the mech suit," Batman said firmly. "I'm not ready to forgo my humanity, and with the suit, others can use it if necessary."

Naruto grinned, clearly pleased with the decision. "Good choice, Bats. I expected nothing less from the world's greatest detective."

As soon as the words left his mouth, a portal of golden light materialized beside him. From within, a massive construct slowly emerged, hovering effortlessly in the air.

The suit was unlike anything the Justice League had ever seen. Standing at nearly nine feet tall, it radiated a celestial glow, as if forged from the very essence of the cosmos. Its armor was sleek, yet imposing—obsidian black with deep blue veins of energy coursing through its surface. The chest plate bore an insignia that shifted and pulsed, constantly adapting to the wielder's presence.

The wings—if they could even be called that—were formed of pure energy, capable of transforming into weapons or shields at will. The arms housed micro-star reactors, granting limitless energy, while the core itself held a fragment of a collapsed star, ensuring unparalleled power.

The helmet, forged in an angular yet refined design, gave the impression of an all-seeing warrior. Its visor shimmered between crimson and violet, adjusting to battlefield conditions in real-time.

A soft hum filled the Batcave as the mech hovered inches above the ground, awaiting its new master.

Naruto crossed his arms. "This is no ordinary suit, Batman. It's not just armor—it's a living extension of your will. It adapts to your fighting style, learns from your battles, and evolves over time. At its base level, it can match star-level threats with ease."

Batman's analytical mind was already working through the details. "What's its power source?"

Naruto smirked. "A star fragment. It draws infinite energy from higher-dimensional space. No fuel, no downtime. It will fight as long as you command it."

The League was silent. Superman, who had remained neutral so far, spoke up. "And the weapons?"

Naruto chuckled. "Oh, you're gonna love this part. Plasma edge blades, energy manipulation fields, absolute defense mode, time dilation reflexes, gravitational field nullification, and my favorite… the Zero Point Cannon."

"Zero Point Cannon?" Flash repeated, eyes wide.

"A weapon that collapses a localized section of space to absolute zero. Anything caught inside? Gone. Not even atoms remain." Naruto snapped his fingers. "Like that."

The silence in the Batcave was deafening.

Batman stepped forward, placing a hand on the mech. He could feel it—a pulse, a connection. The suit was waiting for him. Accepting him.

"How do I activate it?"

Naruto smirked. "Just say the command."

Batman exhaled. His mind processed the implications. A tool like this in the wrong hands… but in his hands? A game changer.

His lips parted, and with a voice full of determination, he spoke.

"Engage: Saint Mode."

The suit responded instantly. Light surged as it unfolded around him, pieces locking into place with seamless precision. Within seconds, Batman was no longer just a man in a suit—he had become something more.

The League watched in awe.

Naruto gave an approving nod. "Now that is a sight to see."

With a final smirk, he turned away. "Enjoy your new toy, Batman. You're gonna need it."

And with that, Naruto vanished, leaving the Justice League to ponder what had just happened.

The Batcave remained silent, the only sound being the faint hum of power emanating from the Divine Saint-Class Mech Suit. Batman stood tall within the armor, its presence exuding an aura of overwhelming authority. Every movement he made was smooth, almost weightless, yet the power behind it was undeniable.

Superman, arms crossed, studied the suit carefully. His enhanced vision scanned its structure, trying to determine the limits of its capabilities. But the more he looked, the more unsettling the truth became.

"This thing… could rival me."

Diana, Princess of Themyscira, tilted her head slightly, eyes narrowed. "This is beyond any mortal craftsmanship. It's like a divine artifact, but engineered rather than forged." She could sense the energy flowing through it—something ancient yet unfamiliar.

The Flash, who had been frozen in awe, finally broke the silence. "Okay. Okay. Hold up. THIS is what you get for joining that crazy chat group?!" He gestured wildly at Batman's armored form. "I mean, I was expecting, like, maybe a fancy Batarang or some cool gadgets, but THIS?!"

Green Lantern whistled low. "That's a war machine. No—correction—that's a war immortal in armor form." His ring flickered as it tried to scan the suit's energy readings, but the data was incomprehensible. The suit existed outside the ring's knowledge base.

Cyborg, eyes glowing as he interfaced with the Batcave's systems, let out a surprised chuckle. "Yo, Bats. This thing is rewriting my systems just by standing near it. It's like it's analyzing everything in real-time."

"Is it safe?" Martian Manhunter's voice was calm, but there was an undertone of concern. "That level of power… even in the right hands, it is a responsibility beyond comprehension."

Batman, still adjusting to the suit, flexed his hands. The motion felt natural, seamless—like he had been wearing it all his life.

"It's a tool," he finally said. His voice was the same, but there was a new depth to it, as if the suit carried an echo of his presence. "And like any tool, it depends on the wielder."

Superman nodded slowly, though there was still hesitation in his expression. "You know what this means, right?"

Batman turned his glowing red and violet visor towards him. "Yes."

Superman sighed, then smirked. "Well, I guess the Batmobile's officially obsolete."

That earned a small chuckle from the League, though the tension remained.

Diana stepped forward. "Batman, this is a power equal to the immortals. If you ever lose sight of your path—if you let this change you—we will have to stop you."

Batman met her gaze. "I know."

The weight of his words settled in the air. There was no arrogance, no denial—just the understanding that he had taken a step beyond what he once was.

Flash scratched the back of his head. "Man, now I really want into that chat group. Imagine the upgrades I'd get!"

Green Lantern chuckled. "Honestly? I'm kind of scared to see what you'd turn into, Flash."

Batman turned, deactivating the suit with a single thought. The armor compacted, folding seamlessly into a sleek, compact storage form on his back, appearing as nothing more than a black, metallic mantle.

He looked at his team, eyes steeled with resolve. "This suit is a means to an end. I won't let it change me. But I will use it to ensure that when the Otsutsuki come… we will be ready."

Superman nodded. "Then we stand with you."
