Many students in the food hall had taken notice of the fight that was about to break out between the two twins and started gathering around them.
All of them started whispering about the two of them trying to figure out who they were. Other opportunists saw this as a chance to make some money off the fight and started betting.
Noticing the crowd gathering around them caused the two brothers pride to swell up somewhat and only lit their intense desire to battle even more.
Huang Da made the first move, launching himself towards Huang Bo, he clenched his fist as he threw out a punch.
Wu Yu who saw this only shook his head in disappointment but sighed as he understood that they were just normal village kids to begin with.
Though Wu Yu wouldn't call himself a unarmed combat expert, he still had fought many opponents who were considered skilled in the field and dominated each one in a one on one fight using nothing but his fists.
This meant a lot considering that fighting unarmed wasn't even what he was best at. True he had a few losses here and there but those were against the true masters of unarmed combat and he learned a lot from them.
What Huang Da was doing right now was the most barbaric way of fighting, no skill, no technique, nothing, just a simple and brute way of fighting.
He was just relying on his spirit to do the work for him, sure this might work in a battle against someone far weaker than him but against those who were equally or more powerful than him it was the most fatal mistake.
Luckily his brother wasn't any better than him and put up his arms to block the punch while closing his eyes, showing that he was afraid of getting hurt.
The punch landed on the arm guards of Huang Bo's armor causing him to slide back a little as he kept his guard up waiting for the next punch to land.
Sure enough, Huang Da followed up his punch with another one causing Huang Bo to slide even further back but he didn't seem to be taking any damage at all.
Huang Da yelled out, "dammit you turtle, stop hiding in your shell and fight me!" causing Huang Bo in turn to retort, "Hah, I bet your fists are hurting after hitting my armor and now you're trying to provoke me, like I'll fall for that!"
Like this, the fight was more like a game of wack a mole, only in this version, the mole was a complete coward afraid to come out of it's hole and the hammer was just aimlessly hitting every goddamn hole like it was working.
The fight that Wu Yu had anticipated like a great show quickly turned into a bad movie that was so badly scripted it became an eyesore to watch so he just focused on eating.
Many of the student who had also anticipated the fight to be more exciting grew bored and impatient causing them to boo the two brothers and call them out on their boring fight.
Insult after insult dampened the two brothers mood but in the process also riled them up into fighting harder.
The two were also repeatedly insulted each other, trying to cause the other to make some kind of mistake so they could use it to their advantage but other than fighting a little harder, nothing changed.
Eventually the fight had gotten so boring, many of the spectators couldn't stand it anymore and just left assuming that the fight would continue like this forever.
As Wu Yu was finishing the last of his food, something in the fight had finally caught his attention. Huang Da exclaimed, "Azure poison strike!"
The image of the winged serpentine appeared behind Huang Da again but this time it looked a lot more life like and it started to coil around his arm.
Huang Bo who saw what his brother was doing immediately tensed up and also decided to use his spirit ability, "aquatic bulwark!"
When Huang Bo yelled out his spirit ability, his armor started to glow in a blue light before the light started traveling in front of him, creating a transparent blue wall.
The two brothers glared at each other while Wu Yu was closely observing the two abilities, he had some idea on what the abilities might do but he couldn't be sure until he saw them in action.
Like expected Huang Da attacked while Huang Bo defended. As the two abilities clashed against each other every one held their breath knowing that this was the deciding clash, if none of them go down after this then there's no point in staying any longer.
When the azure serpentine made contact with the transparent blue barrier an intense hissing noise was heard as the poison from the azure serpentine was slowly melting the barrier.
As the poison seeped deeper and deeper into the thick blue barrier, the barrier itself was fighting back by rapidly repairing itself, using more blue light from Huang Bo's armor.
The spectators who were watching all thought at the same time, what terrible poison!' while trembling as they thought of what that poison would do to them.
Wu Yu on the other hand had a more complicated train of thoughts, 'I can't tell how toxic that poison is since I can't tell how durable that barrier is, so the best option is...'
With a sly smile, Wu Yu suddenly jumped into the fight and immediately went for the barrier, summoning his zanpakuto spirit, he cut at the barrier.
Surprisingly, to Wu Yu, his attack did nothing at all to the barrier. Everyone was surprised to see the sudden appearance of Wu Yu joining the fight and had mixed reactions.
Some were excited to see another variable in the fight while others were enraged by his interference however most of them didn't care at all.
The two who had the biggest reactions were of course the two brothers themselves who were completely confused as to what Wu Yu was doing.
Ignoring everyone, Wu Yu summoned out Wu Ji much to everyone's surprise Wu Yu ordered Wu Ji to attack the barrier but made sure to tell it to hold back a little.
Immediately Wu Ji attacked the barrier causing it to very visibly start shaking. Wu Yu was a little surprised by how resilient the barrier was considering that Wu Yu was using 1/4 of it's power in that kick.
Wu Yu gave Wu Ji the signal to raise it's power a little more, this time it put half of it's power into it's attack. The barrier this time cracked all over and started to fall apart.
Nodding his head, Wu Yu was very satisfied about the results of his little experiment. Huang Bo's barrier was very durable, Wu Yu reckoned it could withstand the attack of someone two times as powerful as Huang Bo.
Wu Yu was also very happy to know how potent Huang Da's poison was, just being able to melt down Huang Bo's barrier like it was nothing meant that it was equally as powerful.
As for why he was so happy for the two of them? he didn't realize it but slowly these two brothers had started to grow on him and he started to see them as friends and care for them.
Though he didn't realize this now, he was starting to unconsciously show it in ways he wasn't aware of. As the barrier started breaking down, Huang Da's attack had nothing in between it and Huang Bo.
Huang Bo was scarred shitless when he saw the attack closing in on him rapidly causing him to freeze up in fear while Huang Da paled knowing he couldn't stop his attack.
Thankfully, Wu Yu was prepared and immediately yelled, "Wu Ji! stop the attack!" immediately, Wu Ji sprung into action and got in front of the attack.
Using it's body like a shied, Wu Ji stood in front of Huang Bo and took the full brunt of the attack causing it to take some minor injuries because of it's hard scales so it just brushed it off.
After that whole dramatised situation, Wu Yu walked up to the two brothers and held out his hands for them to take.
The two brothers looked at Wu Yu a little conflicted, on one side he did almost caused Huang Bo to almost die in a painful way but at the same time he was the one that saved him from such a fate.
Taking Wu Yu's hand, they both stood up at the same time and just stood there unsure of what to do. It was a very uncomfortable situation for all of them so Wu Yu spoke up.
"You guys have good spirits but it's too bad you don't have much fighting abilities." Wu Yu wanted to say something more but waited to see the brothers reactions.
They both scratched the backs of their heads embarrassingly while saying, "we can't help it, no one in our village can fight much less teach us to fight."
Wu Yu was waiting for this and offered, "then how about I teach you guys? I assure you, I can make you guys way better than you are now."
"Really? you know how to fight?" the two asked suspiciously not really believing of Wu Yu's claim.
Understanding the brothers doubts, Wu Yu offered something else, "Of course I do, how bout the two of you come at me at the same time, I'll show you the difference between us."
The brothers looked at each other and nodded, they both looked back at Wu Yu and accepted, "Fine, if you can beat the two of us we'll believe you."
Wu Yu just smiled as he created a little distance from the two brothers then provoked them, "come at me with everything you got, at least make this a challenge for me!"
It proved to work very well as the two brothers instantly got triggered and rushed at Wu yu. Huang Da came in first and threw a wild punch at Wu Yu but he just deflected the punch away from himself then pushed Huang Da away.
Huang Ba showed instantly after his brother and was looking to tackle Wu Yu to the ground but unfortunately just like his brother, he was pushed to the side.
The two were very confused about what just happened but continued to blindly attack Wu Yu, not learning at all from their past mistakes.
This scene played out for quite a while until the two brothers weren't able to get up from exhaustion and finally gave up while gasping heavily for air.
"So what do you two say? wanna learn from me?" Wu Yu sat down beside them and asked.
This was a no brainier for the two brothers as they both immediately answered, "Yes, as long as you're willing to teach us, we're willing to learn brother Yu."
Nodding, Wu Yu helped the two brothers sit on a chair then sat across from them and said, "well I'll be going now, when you recover you two can walk back to your dorms together, we'll meet up here tomorrow early in the morning so be here on time.
After saying all of that Wu Yu gave a smile that caused the two brothers to shiver before he turned in his plates then started on his way back to his dorm.
When he got back, he immediately took a shower then walked out, fully clothed this time. Before entering back into his room, he remembered something and walked to the couch.
There he found a neatly folded blanket but the girl from this morning was gone so he assumed she was back in her room and took the blanket back into his room.
After he put the blanket away, Wu Yu lit up his chandelier then took a book from the 3 Qing Guanyu's grandfather had given him to read and started his homework.
Many of the things he was reading in the book were already things he knew but he still read it as there were many terms in this world different from his other world.
Out in the living room the girl from the night before and this morning was standing in front of the couch she was on before and looked at it with a strange complexion.
Sitting down on the couch once again, she looked over at Wu Yu's room door and squinted her eyes as if she was trying to peer through it but the sudden sound of a door opening alarmed her as two distinct voices got her attention.
"Brother, isn't brother Yu just the worst? just leaving us there in the food hall?" Huang Da asked.
"Definitely, he should've at least helped us to our room before leaving us alone." Huang Bo nodded in agreement.
Strangely the two weren't arguing but were communicating completely normal. If Wu Yu had heard this, he would definitely rip out his hair in frustration, caused by the two brothers uniqueness.
The two didn't immediately notice the girl sitting on the couch but when they did, they didn't seem to care very much and just said simple greetings before heading into their rooms.
