It was mid-afternoon by the time they reached the vacation manor. As the servants bustled about, unloading the luggage and provisions, Xiao Yuhan approached his wife with a mysterious smile.
"Yun-er, do you want to stretch your legs? You must be restless after sitting in the horse carriage for so long."
Yan Qiuyun nodded enthusiastically. Xiao Yuhan whipped out something from behind his back. "Want to fly kites in the field nearby?"
"Yes!" The crown princess took the kite with delight. "Oh, Yuhan, you always remember the little things that make me happy."
Xiao Yuhan gazed at his wife with adoration. "Well of course. You're my beloved."
Standing off to the side, Wang Jingyuan and Yan Qiufeng shared a look. They've started feeding us dog food already. Xiao Yuhan turned to them with a grin.
"Miss Wang, Qiufeng, you both should join us. I had the servants pack extra kites—one for each of us."
