Chapter 2 - Qilin Spirit

Long Chen wondered why Tong Yu's appearance changed so drastically. Although he certainly played a part, the change in his eyes was caused by a different spirit.

Long Chen opened his right hand and released Tong Yu's martial soul.

Surprisingly, Tong Yu's martial soul was no longer a dog spirit. This new martial soul was a dragon with cloven hooves, antlers, eyes with thick eyelashes, and a mane that flew upwards. It's body resembled that of a horse, and had scales in a variety of colors. They are cyan, red, yellow, gold and blue, representing the five elements.

Long Chen identified this martial soul as the Five Element Qilin.

Long Chen was curious. Wasn't Tong Yu's martial soul a dog? How did it become a Five Elements Qilin?

Long Chen guessed that his martial soul had mutated after he attempted to kill himself by consuming poison. The minor Qilin bloodline in his martial soul must had awakened. It could be regarded as his martial soul's second awakening.

Long Chen then opened his left hand, releasing his own martial soul.

The Purplebrilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon appeared as giant purple dragon. Slender and well proportioned, with wings behind it, and claws under the abdomen. It's whole body was covered with crystal-like purple scales, and a pair of shining red eyes stared at the world with arrogance.

'Twin martial souls?'

Long Chen considered this a welcome surprise. Not only did it make his journey a lot easier, it also allowed him to hide his Purplebrilliant Heaven Destroying Dragon martial soul.

It would be awkward to explain how someone like Tong Yu, who's family was rooted in the Star Luo continent, somehow obtained the martial soul of the Sun-Moon Royal family. His martial soul might also alert the Dragon God to his presence.

While Long Chen was contemplating his future, two people burst into the hospital room.

Momma Tong and Father Tong entered the room. Long Chen didn't feel much connection to them, as Tong Yu and his parents relationship was pretty strained.

Tong Yu chose to go against their wishes, and spent all his time cultivating, closed up in his room. Of course, it didn't stop them from mourning his death.

The doctors told them that he was beyond help, and they felt like it was their fault for allowing him onto this path.

Now their son had miraculously risen from the grave. What more could they ask for?

While Long Chen went through an intense hug session with Momma Tong, Father Tong lectured him harshly. It didn't take long before Momma Tong joined in as well.

Long Chen went through this with a complicated expression.

You owe me for this one Tong Yu.
