After all, Long Chen wasn't actually a spawn of the Dragon God nor had he been born in the Divine Realm. He was born as a mutated snake spirit beast that eventually transformed into a dragon and ascended. Afterwards, he had chosen to follow his brethren and join the Dragon God.
With his great destructive power, Long Chen was appointed as the Ancestor of the Second Dragons and the Purple Brilliant Dragon King. He was the Dragon God's sword, and was trusted as much as the Dark Dragon King, Light Dragon King, and the mysterious Jade Dragon King.
Which is why the Dragon God bestowed such a technique upon him.
This cultivation method allows Long Chen to use his power of Catastrophe to erase the impurities in his blood, infusing it with pure life force.
The blood wave starts from the spinal cord, which forms a cycle that goes through the bones of Long Chen and his marrow. Each time it cycles through the marrow, the dragon power is absorbed and stored inside every droplet of blood.
This cultivation is opposite to that of the humans cultivation, since it cultivates one's own blood to raise their potential and strength.
