A short holiday coincided with the weekend came Diana decided we will go to Norway and enjoy a Nordic vacation. I was asleep when she woke me to have an adventure. I walked towards the dining area half asleep, my eyes refusing to open. They seem to enjoy closing when I opened them. With each step, it felt like my body was protesting. Go back to sleep on repeat. I tried to be a good sport until Edge came to my rescue. I muttered a thank you and fell face-first on the bed. No sooner I fell asleep I was woken by Hattie's butler who always annoys me. So when he tried to wake me I screamed like I had seen a serial killer and he ran away from me as though I had set him on fire. I woke up at 3 in the evening I was greeted with a roar of laughter. I had finally got Alfred to let me sleep uninterrupted. He always had a policy, if you sleep for more than three hours then you have overslept. He will use any excuse to wake you up. He won't let you go back to sleep. There are only a few techniques to convince him to leave you alone so you can sleep in peace. One of them is to punch him in the face. His nose is off-center from all the times Sembi, Edge, Benji, Dash, Fin, and Di had punched him. The other is to scream like you mean it. This was a recent discovery which meant that Lena, Max, Cole, and Ems will field test it. If this is proved to be an effective method then they will encourage others to do the same. Hattie tutted, "You are becoming a bad influence on them. You are supposed to be their mother. Convince them not to do this, please." I shook my head, "He deserves it for ruining our sleep." This earned a standing ovation from my family including GG.
We heard the doorbell so I went to see who it was. It was Angel who came here to spend some time with Diana. He joined Edge in planning a prank against an old high school buddy. I shook my head, "Boys" this earned me a hard gaze from Sembi, "This is part of our growth. Trust me we need to do these things to stay sane in the insane world." I apologized for misunderstanding the logic of men. This earned a clap from the women's section.
It was getting cold so we wore semi-wintery clothes and went for a hike. It was awesome. We heard wolves which made me and Edge smile. We have wolves for pets and we even brought our pack with us. They responded to the call and so did Edge. I burst out laughing as they answered Edge as well. We saw others who were hiking as well. They seemed surprised by the wolves. We even heard a surreal sound. We followed it to realize it the ice. Diana was holding my hand fearful when Lena explained what was going on. She said, "This is the ice singing with joy because winter was coming. Kids will come and go ice skating, and grown-ups will come fishing. It will be like a festival. So the ice happy to part of the fun." This earned a cheer from Diana because she was scared for nothing. She let go of Angel and walked towards the ice and sat down to listen carefully. She declared, "The ice wants us to go over there where we can skate." We followed Fin's lead and found a place where the ice was thick and ice skated till we got exhausted. We did ice fishing and grilled the catch in the woods. We stayed till sundown and it took much convincing from Angel to get Diana to come home. She poked me, "Is this my new daddy?" I smiled, "Yes" she was so happy and supercharged that we got her to sleep at 2 in the morning. Angel smiled, "I would marry you. I liked you since we were kids. You have always been my hero. So are we going on that dinner date?" I nod my head and passed out on the couch. I was woken up much after the plane had taken off. We were halfway back to the states.
