An hour passed by since Sirus left
"Did the monster really leave?"
"Y-yeah, it seems like so." Replied Jacob, He surveyed from the door, ensuring the monster truly left.
"Papa, why did you scare the monster away?" Bella responded with a frown.
Jacob completely ignores his daughter's ridiculous comment. "Have you seen anything like it? I mean. I never seen any creature that looked like that or even has the intelligence like a human." He stared at the front door with the door slightly open, his eyes peering through the gap.
Jemma cocked her head and scratched the top of her head. She came up with some ideas of what the monster may be but with the legs she saw on that monster, she didn't come up with anything. But with one idea that would make the most sense. "Maybe it's a demon, but with those legs, I'm not so sure. But only one race has those red glowing eyes."
Jacob turned around in shock as his mouth slightly widened in realisation.
"A demon?" Jacob had never seen a demon in his lifetime but everyone has heard of the demons who once ruled Ozbark.
Even the children have heard of the demons.
"Our ancestors in their lifetime never saw any other race besides the demons who are born with red eyes, and legend has it that, if you encounter a creature with red glowing eyes, then your lives soon end." Jacob took a seat where the creature was sitting before, his hands supporting his chin as he hunched his back and thought for a good 2 minutes before coming up with what the creature truly was.
He stood up as the chair dragged across the floor making a screeching sound, he slowly opened his mouth. "With the glowing red eyes, and the intense aura that creature easily emitted." He hesitated for a moment as he felt a cold wind brush across his face. "A demon entered our house. And by God's grace, we survived." He spoke in fear as he looked at Jemma and Bella and put his hands together in front of his head as he slightly bowed his head and started praising God in silence.
Jemma did the same as her heart skipped a beat when her husband said the demon entered their house.
Bella cocked her head in confusion as she didn't know what her parents were doing, in the midst of silence. She went outside and covered her eyes as the sun shone brightly at her pale skin. She looked right and left to see if she could still see the demon as she heard what it actually was. But no luck, she could only see the trees dancing in the wind and the calm river flowing beautifully.
…
"I just hope I'm heading in the right direction. Otherwise, it would be a pain in the ass to walk all the way back." Sirus continued his journey to return to his village and with hope in his heart, he had hope that his parent's at the least would be alive waiting for him at home, every night his mother would brush his long silky white hair and sing a lullaby until he fell asleep. And his dad was a cheerful man, he wasn't home often and the time he was he would often hang out with his friends. And the time he did stay at home was the best thing ever for Sirus. Laughter and joy were all you could hear and imagine, it was the perfect home for any child.
He smiled happily at the thought as he slowly started to remember the good times.
Half an hour passed by and Sirus's stomach started rumbling.
"I swear even in this world I get hungry too fast. Now that I think about it. What the hell I'm I suppose to eat? There's nothing but trees and the river I'm walking beside on." Sirus stopped in his tracks and bent down, he calmed his breathing and placed his hand on the dirt and tried listening for any animal.
2 minutes passed by and Sirus was left disappointed and dumbfounded.
"What the absolute fuck I'm I doing? I'm not Steve Irwin, fucking hell. And man I look like shit, and my hair man jeez, it's all covered in dirt and shit." Sirus puts a strain of hair in front of his nose and sniffs. "It smells like a swamp, I think I'm going to puke, why did I put it so close to my nose, demons have enhanced hearing and smell, I'm so dumb."
Sirus smacked his forehead and shook his head in disappointment. He thought of washing his hair in the river but without a brush, it would look worse, though the smell would go away likely. He looked at his hands for a moment and immediately discarded the idea.
"I'm screwed, I can survive for about a week. If I remember, though I'm not sure if demons can survive longer than humans could. It wouldn't be the first time I had to go for a day or 2 without food, this will be a piece of cake. Well, it would If my body wasn't still a child. Whatever. I will just continue walking and hope I find fruits or some kind of animal in this part of the forest."
He continued walking for 2 hours straight without taking a rest, the sun already starting to set down.
"Shit, I'm getting dizzy." His eyes wavered and he started to lose his balance, he tripped but managed to hold onto a tree. He tried to shake off the dizziness but it just made it worse. He felt as if he was going to puke his innards out.
"I...I need water, this will help me." He said with a low voice.
He turned to the river to his right and even when he was dizzy he was being careful where he placed his foot to not trip in the water and potentially get a cold. He squatted down and put both of his hands together and scooped a handful of water from the river. He was slightly surprised that the water didn't taste disgusting, he felt as if he was drinking tap water. But he ignored the thought and continued drinking. He drank 5 hands full of water before he moved his hair to one side and held it there and used his other hand to splash water on his face. He did this 3 times and walked back up the slope and continued walking.
"Ahhhh… That was refreshing. I feel better. No wonder I was so dizzy, I didn't wash my face.. All I had was eggs and bread. I got distracted at the house and for some reason didn't think of washing my face." He paused for a moment to inhale the air, he took a deep breath and exhaled it out, he felt relaxed as the air washed through his lungs. He continued walking again but he stopped as he heard a rustle in a bush at 8 o'clock. As soon he heard this sound all in his mind was the thought of food.
He glanced at the bush and tried to see what was moving, but he didn't see a thing in the dense bush. He took one step and stepped on a twig.
[Crack]
"Shit!" He cursed and heard the rustle get louder then faded away. He didn't let this chance get away and bolted towards the dense bush and jumped over it with ease with his hind legs. He saw a 4 legged animal, quite small, running at a fast pace, but Sirus's hind legs easily started catching up with it. The creature jumped over a small bush, Sirus smirked and jumped over. His eyes widened for a split second. He turned his body sharply to the left and his foot dug in the dirt and used his feet like an anchor, a trail of dirt and mud dug up behind.
There stood before him were 3 tall deer-like creatures, the little creature that Sirus was chasing hid behind the other 3. 4 tall bulging legs. With a thick body and a tall neck, a deer-like snout, but with bull-like horns coming out of the side of the creature head. The body was black and brown in colour and its eyes were the usual kind of eyes that you would see on deers. The 3 creatures were staring straight at the intruder who was hunting its young one with furious eyes.
"What the fuck are these? Some hybrid between a deer and a bull? Is that even possible?"
Sirus remembered something from when he was in school 'Shit, if I'm not mistaken, then I was walking across the midst of monster territory. If I wasn't then I wouldn't be seeing creatures looking like these. Plus what makes them more dangerous, is that they have fighting experience and intelligence.
Sirus left knee dropped to the floor and his right fist into the dirt as he lifted his head, seeing the 3 creatures towering over him.
The middle creature started to paw the ground as dirt flicked up behind, a moment later all 3 started to do the same motion.
'Shit, they're about to charge at me.' Well, a few bull deer hybrid. I can handle no problem, this isn't the first time I have fought a couple of big guys, I still know my brutal martial arts.'
He stood up slowly with a wide grin and chuckled.
"If you want a fight. I can give you a good time. And also I'm really hungry.!"
