Yan Shu didn't avoid his gaze.
He had already seen her at Yan Shu's hospital room. He knew she had access to Yan Shu's house.
Calmly, she set down her teacup.
"Yan Shu was one of the people closest to my mother. I've told you before that she is kind of my aunt."
She paused briefly before continuing.
"As for why I'm investigating..."
A faint shadow crossed her eyes.
"I'm sure you already know. My parents' deaths weren't ordinary accidents."
And this one, she just took a gamble. Over the months she has been living in the Su mansion, she has already collected tidbits. She just was not interested enough to dig further.
"Miss Su, who actually are you?" Si Junyan's gaze never left her.
His eyes locked onto hers, sharp and unwavering capable of seeing through every disguise.
It was the gaze of a hunter who had finally caught sight of something that refused to fit into the world as he knew it.
Yan Shu met his eyes without retreating. This was not enough to shed her disguise.
