[ Seraphina's POV ]
I lay on Duke's muscular chest completely naked, enjoying the way his firm abs tensed under my hand. Our bodies were sweaty and covered in bodily fluids, his fingers teased along my spine, and goosebumps rose on my skin; there was nothing better in the world.
How long were we stuck in the bedroom? It had been days, and I loved every minute of it. I missed him immensely.
"Tell me again about the dragon," Duke murmured.
He would ask me bits and pieces about things I did while we rested between rounds of lovemaking. I thought he would blame me for staying that long and getting into trouble, or point out things I did wrong, but the only thing I could sense was acceptance. He was glad we were together and that was it. My Duke was the best.
"Her name is Kiera. I bought a dragon egg at an auction, thinking it would be a catalyst to revive my father," I didn't want to mention the attack of demons... "But it hatched and now I'm back to square one."
