Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 - Cheve

The other clone in Cheve was having a easier time compared to the clone Macarath. In here, the clone already found an academy where he can enroll in. There are actually two academies in here in Cheve. The first one is for those who are rich and nobles. So obviously, Rem's clone can't attend that. Other one is for free, in short, it's for the poor townspeople in the city.

The clone didn't enroll immediately since there are no free things in the world, and he was right. Enrolling in the second academy was really free but after you graduate you'll be needing to serve one of the three knight companies for 5 years.

For Rem's clone though, he was ok with it since he can just commit suicide if he got everything he wants in here. The downside of this is his face is the exact copy of the main body so even if dies in front of the people in here, they will think that was just an act to fool them. The knights in here might hunt his main body down.

'Do I join in, or not? There are many gains if I joined here but there are also restrictions. If I joined the academy now then I'll be studying there for 10 years then another 5 years to serve as a knight.' Rem pondered as he walks around the city.

'I should just join here. Being a knight here means being a knight of Nohr which was my goal for the first clone. I'll just change roles, this clone will be the one infiltrating Nohr while the first clone will be the one to go to Norte Sagesse. That is the more reasonable plan I can think of. The first clone can go enjoy his life in Macarath for now, and he should just start a business or something. Then he can start adopting orphans for the man power we will be needing in the future. Let's just plan visiting the Rainbow Sage another time.' Rem agreed to this so he started to walk towards the Minor Cheve Knight's Academy.

The other academy that was for the rich and nobles was just beside it. Both of the academy was huge like a castle, and Rem can see many kids and teenagers wearing some armors and holding weapons walking around it. Rem even saw a few Wolfskins around but they were a minority. Thankfully, these Wolfskins seems to not have gone to their tribe at the moment so they don't know Rem yet.

Rem went inside the academy without any problems. Once he entered the castle, he saw a small front office on the side, it has a signage that reads 'Registration'. Rem went there since that was the most obvious place to go.

"Hello, I'm here to enroll as a student." Rem said as a woman looked down at her desk.

"Well, hello their kid. Where are your parents? You'll be needing them if you want to enroll." The woman said with a smile as she looks around to find Rem's parents.

"I'm an orphan, Ma'am. I don't have any parents. So, can I enroll?" Rem asked.

"Oh... How about a guardian? Do you have one? I mean the orphanage should have one, right?" The woman asked again.

"I don't have any guardian. I live with just myself." Rem answered.

"That's kind of suspicious. How can you be alive until now then if you're just by yourself? I think your lying. Please go home to your parents, kid." The woman said not believing any word that Rem said.

"Please let me enter. It's the truth that I'm living by myself. I was thrown out of my tribe because of my father's sin. My father was killed, and I was spared but was exiled by my tribe. A man told me that I can work here and get food. Please let me enroll, this is my only chance to get food." Rem pleaded as he kneels to the ground. Thankfully, there are only a few students around, and they are not paying attention to the act that Rem was showing.

"So that was the case, alright I'll enroll you. Just answer my questions, and I'll register you myself since I think you don't know how to write yet." The woman pitied Rem making an exception to enroll Rem. She can only enroll her though since Rem will have to protect himself after this.

"Thank you, Ma'am." Rem beamed as he jumps in fake happiness.

"Hehehe~ don't be excited too much. Enrolling in the academy will be tough, you might get beat up or have broken bones so be sure to be careful in the future. Now, let's go register you." Woman then started asking question from Rem like his name, age, and what type of weapon he wants to learn.

He said his name was Ian, the first name his parents was suppose to name him. Rem then answered that he wants to learn the way of the axe. He wanted the axe since he just wants too. He wants to be different from the other heroes or villains that always uses the sword.

"Are you sure you want the axe? It is considerably the heaviest weapon compared to the sword and lance. This means you'll be having a hard time hitting your opponents since it is heavy. The only advantage of an axe is the raw power it can deliver compared to the other weapons." The woman was worried that Rem might be overestimating himself. It was common knowledge in the academy that the axe is the worst type of weapon.

"Yes, Ma'am." The woman can only sigh from this but still wrote what Rem said.

"There, you are registered from now on. Follow me, I'll be touring you around the academy." The woman said as she calls over another girl which switched places with her. She then started to tour Rem around. She first showed Rem the four departments of the academy which are the sword, axe, lance, and bow.

The sword department has many students within it followed by the lance then the bow and axe. The woman then showed Rem the canteen where they can get three free meals per day. She then showed her towards the training grounds, and lastly the dorms where the student can sleep.

"This is where you'll be staying from now on. All of your roommates are axe users too so learn from them, and don't worry since I made sure that you'll be staying with nice roommates. This is the best help I can do for you." The woman said as she gives Rem a key and a bronze emblem to Rem. The bronze emblem has a sword, lance, axe, and bow carved to it with the word 'Cheve' was written to it.

"This is the key to your room, while this emblem symbolizes that you are a student of the academy so don't lose it. If you ever lost these things, just go to me and I'll give you a new one but that won't be free at that time." The woman continued while pining the bronze emblem to Rem's clothes.

"Yes, thank you Ma'am..."

"Cherry." The woman then left him at the door of his dormitory with a wave.

'What a nice person?' Rem thought as he unlocks the door of his dormitory. As soon as he opens it, he saw six boys and seven beds inside. There was 7 small cabinets beside each bed, and there was another door in the room which Rem thinks lead to the bathroom.

"Are you a new enrollee?" One of the boys asked. He looks like a teenager at the age of 13 or 14. Has black hair that was cut short, and was about 5'9 ft tall. Has an athletic build and has full of scars in his arms. He has scary looking face despite smiling at Rem making have a hard time to return the smile.

"Yes. I'm Ian. Nice to meet you." Rem tried to smile as he speaks.

"Don't scare the kid away because of your smile, Geen." Another boy said as he smacks the shoulder of the one who asked earlier. The boy looks like the same age of Geen, has red hair and has the same build and height of Geen. He also has many scars but he has an eyepatch on his left eye making him look like a pirate or a bandit.

"Both of you are scary looking guys though, big bro Warren." This time a boy that looks like a 7 year old kid waved at Rem. He has red hair like Warren and look the same.

"Don't be like that to your big brother, baby bro," Warren pouted.

"I'm just joking~" The small version of Warren replied.

"Hello, We're Axel, Alex, and Alen. We're triplets. While that was Wallace." Three boys around 5 years old waved at Rem synchronized. They all have same hair color of gray hair. The three kids was going to be handsome when they grow up, that's what Rem sees though since it was already apparent from their young faces right now.

'Weird. My roommates are a mix of ugly and handsome.' Rem thought as he waves at the six people inside the room.
