A lovely breakfast consisting of waffles, cereal, sandwiches, pancakes, orange juice, bacon, eggs, sausages, fruits and so much more was already spread out on the table when I arrived. I was beginning to wonder if the kitchen staff expected me to eat all these myself. "Maria!", I called. "yes ma'am" she answered. "Why is there so much food on the table?" I asked, wondering if Alex had invited any guests for breakfast. "It's master Alex's idea ma'am" she replied. " But why would Alex demand such a thing when he's not going to be around to eat them." I asked her slightly annoyed. "Oh, he made a comment about you losing weight." Alex!!!! - I screamed in my head. I turned to Maria and gave her a gentle smile. "Why don't you all join me for breakfast ?" "Are you sure ma'am?" she asked quietly. "Of course" I replied. "Oh don't give me that look,is not like we haven't had breakfast together before". "I know ma'am but, well, master Alex is back now and won't be pleased to know you had a meal with the staff." "Don't worry about that, I'll handle Alex while you gather the staff. We can't let all this food go to waste." "Go on now!" I rushed her. "The food is getting cold." " Okay ma'am" she answered and rushed out to get the staff. I sat at the head of the table and wondered if Alex was trying to fatten me up and then slaughter me. I mean - look at all this food!. The first person to arrive was Max( lead chef ), then John( assistant chef - 19 year old, training under Max to become a lead chef of a 5 star restaurant. I tell you, that boy got talent.) "Good morning ma'am" " Good morning beautiful" they both greeted simultaneously. " Good morning Max and good morning to you too handsome" I said sending John or rather Jonny a wink. We both had first developed the nicknames when Jonny started working here. It was actually just a way to piss Alex off because I thought Jonny was really handsome the first time I saw him and he admitted he thought I was beautiful. Over the months I guess the nicknames just stuck and I'm pretty sure we both would have it no other way. Next came Sandra ( laundry lady ) and her son - Danny. Sandra had gotten pregnant of Danny a little after college and Danny's father didn't want any responsibility of a child and had asked her to abort Danny. Sandra refused and ran to her parents who turned their backs on their last child. Having no choice Sandra carried the baby alone with no one to support her. On the day of her delivery, Alex had gone to the hospital for a checkup. Dr. Matthew ( Our family doctor ), had informed Alex of Sandra's case that day which led Alex to pay her hospital bills and bring her home. I was devastated when I saw Alex walk into the house with a woman carrying a baby. I didn't even let him explain before I ran into my room and locked the door. I cried for hours because I felt betrayed. Alex was furious . He was hurt I didn't trust him enough to let him explain. He used the spare keys of my room to get in. I can never forget how he pinned me against the wall and kissed me till I became weak. When I finally stopped whimpering and sobbing, he explained Sandra's situation. I was so embarrassed I couldn't look him in the eye. I had thrown a tantrum for no good reason. That night Alex confided in me that he wasn't ready to have kids just yet. And that he wanted me to himself for some time. I remember begging for his forgiveness and taking good care of Sandra and Danny. I won't lie, I practically fell in love with Danny. He was just so cute. That's how they became a part of this family.
