Chapter 272 - Built on Breath and Timber

The Typhoon's interior carried a stillness that didn't match its colossal frame. Every corridor stretched wider than most city avenues, constructed from green-coal-cured wood and alloy-braced beams that held fast even under the weight of the open sea. Veins of glowing conduit pulsed softly along the ceiling and floor, mana drawn not from the ship itself, but from the enormous beast it rode.

There was a hum in the walls. Not from the magic. From Nereiath. A low, rhythmic vibration, like breath held in the belly of a titan.

Crew passed quickly, giving space where they could. Their boots made little sound on the rune-etched planks. Their gazes dipped at the sight of the Lorebreakers, not out of deference, but out of orders. It was clear no one aboard had been told to welcome them. Just not to stop them.
