As the illusion in the video shattered, the audience outside the screen was left in shock. Only a handful of sharp-eyed viewers had seen through the deception—most of them had genuinely believed that Mysterio was a newly emerged superhero.
Especially when compared to the struggling Spider-Man, Mysterio had seemed powerful, reliable, and a true hero.
But now, the truth was out—this so-called new hero was nothing but a fraud!
Tony's temple throbbed with rage. "Shit! That bastard played Peter like a fool—bullying a kid like this? What a complete scumbag!"
Pepper sighed. "You know, I have this feeling… maybe Peter got dragged into this because of you. Remember Killian?"
"Hey, don't start with that! Future me left those glasses for Peter, even added a note—what else do you want? Crawl out of the grave to babysit him? If this kid had half a brain and spent less time chasing girls, he wouldn't have gotten played like this!" Tony was furious, disappointed that Peter had fallen for such an obvious scam.
Inside the Eternal Space
Peter was completely dumbfounded, mouth agape as if he could swallow an egg whole. He hadn't expected such a dramatic twist. "Fake? All of it was fake? Oh my god! I actually fell for this?!"
Pietro patted him on the shoulder. "Can't blame you. That illusion was way too realistic. Even Fury, as cunning as he is, got fooled."
Hearing that, Peter felt a little better. Even his future self was still just a teenager—getting tricked wasn't completely unreasonable.
But Fury… he was the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., a man known for his paranoia and extensive network of safe houses. If someone like him had been duped, now that was truly embarrassing.
Meanwhile, in the Video
The bar erupted in cheers. Everyone acted like they had just won a great victory, their faces filled with triumph.
At the center of it all, Quentin Beck raised his glass and stood on an elevated platform, giving a grand speech.
"To the man who brought us together—our former boss, Tony Stark!"
He sneered.
"A clown king, wrapped in wealth and technology, yet unworthy of either. Like my revolutionary holographic system—something with limitless applications—and what did Tony do? He turned it into a self-therapy gimmick and gave it a stupid name!
He took my life's work… and renamed it 'BARF'!
I told him it was a mistake! That my technology could change the world! And what did he do? He fired me. A toast to Tony!"
Mysterio was in high spirits, looking every bit like a king who had finally had his revenge after years of humiliation.
But outside the screen, the audience was stunned yet again.
No one had expected that this con artist had personal history with Tony—and that his entire team consisted of former Stark Industries employees and researchers!
Pepper gave Tony a knowing look, patting his leg as if to say, See? Told you so.
Tony gritted his teeth, feeling both frustrated and annoyed. As much as he hated to admit it, this whole scam was ultimately tied back to him.
Unable to suppress his anger, he cursed under his breath. "A bunch of pathetic clowns. Idiots. Shameless fraudsters!"
Pepper sighed. "Tony, when you were around, of course, they were nobodies. Even the people who hated you still respected your genius mind.
But now that you're gone, they're causing chaos. Honestly, you really need to work on that attitude of yours—you have no idea how many enemies you've made."
"Hmph. Like I'd care about a bunch of fools." Tony snorted, arms crossed.
Pepper just shook her head, knowing it was pointless to argue. Tony was too stubborn. If he could change, he would have already. But then again, would he even be Iron Man if he did?
Back in the Video
Mysterio was now rewarding his team and finally revealing how they pulled off this entire grand illusion.
Since Mysterio himself was fake, it was obvious that the so-called Elemental monsters were also fake. Most people had already suspected they were just holograms, but the real question was—how did they cause actual destruction? How did they fool someone as paranoid as Fury?
The answer was simple: teamwork.
Mysterio's crew consisted of former Stark Industries engineers, all of whom had access to advanced technology.
One of them had developed weaponized drones capable of simulating fire, water, and shockwave attacks—combining them with the holographic illusions made the Elementals look completely real.
Another member of the team specialized in storytelling, crafting the entire backstory of Mysterio and the Elementals. Even Beck himself admitted that the multiverse plot was ridiculous—yet people still bought into it. Clearly, the world wanted to believe in such things.
But none of this would have worked without covering all bases.
To deceive someone as paranoid as Fury, they had planted electromagnetic pulses at the attack sites, ensuring that even S.H.I.E.L.D.'s satellites were tricked.
And the final piece of the puzzle? Someone had leaked the information that Tony had left E.D.I.T.H. to Peter. That intel reached Mysterio's team, and thus, this entire elaborate scheme was set into motion.
Now, with E.D.I.T.H. in hand, Mysterio made no attempt to hide his ambition.
"Tony Stark is dead.
That means we finally have a chance.
But in this world, no one cares how smart or talented you are. No one listens to you unless you wear a cape and shoot lasers from your hands!
Well, now I have a cape. And lasers.
With our technology and E.D.I.T.H., I will become the greatest hero this planet has ever seen.
From now on, people will listen to me, not some washed-up drunk or a teenage kid.
A toast—to all of you, to Mysterio… and to Peter Parker—the poor, naive child."
Outside the Video
Tony stared at the screen, then suddenly let out a laugh—cold and sharp.
"Did he just call me a washed-up drunk? Seriously?"
