On the screen, Mysterio and Spider-Man worked together to defeat the Fire Elemental. However, Spider-Man's performance was still disappointing. Nick Fury directly criticized him and even mocked Tony Stark, saying he had chosen the wrong successor.
So when Mysterio invited Peter to a bar to relax, Peter, after drinking a few glasses of lemonade, somehow got "drunk" and impulsively took out the EDITH glasses that Iron Man had left him—offering to hand them over to Mysterio!
Seeing this, the Tony outside the screen turned green with anger, cursing, "What an... idiot! That was my inheritance for him!
"Hmph! He talked big about choosing a true successor for me, but in reality, he's just shirking responsibility. His mind is full of romance—seriously, who did he even learn that from?"
Pepper, sitting nearby with her legs crossed, raised an eyebrow at this. She gave Tony a knowing smirk, making even his thick skin feel a little uncomfortable. Coughing lightly, Tony laughed, "You're asking who he learned it from? Peter's already way better than you are! Remember how wild you used to be?"
Tony quickly cleared his throat and changed the subject. "Wait a minute… this Mysterio guy looks kind of familiar."
Pepper rolled her eyes but didn't press further. Instead, she stared at Mysterio's face on the screen for a long moment before frowning. "Let me think… I remember this guy. He came looking for you a while ago—something about holographic projection research. I'll check the records."
At that moment, the video on the screen paused, and a new question popped up:
[Who deceived Spider-Man/Peter Parker? This is a fast-response question, so please answer carefully.]
[A: Mysterio (Quentin Beck)
B: Nick Fury
C: Michelle Jones (MJ)
D: Iron Man (Tony Stark)]
In the Eternal Space, Doctor Strange studied the question and rubbed his temple, speaking in a low voice, "Deceived? Nick Fury forcing Peter to come to Prague—does that count as deception? Or is there some hidden conspiracy behind this European trip?"
Pietro shook his head, having no real clue. He resorted to simple elimination. "I think the answer is B. From the future clips, A, C, and D don't seem like liars. But that one-eyed spymaster? He's full of tricks. If there's a conspiracy, it's probably his doing."
Young Peter nodded in agreement.
Doctor Strange frowned in thought. "Something about these Elementals seems off… and Mysterio's background is suspicious, too."
Though he couldn't pinpoint exactly what was wrong, everything in the video—from the Elemental fights to Mysterio's heroics—seemed very real and detailed. Still, his instincts told him something was amiss. That hesitation made him waver on his answer, but in the end, he also chose B.
On the other side, Team A—Erik, Charles, and Logan—were also discussing. With the limited information they had, they reached a similar conclusion: Nick Fury looked shady as hell. Deception and manipulation were practically in his job description.
The countdown began. Both teams rushed to hit the buzzer. Team B was especially eager since they were behind in points, but Team A won the response time.
Magneto answered for his team: "We choose B!"
Doctor Strange's team also chose B.
As the timer ran out, the correct answer was revealed:
[The correct answer is—A: Mysterio (Quentin Beck) and B: Nick Fury!]
[Team A answered incorrectly. Player Erik lenhenserr, player Charles Xavier, and player Logan Howlett each lose 4 points]
[Team B answered incorrectly. Player Stephen Strange, player Peter Parker, and player Pietro Maximoff each lose 1 point.]
It was another multiple-choice question!
Pietro couldn't help but curse. "Shit! We got one right! Why are we still losing points? At the very least, it should be neutral—no points added or deducted!"
Peter also complained, "Forget that—why wasn't the question labeled as single or multiple choice?! That's the real problem!"
Doctor Strange frowned and muttered, "What did Nick Fury lie about? And Mysterio… is he trying to steal the EDITH glasses?!"
This question held a lot of hidden information. After the answer was revealed, the video resumed playing.
On the screen, Peter eagerly pushed the EDITH glasses toward Mysterio. What was supposed to be a powerful weapon suddenly looked like a hot potato in his hands—he was desperate to give it away.
Outside the screen, Tony's face darkened. He decided that when this pajama-wearing kid got back, he was going to give him some serious discipline.
Peter, full of enthusiasm, tried to convince Mysterio, but Mysterio waved his hands in refusal, insisting, "These glasses were Tony's gift to you. They represent his trust in you. How could I take something so precious?"
Sharp-eyed figures like Nick Fury and even Batman immediately sensed something was off. This "Mysterio" was clearly up to no good.
But the Peter in the video was too naïve to recognize deceit. Seeing Mysterio hesitate only made him more determined. He even put on the glasses himself, granted Mysterio full access, and then forced them into his hands.
"You're a soldier, a leader—you defeated the Elementals! You saved me, and you saved the world! Tony would have wanted you to have these glasses."
This time, Mysterio didn't refuse. His eyes gleamed with "emotion" as he took the glasses and put them on.
With that, Peter felt relieved. He said his goodbyes and left, probably eager to go find MJ.
But the moment he stepped out, the bar underwent a complete transformation. A shimmering blue light washed over everything like a curtain being pulled back, revealing that the lively pub was nothing but an elaborate illusion.
Mysterio spread his arms wide like an actor basking in applause. After a long pause, he laughed. "See? That wasn't hard at all! Now, someone help me get out of this ridiculous costume!"
Unlike the illusionary elements of the bar, many of the people inside were real. Their cheers made it clear that they were all part of Mysterio's team—co-conspirators in a grand deception.
