The Solar System is located within the Orion Arm, specifically on a spiral arm known as the Orion Arm.
And in this starry sky, the Sun is just a tiny place among the stars of the spiral arm, merely one of the myriad stellar systems.
Nothing special, it seems to be just a very ordinary galaxy.
Not only is it unattractive to the great empires, but even to some smaller interstellar civilizations with limited territories, its attraction is not significant.
The reason lies in the civilization of this starfield not being capable of interstellar voyages. If the speed of the spacecraft and battleships could be faster, even reaching the level of the Northern Star Domain and other such bustling areas, then perhaps the scenario would be different.
As for why the two great empires would have the idea of contending over the Solar System, it is simply because they discovered there the material they wanted, the Azure Material that they call the Star-condensed substance.
