There was some silence before. Guilt spoke up
"What the hell is Crane doing with Katherine" he snapped at Hazel's face
"Calm your horses, Guilt and don't snap at me like I'm the reason Crane's with her" Hazel snapped right back
"Can you two stop fighting" Barron butted in "we need to find out why Crane's Keeping Katherine a secret"
"Looks like we now know why he put a hold on the search" Hazel murmured
They went back to the tower, with neither of them confronting Crane, as they had decided that Guilt and Barron will keep a watch of his movements, both in and out of the tower
At the living world, Kyle and Dorin had become closer since the past few weeks, giving Dorin the confidence to start planning how to take her to the witches, on the other hand, Morgan had become close to Kyle also, seeing that Xavier wasn't always around and each time, she had concluded that he was just busy with some work and she had to spend her time with Morgan. She had gotten to know him more, and was glad she was able to receive her fathers love.
She felt complete, these past few weeks since she came to the living world, all the love she had missed since she was trapped in that mansion at the barrier and had to watch Hazel get, was now hers. Even though she had to forcibly take it, what will you expect from a fragile broken soul looking for love by all means.
"Kyle" Dorin called her, bringing her out of her thoughts as they sat at the garden talking. "I asked you something"
"Oh, I'm sorry... I was just lost for a moment there. What did you say again" Kyle apologized
"I asked if you'll be free later this evening, so we Gould stroll outside the mansion"
"Uhm... Outside the mansion?" Kyle asked to confirm because she hadn't stepped her foot outside of the mansion since she came to this world
"Yeah... Do you have any problem with that" Dorin asked feigning worry
"No, no... I just.. Its just that I don't know of Xavier will be okay with it" Kyle said trying to find an excuse not to go
"Do you not trust me? You do know that he doesn't like me that much, so he wouldn't allow you to follow me" she tried persuading
"I don't know..."
"But if you aren't okay with it, then its okay. I just wanted to stroll around town today and thought of inviting you to join me"
"I'll join you"
"Sure"
"Yes"
Later, during the evening, Kyle went out with Dorin not informing Xavier since he wasn't available, but she informed Morgan.
Elliot arrived at the mansion, some minutes before dinner, after visiting Evelyn that morning. Their relationship had been going well since the day they confessed their feelings and he couldn't be more happier. He had been at Evelyn's, since the past week, rarely coming to the mansion, do he hadn't been updated on the recent happenings in the mansion.
He first searched for Xavier as he reached, and having been told he wasn't around, he searched for Kyle. Strangely enough to him, Kyle wasn't also around. He then noticed that Dorin wasn't also around and concluded that she might have executed her plans. Now, the problem he had was, where they were cause retrieving the body was very important.
He went towards Morgan to see if he knew about where Kyle had went
"Hello Morgan" Elliot greeted as he came in
"Elliot... Hello, been a while I saw you around"
"Yeah... Just busy" he said smiling reminiscing his moments with Evelyn "been very busy" he completed
"Hmmn"
"I was searching for Hazel but didn't see her around, do you know where she went?"
"Oh, she said something about going out with Dorin and has said I should tell Xavier when he comes back"
"Do you know exactly where they went and where is Xavier"
"She didn't say. Xavier went for an important meeting outside of Borreve, so I heard, but will be back before dinner"
During dinner, it was just Elliot, Morgan and Mrs Decron that was seated. Mrs Decron had asked a few times about where Dorin was before she began eating, while Elliot was looking towards the door for Xavier to come in.
Time wasn't what he had on his side now, as he wasn't sure if Kyle had been killed or not, the body was needed for Hazel to come back.
Luckily, just as he was still thinking, Xavier walked in. He looked around and when he didn't see Kyle or Dorin, he gave Elliot a questioning look. Both of them didn't stay to complete their dinner as they went to talk with Elliot filling him in on what he knew
"If she truly has been captured, I'm very sure Selles wouldn't waste time in killing her, they've waited too long for this, and as you have said, we just need the body"
"So what's the plan?"
"We head out tomorrow in search of where they are, bout we also have to be careful now, since the witches might have become stronger now"
The next day, just as Xavier and Elliot was getting ready to search for Kyle, a commotion started at the mansion. The guards outside were being killed as they fought against the witches who had invaded the mansion. Selles made her way with Edith and kyle into the mansion after the guards had been killed, with Kyle bounded and confused on what was going on. Dorin was also following behind, which made Mrs Decron who was behind Xavier, shocked
"We meet again, after some time, Lord Xavier" Selles said, when she was at a good distance from Xavier. Xavier was shocked a bit from this but kept his face stoic "I know you're shocked by this, but don't be, let's just say, its karma for backstabbing me done time ago"
"And does this backstabbing involves me trying to save my life by not letting you get the girl you were after. If it does, I wouldn't consider it as backstabbing"
"Guess what, demon. Today, the same person you've been trying to save will be the one to hurt you".
Xavier was taken aback a bit by this, and confusion could be seen on his face. Just then Kyle was brought forward towards Selles and was then loosed from the bounds around her
"Hazel here, will be the one to hurt you, after all, she's the only one that can do that right?" Selles mocked
"What does she mean by that" Mrs Decron asked seeming very confused as she looked at Xavier for an answer
"Noooo!!" Dorin shouted interrupting them "this wasn't what we agreed on"
"How could you" Mrs Decron shouted also seeing that indeed Dorin was a part of this "After I told you not to involve and associate yourself with this creatures" she continued and just as she finished her sentence, a knife flew past her, hitting the wall behind her and hung there
"I would mind the words I say from now. If I were you" Edith said dangerously
"We agreed on killing her in his front, not hurting him" Dorin said not liking as everything was going a bit
"Dorin?" Kyle looked at her feeling betrayed "How could you?" She asked but receive nothing as an answer. Dorin didn't even spare her a glance
"I lied" Selles said replying to Dorin "and do you want to know what else I lied about" she said walking towards Dorin this time, very calmly "I also lied about letting you go free after this. You know I can't, after all, we both hate each others kind" and with that, very fast, she slit Dorin throat open. Dorin stared at her with her eyes wide open as she choked on her blood
"Nooo!!" Mrs Decron cried as she rushed to Dorin side, where she laid in the ground. It happened yo fast that nobody expected it and there was some few seconds of silence as they all watched Dorin struggle for her life and died right there
"She was mine" Edith grumbled
"What?" Selles asked
"She was mine to kill, but anyways, she was beginning to get ahead of herself" Edith shrugged
"YOU HEARTLESS WITCHES!!, I'LL KILL YOU ALL" Mrs Decron shouted as she rushed towards Selles, but was stopped by Edith as she was thrown to some side by her punch. The punch was enough to get her unconscious
"What's going on here" Kyle said confused, bringing back Selles attention to her.
"Well, you my dear is going to use this..." She said bringing out a small dagger laced with poison "to hurt our dear Lord here right on his chest"
"I'll never hurt him, you witch" Kyle said
"Remember, you are also one, Hazel and you will do as I say" she said and then turned to face Morgan "unless you want him to die"
"No, please, you can't hurt my dad" Kyle pleaded
"Then the choice is yours, its either your dad or Xavier"
Kyle was out in a tight situation with this condition. She didn't want to hurt Xavier but also didn't want her dad to die. They had become close this past week and she doesn't want to lose that. With Xavier, they haven't even had a real conversation yet, but she was still hoping for that, hurting him now, will not fulfill that hope.
Just as she was thinking, suddenly, Morgan ran towards her and knelt down
"I don't want to die Hazel, please don't let me die" he said as some tears roller past his eyes. Seeing this, Kyle then turned to look at Xavier with both determination and guilt. She slowly took the dagger from Selles and approached Xavier, staring at him for some time, she whispered
"I'm so sorry, I really love you but, my dad..." And with that, she lifted her hands up and stabbed him right on his chest as Selles had said. Immediately, because of the poison laced with the dagger, Xavier lost his balance and fell to the ground with the injury refusing to heal. Kyle also fell to the ground holding onto him and kept whispering how sorry she was
"I knew you would do it, you're not my Hazel after all" Xavier slowly confessed
"What" Kyle said taken aback a bit
