Chapter 49 - Never insult a man’s taste

After spending some time with the Rose family last night, we were back in their home. The only difference, we were there to help them train.

Since me and Yang had our little fight, Tai thought it'd be a good idea for me and Blake spar with Ruby and Yang.

Only this time, with no weapons, especially for Yang. As we made our way back to their home, Blake told us what she wanted to use.

However, she would get to make the design later and would only use a wooden sword, more specially a wooden katana.

As we soon arrived, I could hear the sound of wood smacking against wood, with the sound of Ruby grunting and shouting.

"Seems that bird man is serious about training her." Sienna commented, hearing the shouts and grunts.

"If anything, her uncle is not as harsh as you when it comes to training." I muttered, only to stay silent when Sienna glanced at me with narrow eyes.

"Is there something wrong with how I teach?" I then shook my head, sweating in fear, not because of what she said, but what my lither said.

'Sweetie, there's a fine line between joking with a woman, and insulting a woman, and I think you passed that line.' She spoke to me with a very, very sweet tone.

'Please don't hurt me.' I asked my mother, only to hear church bells ringing in the back ground.

'Kid, it was nice knowing you.' I heard my grandfather spoke and soon went silent.

'Ah, I'm going to die soon.' I thought with dead eyes.

However, I was soon snapped out of it when I bumped into Sienna, who was looking at Ruby and Qrow fighting.

"Hmm, guess I underestimated the drunkard." Sienna muttered, watching how easily he defended himself from Ruby's attacks.

Ruby was using a wooden scythe to practice her movements, trying to land a single strike agaisnt her uncle.

However, all he was doing was parrying and side stepping each swing she did. Only to use her semblance to run around him.

"Huh, looks like you're getting the hand of your semblance." Was all he said before jumping up, avoiding a strike that was aimed for his legs.

"But your still predictable, try to think outside the box, I mean, the cat boy did so." He pointed at me, I wasn't surprised he would call me that.

'But it still pisses me off.' I thought, a forced smile growing on my face, seeing this, Sienna grinned at how I reacted.

"So, that's what makes you tick. Cat boy." I didn't bother to reply, only focusing on the spar between Ruby and Qrow.

Ruby just kept swinging the scythe as if she was cutting wheat, only slamming it agaisnt Qroes staff.

"C'mon rubes, don't just swing it around. Use it like a pole or a spear." Qrow advised her, trying to advise her.

"O-okay, I'll try." Ruby panted, rushing towards him. Ruby swung it to the side, and I was slightly disappointed.

Only for it to change to surprise when Ruby bursted into petals, rushing past Qrow. Only to reform behind him, gripping the staff part of the scythe and swinging it between his legs.

"Oh sh-!" Before Qrow could finish what he was saying, I had both my hands rush to my balls.

At the same time, I could feel the pain he felt, his mouth was foaming, and he soon landed on his knees.

Meanwhile, Ruby was smiling and jumping up and down in delight. Celebrating on landing a hit on Qrow.

"Yeah, I did it, I did it, I finally hit uncle Qrow!" There was two things that I felt when Ruby struck Qrow, the phantom pain.

The second emotion I was feeling, was fear. I was scared that she was smiling, not a fake smile, not a sadistic smile, but pure joy.

'I-I think I need to take a seat.' I heard my grandpa said, even my grandpa was scared at what just happened.

'Oh shush, let the girl have her fun, didn't you hear? It's the first strike she landed.' My mother replied with a giggle.

'Women are scary.' Was all I thought, only to feel my head getting smacked.

"Hey, did you think of something insulting?" Sienna asked me, with Blake and Ilia frowning at me.

"Nononono, I didn't, I swear on the brothers themselves!" I answered instantly, not wanting to be forced by my mother to carry a ton of iron.

We all then turned to Qrow, who was struggling to stand, using the wooden scythe as a crutch.

"G-good job, k-kiddo." He struggled to speak, his knees shaking from the pain he had felt, and his face was pale.

'That's unfortunate, however, it is his semblance that is causing him these problems.' My mother sighed.

'Yeah, besides that, imagine having to live with bad luck all the time.' If I'm being honest, I felt pity for the man.

However, something went through my mind, if Qrow's semblance is misfortune, couldn't he have an item that is considered unlucky to make his misfortune, turn to good fortune?

(A/N: To be honest, I'm thinking of this now because of an anime I watched a while back.)

However, I tossed that idea in the back, since this wasn't a magic thing. As doon as we got close, Ruby was the first to run up to me.

"Aiko, did you see me? Did you, did you did you did you?" She asked me with stars on her eyes.

Seeing her like this, we all had to close our eyes from the bright light Ruby was showing us.

"Y-yeah, I saw it." I said, trying to sound normal, but failing horribly when I tried to look at her again.

"Qrow, what happened to you?!" Tai came out running, followed by Yang, who was confused on why Qrow was kneeling.

"J-just resting my legs." He groaned, his head touching the ground.

"Oh… I see." Tai then knelt down, tossing Qrow's arm over his shoulder, and took him back inside.

Meanwhile, Yang approached us, mainly towards me. Sienna then stood in front of me, narrowing her eyes towards her, causing Yang to stop in place.

"What can we do for you, Yang?" Sienna sled slowly, albeit in a subtle commanding tone.

"I-I want to apologize to Aiko." Yang spoke with a timid voice, her hands were behind her back, hiding something.

Seeing the sincerity, and pride being set aside, Sienna stepped to the side, allowing Yang to approach me.

As she stood in front of me, I could see her arms shuffling. She then pulled out the gift n front of her, and in her hands, was a small box.

"I-I asked Ruby on what a good apology gift would be good, and Ruby told me that y-you like tea." Hearing her say that, I turned to Blake, who looked away.

"She wouldn't stop asking on what you like, so, I told her." I only smiled and patted her head.

"That's fine." I then turned to Yang and gently took the box, our fingers lightly brushing one another.

Causing her to blush at the sudden contact and look away, I however grinned and held the box with care

"Apology accepted, and thanks for the tea." Seeing me smile, Yang smiled in return.

"Y-yeah, no problem, though, what so special about leafe juice?" Ilia, Sienna, and Blake all stiffened at her words, and turned towards me.

'Why did she call it leaf juice?!' They all panicked, it was something they never said when I heard that.

FLASHBACK

It was our time when we left the island, and I was minding my own business, after having my ass kicked by Sienna, I made myself some tea to relax.

However, Sienna snatched the cup and barely looked at it, taking a long sip. Her eyes widen and she spit out the drink, coughing it out.

"Ugh, what is this?!" She asked me, glaring at me.

"U-um, it's just tea. It helps me relax." I told her, only to have her pour the rest of the contents on top of my head.

"That's disgusting, it's just leaf juice." She tossed the cup towards me, not noticing my hands were clenched.

"..." Hearing nothing from me, Sienna turned around to say something, only to have my fist in her mouth.

"The fuck did you say you bitch?!" I shouted, sending her up to the deck, with me following behind her.

"Oh fuck, there's fire!" The crew members began to exit their rooms, all rushing with buckets of water.

"Huh? What's happening?" Blake asked, yawning at the commotion.

"I dare you to say that again, c'mon, call it leaf juice one more time!" Hearing me shout, Blake went back to bed, rubbing her eyes.

"Oh, it's just Aiko ranting about tea again."

FLASHBACK END

At the memory, Sienna was about to grab me so that I wouldn't hit Yang, instead she saw me giggle and nod my head.

"When you put it like that, it kinda is." Soon, both me and Yang began to giggle at one another.

"W-wha?" Seeing Siennas confusion, Blake tugs her sleeve to catch her attention.

"Aiko only hits adults, he never hits kids." Seeing the obvious, Sienna only clenched his teeth.

"Ah, I see." She then made her way towards me, seeing how I was laughing with Yang annoyed her, her fist clenching tighter than before.

She then swung it towards my head, but before it made contact, both me and Yang disappeared.

She began to look around, only to see me and Ruby sparring agaisnt one another. Ruby was trying to do the same one she did on her uncle.

Only for me to kick it away from her hand and force the blunt end to the ground. As I stood on top of the wooden scythe, I stretched my arms out, standing straight and stared at Sienna.

'Sweetie, what are you doing?' My mother asked me, I only grinned mentally and continued to stare at Sienna.

'What does it look like I'm doing? I'm asserting my dominance.' I replied, staring at Sienna with a smug look.

'Careful, Ruby is about to attack.' Receiving the brief warning, I jumped in time to avoid falling off from the scythe.

Ruby had her legs crossed on the scythe, kicking it up and spin in the air. Once she caught it, she began to twirl it in her hands

As soon as she stopped, she had the wooden scythe aimed at my throat. Only for me to ease my hand and give a sideways peace, fading away in front of her.

"Nice try, but you'll have to do better than that." I spoke, poking her head from behind.

"Your Grimm food." I smiled, making Ruby turn towards me, her eyes had tears welling up, and she was pouting.

"No fair, you have a cool semblance that lets you make copies of yourself." She whined, punching me on my chest with her fists.

"Well, that means you have to get better, then you'll be able to hit the real me." I giggled, ruffling her hair.

"Really? If I get better will I hit you for real?" She asked me with a smile.

"Yup, you just got to be a little faster." Ruby then changed into her petal burst to grab the wooden scythe, and came back.

The scythe was already swinging towards me, and was about to strike me on my neck. The speed however, surprised me, since I didn't expect her to use it.

Seeing this, Sienna tried to rush towards Ruby, wanting to intercept the attack. However, she wouldn't be able to reach us in time, even if she had grabbed her whip, it would still be too slow.

Seeing this, I smiled at the sight, only to change into her. Mimicking her entire appearance, and using her semblance to slip past her.

All the while I left a clone on where I was, letting her think she hit me. Only to be right behind her.

As soon as she hit the clone, Ruby stumbled forward, nearly falling face first. I giggled at her attempt to catch me off guard, but I smiled.

"So close Ruby, your just a bit slow." I waved my finger in front of me, teasing her speed.

"Oh yeah?" Ruby then dashed at me again, her scythe already behind her, trying to hit me again.

Only to see me poof into confetti, while I blew a party whistle behind her.

"Strike two!" I laughed, jumping backwards to avoid a backward thrust from Ruby's scythe, while also twisting my body in mid-air, avoiding an upward slash.

"And that's strike three, time for me to fight back!" I smiled, as soon as my foot barely touched the ground, I disappeared before her eyes.

"Wha-?" Ruby was on her back, staring at the ceiling of her home, on one side, a bowl of cookies, and on the other, was a glass of milk.

"Woah. Super Faunus." She then began to munch onto a cookie like a squirl, nibbling on one side.
