Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 : First Look for Extraordinary Way

After walking further down the narrow path, Victor arrived at the village headman's house. Unlike the other houses in the village, the headman's house was made of stone. It was also at least three times larger than the other houses, and it was clear that it was regularly maintained. It immediately caught the eye from the outside. It was obvious that the owner of this house had a status in the village.

When he arrived, the front of the house was empty. Victor was quite relieved when he didn't see anyone waiting in front of the headman's house. There were times when he had to wait for hours to get his turn when it was crowded here. Therefore, he breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't see anyone waiting there. Apparently, he was quite lucky today.

Without lingering any longer, he walked towards the headman's door and knocked. After knocking, he took two steps back and waited for the headman to open the door. The village headman didn't keep him waiting too long and opened the door. Victor, without waiting for the headman to speak, immediately got to the point and began to explain why he had come. He didn't try to beat around the bush at all. "Hello, headman, I want to trade all my contribution points for the information necessary to become extraordinary. My contribution points should be sufficient," he said, getting straight to the point. He had directly expressed what he wanted.

The headman slowly sized up Victor. Victor was a head shorter than the headman, but despite being thin, he was a sturdy young man. The headman had met perhaps dozens of young men like Victor. He had even given advice to some of them, but the fate of these men had not been very different. He knew that young men at this age wouldn't turn back until they hit a wall. Therefore, when he saw Victor, he thought he was seeing another one of those young men who were reckless and thought they could change their destiny without thinking too much. These young men saw themselves as chosen ones and were stubborn like goats, but they didn't see the situation in their own homes. Becoming extraordinary also required resources, and it was impossible for ordinary people to obtain these resources. When he told them this, they looked at him as if he wanted their harm. Therefore, he just had to give these people what they wanted and send them away.

The headman, waking up from his momentary reverie, told Victor to come inside. Victor, without knowing what the headman thought about him in those few seconds he sized him up, entered the house with a happy face.

The headman told Victor to wait a few minutes and went to one of the back rooms of the house. Victor went to the living room and sat down, waiting for the headman to return. Within a few minutes, the headman came to the living room with a black-covered notebook in his hand. He sat down on the couch and opened the notebook, looking for Victor's name. He found Victor's name in the notebook and checked his contribution points. The contribution points were sufficient. He nodded, saying "Okay," and recorded a note next to Victor's name, indicating what the contribution points were used for, and deducted the contribution points. He then asked Victor to come and press his fingerprint in the empty space next to it. When Victor dipped his thumb in a blue liquid and pressed it into that space, the writing there suddenly began to glow. This glow lasted for a few seconds. When the glow completely disappeared, a mark appeared next to Victor's name, indicating that the use of his contribution points in this way was approved. The headman nodded, closed the notebook, and left the living room to put it back in its place, leaving a young man with his mouth open in the middle of the living room.

When he returned to the living room, he scolded Victor, saying, "What are you waiting for there, brat? Come to the backyard with me," and headed towards the backyard without waiting for him to come. Victor, recovering from his astonishment, quickly followed the headman and caught up with him. When they arrived at the backyard, he saw that it was much larger than his own yard and was a little envious. However, this was very short-lived because he heard the headman tell him to watch carefully. He immediately gave his full attention to the headman and waited curiously to see what he would show him.

The headman adjusted himself for a few seconds and began to show some stances in slow motion. These stances seemed quite interesting to Victor because they were very similar to the classic starting stances like the horse stance of the ancient martial arts on the blue star. However, the number of these stances was not large. There were only nine of them. When the headman completed these nine stances in slow motion, he asked how many of them he remembered.

Victor thought for a moment. These stances were not very difficult, but he felt that there were small but important details in these stances, so he told the headman that he only understood half of them. The headman didn't scold him. He showed the same stances in slow motion two more times and then asked him to show these stances himself. Actually, this was not necessary, but the headman's heart was not willing to see people who paid so many contribution points stagnate with small mistakes. The resources were already a difficulty for them, and he didn't want to give them extra difficulty with careless attitudes. At least, he could comfort his heart in this way.

Victor seemed to know that this opportunity was rare. Therefore, he immediately started performing the stances, first showing them all quickly, and then slowly, waiting like a student expecting feedback from his teacher. The village headman also began to correct Victor's crooked stances. He found almost a dozen mistakes for each stance.

Victor didn't even know how much time he would waste if he tried to find these mistakes on his own. Therefore, he felt quite grateful to the village headman in his heart. In this way, the village headman continued to teach Victor for two hours. At the end of two hours, Victor could perform all the stances almost standardly. However, he still had minor mistakes. But these were small mistakes that everyone had to adapt according to their own body. Despite working on these stances for two hours, he didn't feel any special emotion or anything at all.

When the village headman looked at Victor's confused state, he immediately understood what he was thinking. However, without saying anything, he signaled him to follow him again and headed towards the house. He came to a locked drawer in the house and reached for his neck. There was a key hanging around his neck, and he took out the key and put it into the lock. Victor couldn't see the inside of the drawer. However, from Victor's perspective, he could see the headman taking out a piece of paper from the drawer. It was obvious that the paper was not an ordinary piece of paper.

Some symbols that he couldn't understand caught his eye on the paper, and these symbols were glowing slightly. The headman took the paper and started walking towards Victor. When he came in front of Victor, he pressed the paper against Victor's forehead. Victor felt those glowing symbols flowing from the paper into his mind. This was confirmed by the gradual decrease of the symbols on the paper and the feeling that something was constantly being filled into his mind. His head started to spin a little, but he gritted his teeth and continued to endure. When all the symbols on the paper disappeared, Victor's head was spinning so much that it was as if he had spent a night at a bar. However, after a few minutes, he started to come to his senses, and the dizziness gradually decreased.

During this process, Victor saw that the paper was completely empty. He also saw that those meaningless symbols in his mind were organized into some diagrams and texts. When the headache and dizziness completely disappeared, those diagrams and texts in his mind seemed to have been completely organized and formed a meaningful whole. While his attention was completely focused on his mind, he saw the village headman pull the empty white paper from his forehead and crumple it up and throw it into the trash can.

This white paper was the second extraordinary item he had seen today, and its function felt very surprising to him. If he had a few of these papers in his past life, he could have graduated from the best schools with honors and become the best white-collar worker on the blue planet. While Victor was thinking these things in his mind, he started to move a few minutes later. Even in his dreams, he was a good worker, not a bad boss. Apparently, the influence of the capitalists had seeped into his bones. He suddenly cut off these thoughts and gave his attention to the headman.

When Victor opened his eyes, he saw that the headman was waiting for him. Apparently, this item was a disposable extraordinary item. The headman's back was turned at this time. He couldn't resist his curiosity again and focused on his mind. He saw that there was an extra breathing diagram in his memories. This breathing diagram was called the basic breathing method. Apart from these diagrams, there was also a section containing some basic information and common sense about the extraordinary path, along with a set of texts explaining these diagrams. Victor quickly glanced at it and felt that there was no time now and that he shouldn't keep the headman waiting any longer, and he fully woke up.

When Victor opened his eyes and looked outside, he realized that the headman was waiting for him. He felt that the headman would get angry if he lingered any longer. The headman nodded and said, "Well done, brat. I thought you would get lost in the information in your head and keep me waiting for a few hours. Apparently, you can restrain yourself. Your will is not bad." Apparently, the headman had also appreciated Victor in the few hours they spent together. It was obvious that the headman was in a good mood, so he wanted to say a few more words. "The stances I taught you are the way to train the body. But the breathing method in your mind is the key to feel and absorb extraordinary energy. When you fully integrate the breathing method into the stances and complete them all, you will be on the verge of becoming extraordinary. There is only one path in the information in your mind, and there is a very small probability, one death, one life, take care of your little life, son."

Victor's head was even more confused by these words. However, the headman realized that he had said something he shouldn't have said, so he closed his mouth and signaled Victor to leave, saying that everything was finished. Victor didn't insist and left the headman's house. However, after taking a few steps outside, he heard a voice behind him saying, "Prepare more food, brat. You will see that the food in your house is not enough for you. You will have trouble not only with information but also with resources." Victor was about to turn back again when he heard the sound of the door closing and stopped for a moment. He set off towards his own house again, but the words the headman said kept turning in his mind on the way. He didn't think that these words were just said casually.

Even in his past life, there was a saying, "Knowledge is the martial arts of the poor, and martial arts are the things that the rich play." He fully agreed with this saying. The food he was eating right now wasn't exactly energy-rich things either. He didn't have access to any energy-rich food. He took a deep breath and pushed these thoughts to the back of his head and tried to reach his house quickly. Every difficulty would somehow be overcome when the time came. Determination and hard work were the only things that ordinary people had. He hoped that hard work could make a difference in this life too.
