All in all, it was a good sign and a step in the right direction! Although this trip to the Six Toed Cats Scratch didn't yield any of the original results Di Tou had hoped for, he had still made quite the killing!
Seeing the state of the Six Toed Cats Scratch, Di Tou was actually feeling quite concerned. While at the Academy, he had researched and pried into all sorts of strange Spatial Fractures and phenomena around the world in hopes of visiting those with more peculiar traits looking for a path back to Earth. Even if there wasn't a direct sign, a few strange materials or fables that seemed related to the folklore of Earth were pretty good too!
But what he hadn't really considered was that there was a reason that Academics were sometimes considered… idealistic with their heads up in the clouds. Books were an invaluable source of information, but they were also a representation of a time period. Even the most empirical textbook could become outdated!
