Chapter 3 - (Star spangled banner.)

Chapter three:

"And, uh, who are you?" I asked him.

"Martian Manhunter. Good job with the train, and breaking every known speed record along the way." He offered his hand, and I shook it.

"Nice to meet you Martian Manhunter. How can I help you?" I said.

"Everything was normal last week, but this morning, someone, not from here, broke into the Justice League facility in Metropolis in an attempt to steal the mother box." He explained, and I looked at him confused.

"He has since brainwashed two of the sharpest people I know, and turned them against me. We at the Justice League, believe that you could help us. Are you in?" Martian Manhunter asked me.

"You need me? Why me?" I asked him.

"You can run 2000 miles per hour." He replied.

"Actually I can run 2532 miles per hour, but I'm only 16, and I can't go galavanting about Metropolis. I'll get in trouble." I said.

"The Justice League is an idea to bring together a group of remarkable people, in hopes that they can become something more. Become Earth's mightiest heroes." He said trying to entice me.

"Who've you got so far?" I asked him.

"Oliver Queen, codename Green Arrow, Dinah Lance, codename Black Canary, and Clark Kent." He replied.

"Superman?" I asked him.

"And Travis LaRowe codename Future Flash." I smiled at him, and he slightly smiled back at me.

"Your codename needs some work." He said.

"What, why? I like it." I replied and he looked at me funny before walking away.

"Good to have you onboard and follow me." He said and I followed him.

We were halfway across the North Atlantic Ocean when I decided to ask a few questions.

"So where's your base of operation?" I asked.

"The watchtower." Replied Martian Manhunter.

"Okay, what the hell is a watchtower?" I said.

"Our base of operation." He replied.

"Touche." I said.

After a while we landed in the watchtower.

"This is the watchtower." He then pointed towards the middle of it. "Over there is Dinah Lance, go introduce yourself." I walked over to a blonde headed woman, who was with two other men. As I approached her, the taller man turned around, prompting the blonde hair woman to turn around.

"You must be Dinah Lance. I'm Travis." I offered my hand and she shook it.

"Aquaman said that there would be a kid coming." Said Dinah Lance.

"Clark Kent." He smiled at me.

"Oh, I know who you are, Superman. You fought Doomsday and my history teacher told me all about you." I smiled at him.

"And you might be?" I asked the shorter man.

"Oh, me? Billy Boston." He didn't shake my hand. I then noticed a lot of workers rushing around. Which amazed me. I was a superhero. Life will never be the same again. Dinah Lance cleared her throat.

"Gentlemen, you might wanna step inside in a minute." We all turned around to face her. "It's gonna get a little hard to breathe." She said and we started to hear loud noises coming from below.

"Is this a submarine?" Clark Kent asked.

"Really they want me in a submerged pressurized metal container?" Said Billy Baston.

The watchtower then started lifting up into the air.

"No, no, this is much worse." Said Billy Baston. We then followed Dinah Lance inside and a few corridors later, we were in the bridge. I walked around and saw a lot of technology. I then saw Clark Kent hand Martian Manhunter a ten dollar bill which made me smile.

"Billy thank you for coming." Said Martian Manhunter.

"Thanks for asking nicely. So, how long will I be staying?" Asked Billy Baston.

"Once we get the mother box, you're in the wind." Said Martian Manhunter.

"Call every lab you know, and tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a algorithm, basic cluster recognition. Do you have somewhere for me to work?" Billy Baston explained and Dinah Lance led him to the lab.

"So, why did Martian Manhunter bring you in?" Clark Kent asked me.

"I can run faster than the speed of sound and less than five hours ago, I saved about 100 people from being crushed by a train. Then, I disposed of a bomb from the train, that would've killed another 200 people." I explained and Clark Kent looked at me impressed.

"And how are you?" He asked me.

"16." I replied.
