Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Extinction

I have to admit, the alien city is really something to behold. Nothing of Planet Vegeta could ever come remotely close to this.

It looked like a city out of a full on dystopian film. I can see several small skyscrapers, all of which were surrounding one very large skyscraper that was directly in the middle of the city. And even them, the small ones are built higher than anything I've ever seen in my past life.

Then again, I never really got out much, but that's beside the point.

The lights that shone through the night were honestly very beautiful. One could almost compare it to a far away picture of a night time New York City, only this New York was considerably smaller. But even with its size being probably a tenth of New York, this city could easily hold ten times that much. Which is why something about this picture doesn't feel right to me.

Why can I only sense around thirty thousand Ki signatures here? Could the previous Saiyan Infiltration Squads have been more successful than the data showed, or was there something else that I'm not seeing?

Figuring there was no use in thinking about it with the little to no information I had, I flew off in the direction of the giant skyscraper that was in the middle of the city. As I flew over, I noticed that the people here seemed to have a gloomy atmosphere about them.

I would usually write it off as something inconsequential, but considering that it seems to affect everyone here, I can only imagine some type of event happened that caused them to be like this.

There was my initial theory of the Saiyan Infiltration Squads having been somewhat successful in conquering the planet before eventually being killed off, but there was one problem with the theory so far.

There was no damage anywhere.

A squad of Saiyans arrive on a planet, there's usually only one method that they use in order when their orders are to conquer it.

And that was basically Scorched Earth.

...Or scorched "insert planet name here".

They would turn an entire city into a glass floor until they had no doubt that absolutely nothing of the original inhabitants survived. People, buildings, everything that they had that the Saiyan race had no use for, they wanted it gone.

And there's hardly any other method that Saiyans would use. Sometimes they would be tasked to retrieve a piece of technology, but those missions usually came from someone higher up in the Frieza Force or the King himself.

As far as I know, there isn't any technology on this planet that was tasked for retrieval, which would mean that the Scorched Earth policy was in place when the other teams arrived.

If the other Saiyan squads weren't the cause of their pathetically small numbers or their obvious depressed state, then I don't know what is.

"I guess that's a question I'll just have to save for later." I muttered to myself before arriving at the top the tallest skyscraper.

I looked down at the building below me, smirking at the idea that had just popped into my head.

I've never tried using this technique before, so my stance would probably need to be corrected. But I don't think I could call myself a Dragon Ball fan if I don't try to do it at least once.

I put my hands together, leaving a gap in between and bringing them to my right side.

"Ka... Me..."

A dark purple ball of Ki starts to form in the gap between my hands.

"Ha... Me..."

The ball of Ki grows bigger and bigger, now letting off small beams of Ki in every direction.

Before I could shoot off the Kamehameha Wave, some sort of electric dome surrounded the roof of the skyscraper and shocks me with a very high voltage of electricity.

"AAAAAAGGHH!!!"

The pain was so immense that I dropped out of the sky and onto my hands and knees, smoke coming off my body. I suddenly feel something wrap itself around me, dragging me back into the air whilst also keeping my arms at my sides.

"What the hell...?" I groaned, looking down at whatever it was that kept me restrained.

When I looked down, I saw two yellow rings around me, the look of them reminding me of Gotenk's Galatic Donut technique.

"You are being contained in a stasis field." I heard a voice speak out from above.

I look up and see five of the same aliens that I had encountered at my ship. They were all using some kind of vehicle to hover above the ground. Four of the aliens had on some fancy looking red robes while the one in the middle of them all had on a blue robe.

"We theorized that if another one of your species were to make it this far into the city that they would aim for where they could cause the most damage." The alien who was in the middle of the group told me.

Their vehicle, that looked more like a giant hoverboard when I got a closer look at it, floated down towards the roof, allowing all of them to step down and walk towards me.

They split off a few feet from each other, surrounding me in circle. Some of them didn't do much of anything, but two of them looked like they were studying me.

I raise my power and try to bust out of the containment rings, but I don't feel even the slightest bit of give.

"Struggling is futile, young one. Those rings are meant to hold even the strongest of soldiers." He... She... It... told me.

Besides their differing blue and purple skin pigmentation, I couldn't actually tell which member of this damn species were male or female.

The alien in blue, who I assumed was the leader of this little outfit, stepped closer to me before saying, "And while I admit that members of your species has tremendous power, our technology and mental faculties have far exceeded yours."

"Well, I'm so sorry that my species is such a disappointment to you." I said sarcastically whilst rolling my eyes.

What is even the point of this? It could've killed me by now but instead it's choosing to speak to me. If it was so interested in speaking, why would those soldiers from earlier shoot me on sight in the first place?

"It's actually quite the opposite. In fact..."

It leaned down and picked something off the ground, holding its hand up and showing it to be a Senzu Bean. My eyes widened and I used my tongue to feel around my mouth for the one I had put there, but didn't feel it anywhere.

It must've came out when I was screaming out from the sudden agonizing pain earlier.

"I'm very curious as to how your weak-minded species was able to manufacture such a powerful healing agent." It says as it reached into its robe and took out a remote, pressing one of the buttons.

The vehicle they flew in on flies up high and projects a video onto the roof of the skyscraper. Looking at it closely, I see that it was actually a video of the encounter I had earlier with the two aliens that ambushed me at my ship.

Body cams? No, the placement of these shots are too high for that. Their movement is also very odd. It's almost as if this recording is...

Wait a fucking second...

Do these creatures implant micro cameras into the eyes of their soldiers?!

Shit, I should've just turned their bodies to ash instead of leaving the corpses. Then again, this footage that they managed to capture is probably the only reason that they're keeping me alive at this point.

I don't know whether I should be disappointed in my lack of caution or relieved that it somehow gotten me in a situation that is better than the alternative.

"As you can see, you were shot by one of our snipers right through the heart. I'm sure I don't need to remind you." It started, its hand motioning towards the right side of my chest. "Although, you seem to be surprisingly mobile for one that's supposed to be dead. I picked this footage apart very carefully to find out how you were able to walk away from such an injury."

Taking the fact that my heart is on the left side of my chest into consideration, it seems they just disposed of the bodies of the other Saiyans instead of dissecting them.

Odd, I would've expected them to try and learn everything about us by any means necessary, especially after the whole eye cameras thing, but something else it said caught my attention for a bit.

It went through the footage carefully? That footage couldn't have been captured more than ten minutes ago. How in the world did it manage to pick it apart at that footage enough in that small amount of time?

"It's very difficult for anyone not experienced enough with subtle body movements to make out, but you swallowed something when our soldiers were examining you. To which you then took out our soldiers with ease, and even more importantly, without any damage on your person. Later on, you put this into your mouth before disembarking from your ship and flying towards our city."

While it was busy spouting off its monologue, I focused on the remaining options I had available to me right now.

First up, Kaioken.

Not fucking happening. Putting aside the fact that it'll kill me the second I use it, I don't even know how much of a multiplier I have to use in order to bust out.

Second was the Great Ape, which is going to make things a lot messier. I don't have any experience, which means I don't have a semblance of control. It was a not going to be a clean infiltration, but it's not like I have many other options. If it's this or Kaioken, then I'm choosing this.

And the third option is using Kai Kai to get away, but fuck that.

Which I guess mean that I'm choosing the fourth option... This is gonna fucking suck...

The alien walked up to me, holding the Senzu Bean right in my face, "What is this?"

So I suppose this is why they are choosing to talk now...

I remember from earlier that the other two aliens were talking about looking for some Medical Mechines to help with their medical systems.

They need healing and medical support, but for what?

"Silence will get you nowhere, Saiyan. I suggest that you cooperate." It threatens.

I looked the alien in the eyes, giving it a smartass smirk in response to its threat. The alien looks at me for a moment before letting out a sigh and stepping back a bit.

"I wish that you would have just cooperated. I do not take any pleasure in any of this, but you have brought this upon yourself, Saiyan."

It presses another button on the remote it had in its hand, causing electricity to shoot out from my restraints and into my body. I could only groan out in pain, not wanting to give it the satisfaction of hearing me cry out.

"What is it?" It repeats.

Again I don't answer, and again I'm shocked by electricity. This time it felt even worse than the others. After the current was disabled, my head drops and I felt my muscles twitch.

"Each time that you insist on remaining silent, I will increase the voltage more and more. Now tell me what I want to know and I promise that you will not suffer any more pain." It tells me.

I tilt my head back up and let out a chuckle before telling it, "Fuck. You."

[General POV]

As the alien disables the current once more, one of its allies off to the side made a clicking sound with its mandible, shaking its head. The leader let out a tired sigh as it looked towards the small Saiyan, who was still currently suspended in the containment rings, smoke coming off his body.

They have been trying to get information from him for almost an hour, but it didn't seem to matter how much they increase the current, the Saiyan simply refused to provide any information about the healing agent. And while the alien could respect his will, this was getting both of them nowhere.

"This is it, Saiyan. My compatriot has been keeping an eye on your vitals, and you will not survive if I choose to press the button again." The alien told Zyleth before stepping right to his face, its eyes holding some sort of semblance of sympathy. "Will you comply?"

Zyleth kept silent, causing the alien to let out another sigh of frustration before it stepped away from him. Right as it was about to press the button again, Zyleth I let out a small, almost inaudible grunt, but it was enough to stay the aliens hand.

"Will you comply?" The alien asked.

Zyleth nodded and it lowered the remote.

"Just let me... ask you... one... question..." Zyleth requested.

The alien stared at Zyleth for along moment before nodding its head, "if it is in my power to answer, I will."

It took a moment for Zyleth to respond, when he finally mustered the strength, he asked, "Why... do you... need... it...?"

The alien took pause for a moment, not expecting that question, but it was happy to answer it.

"I'm sure that you've noticed our paltry numbers." The alien started, to which Zyleth nodded weakly. "Some time ago, a disease ripped through our planet. This disease is incurable... and always fatal..."

"So you... need medicine... to--" Zyleth started, only to be interrupted by the alien.

"Yes." It nodded. "Your technology is the only thing we've found that staves off this plague." It moved closer yet again, now almost face to face with Zyleth. "Now do you understand why I needed to resort to this... barbarity?"

"Yeah, I know..." Zyleth replied, his head low and his eyes almost completely shut. And then suddenly, his picked his head back up and at the alien with a crazed grin, "It's too bad you're all gonna die anyway."

Zyleth suddenly disappeared without a trace, the group of aliens looking around for him, but he was nowhere to be seen.

"Up there!" One of them shouted, pointing towards the sky.

Up above, they saw Zyleth hovering in sky, holding what looked to be a bright white sphere in his right hand.

Option four, take advantage of the situation and be pushed to the brink of death.

"Burst open... and mix..."
