"Excuse me?" Vegeta asked as he stared at me with narrowed eyes, probably thinking that I was insane.
"You heard me." I told him, crossing my arms before adding, "I want the both of you to come at me with everything you got."
"What's the point?! You're obviously stronger than us!" The Prince yelled out.
I look over at Broly and see that even he seemed hesitant to do it, but whether that was because of his shy nature or because he genuinely didn't want to fight me, I had no idea.
It could very well be both.
"I want gauge where the two of you stand." I said as I looked back towards Vegeta.
While that was one of the reasons, it wasn't the main one. I needed to break them down before I can build them up. More Vegeta than Broly, as Broly doesn't have nearly as big of an ego, but I can't have them thinking that I'm playing favorites now can I?
Even though Broly is most definitely my favorite.
Can't let Vegeta know that though.
The King nor the Prince.
"Stop worrying about strength and just come at me!" I told them, not wanting to hear anymore lip.
The two looked towards each other with an array of different emotions before reluctantly getting into their respective stances.
Vegeta seemed to already have experience, as he got into his original Z stance right away. While Broly seemed to be relatively new to fighting, as his stance wasn't the typical Saiyan Fighting Stance. He just spread his legs and held his arms up at his sides.
"You ready?!" Vegeta shouted as he and Broly stood there focused on me, waiting for the go ahead.
"Bring it!" I shouted back as I smirked at the two, not bothering to get in my own stance.
Vegeta noticed this and clicked his tongue in annoyance before charging at me with a commendable amount of speed. Broly immediately followed his lead, the two seemingly agreeing to go for an all out assault.
With Broly currently being the more powerful of the two, he reached me first and struck his fist out towards my jaw. I reach out and grab his fist before leaping over him, avoiding a low kick that Vegeta had aimed at my legs.
They're working together surprisingly well for a couple of kids who've never met each other before this morning, but let's see what happens when they get a little push back....
With Broly's fist still gripped in my hand, I threw him towards Vegeta. The Prince turns and sees Broly flying directly at him, his eyes widening before he ducked to the ground, just narrowly avoiding getting hit.
"Watch it! Whose side are you on?!" Vegeta yelled at him.
As I thought. The slightest disruption causes them to turn on each other.
Well, more so Vegeta than Broly...
"You'd better focus on me."
Vegeta turned and was met with a kick to the face, being sent flying towards Broly.
After hitting the ground, Broly shook his head and stood up on his feet, about to reenter the fray when he was struck back to the ground by a flying Vegeta.
The two Saiyan children groaned in pain, not even trying to stand up.
"Let's, uh... take five..." I said, awkwardly scratching my cheek as I looked at the two sprawled out Saiyan children on the ground.
---
"That was an embarrassment!" Vegeta threw his juice box in frustration before looking over towards Broly. "How can you just sit there drinking juice after the humiliation we just went through?!"
Broly and I glanced at each other with disinterest, sitting together on a fairly decent sized rock as we sipped on green juice pouches. They taste like what green Hawaii Punch tasted like back in my past life, and apparently it was completely healthy.
They were quite refreshing too.
"It's good..." Broly replied softly, stretching out his juice towards Vegeta.
Vegeta slaps the juice out of his hand in frustration before snapping his head towards me and angrily asking, "What was the point of this?!"
Broly looks at his fallen juice in sadness and I let out a sigh before handing him mine. I stand up, dusting myself off a bit, and look at Vegeta with three of my fingers held up.
"There were three points." I told him.
"And those were?!" He demanded.
"First, to gauge the strength you two." I said, putting one of my fingers down.
"What's the point of that? You already know we're weaker than you!" He exclaims.
"True, but I wasn't talking about raw strength. I was talking about fighting strength." I tell him. "While you both were attacking, I could easily tell that you are more experienced with fighting than Broly is. Your stances, along with the way you two fought, proved that."
"The way we fought?" He asked, tilting his head in confusion.
"Broly immediately went for a head on attack. Admirable, but reckless." I said as I looked towards Broly, who was still sitting on the rock and happily sipping on his juice. "But you, you went for my legs. So you realized that a head on attack wouldn't work and went for a more technical approach instead. Even if it didn't work, you were still using you head."
Vegeta nodded his head slowly, the tension in his body visibly easing away as I continued my explanation.
"The second is to see how the two of you worked together." I put down a second finger.
Vegeta didn't interrupt this time, wanting to hear what I had to say.
"You followed up after Broly's punch quite well. In fact, I was surprised by it. Even if it was a simple follow up, I didn't expect you two to work well right off the bat." My words seemed to stroke the Prince's ego, as he proceeded to look at me with an arrogant smirk, but that quickly dropped as soon as I said my next words, "But that went away the moment I introduced the slightest disruption. Don't turn on your teammates. Ever. It helps to know that the person you turn you back to won't be the one shooting it."
He looks down in thought for a second before looking back up at me, "What was that third reason?"
"To beat you up." I answered with a shit eating grin as I put my hand down and crossed my arms
"WHAT?!" The Prince exclaimed in a rage.
I don't know why I was so concerned about the King wanting me to train the Prince.
This is honestly quite entertaining.
"Don't worry, there's a reason why." I told him, waving off his angry outburst.
"And what kind of reason was it?! Explain yourself!" He demanded, pointing at me as if I'm some sort of criminal.
"You're the Prince. You probably think that your family, or more specifically your father, is the strongest Saiyan around, right?" I asked.
Vegeta looked at me for a moment before putting his hand down, "I did until yesterday."
"Yesterday?" I asked, tilting my head a small bit.
He nodded and said, "When you were fighting that supposed "Saiyan Elite", my father said that he couldn't see you move at all. That means your power level is higher, right?"
Oh shit, the King said that? Damn... I was so focused on not trying to kill Nappa that I put a cap on my strength, but not a limit my speed.
Is that why the King was testing my loyalty to him back in the throne room yesterday? I thought it was because he was thinking about the danger Broly could pose to his son.
Christ, and I thought I was being cautious...
I see the Prince waiting for an answer and I think about lying to him, but I honestly can't think of something that would give a reasonable enough explanation as to why I was able to move so fast that the King wasn't able to see my movements.
Steroids? Do Saiyans even have that?
Fuck it, might as well own it.
"Yeah, my power level is higher." I told him.
"By how much?" He asked without missing a beat.
"More than you'd think, less than I'd like."
His face went blank at my answer, to which I responded by clearing my throat and changing the subject.
"Anyway, the point was to show you that even if you're the Prince, there will always be someone stronger than you. Your father, other Saiyan Elites-"
"That juice guzzling child over there." Vegeta said with gritted teeth as he pointed his thumb over his shoulder towards Broly.
I give a wry chuckle, giving him a slow nod before continuing my point, "The point is that there is always going to be someone stronger out there somewhere. Don't get caught up in your own strength and title. You can be confident in your own abilities, but be careful that you don't start thinking that you're invincible. Because there's always someone who doesn't care about your title and doesn't care about kicking your ass. The universe is a very, very big place."
"Confidence, but not arrogance..." Vegeta said thoughtfully.
He actually got what I was trying to teach him?
The more I interact with him, the more I realize that he isn't as bad as I was expecting. Maybe because he's younger?
As I was in my own head, I'm brought out by the feeling of something tugging on my arm. I look over and see Broly looking at me with big soft eyes, holding up an empty juice pouch.
"Juice?"
.
.
.
This is around my fourth time having any sort of interaction with Broly, but if anything ever happened to him, I would slaughter all of the universes and then myself...
