Xaviera Evans looked at Quinn Powell's resentful expression and the corner of her mouth revealed a hint of mockery, "What does Miss Powell want to do?"
Quinn bit her lip, her voice weak, "Since Mrs. Mamet won't admit to it, let's call the police and let them investigate. Whatever the outcome, I'll accept the police's judgment without complaint, and it's only fair for both Mrs. Mamet and me."
Yigol Mamet became displeased immediately, "Quinn Powell, who do you think you are! Just because you were invited to the banquet doesn't mean you can--"
Before she could finish, Xaviera waved her hand to stop her, speaking nonchalantly, "I agree with Miss Powell's idea. After all, murder is not a trivial matter. If you want to call the police, I naturally won't refuse."
Yigol's words stopped abruptly, and everyone looked at Xaviera incredulously.
