Chapter 328 - Chapter 328: Sigil of Crocell

The salt immediately picks itself up and shapes them into hands, a massive wave that tries to grab ahold of the child. Zazel would back himself in response and set up a sigil, one which catches Arthur's eyes, causing him to slightly shift the salts direction to try and go for a direct strike onto such markings. Anticipating such a maneuver, the Demon would be quick on blasting the rubble apart with Focalor, large streams of water gushed out from the marking, pressurizing the smooth marble and letting the stone block the incoming attacks. As he did this, however, he noticed that Arthur recalled his salt immediately upon seeing such waves, raising them up to avoid them entirely, a web to act as a platform to both walk around and attack from above. Zazel grew curious with his decision. "Strange...Why isn't he getting closer? He was so adamant about killing me, but he backed off when I used Focalor." He'd think to himself. He'd try to set up the sigil again, but would be cut off by such projectiles of holy white nearly cutting across his hand, forcing him to reel it back and try to scale up.

Even if he had the advantage, his fight with Adel gave Zazel enough knowledge to know that he isn't the best when it comes to extremely close quarters, needing a good enough space to both attack and defend.

Arthur, meanwhile, would try to rain down his salt into small segments, letting them take a solid shape and have them float in the air, taking the form of bullets and arrowheads in order to strike down the next sigil he would make. Every time Zazel tried to set one up, such a bullet or arrowhead would be prepared to break it. Even when he's making a platform to float upwards, they would still be struck down instantly, forcing him to fall back down and dodge the hail of salt that came down to his head. The demon can see the Hunter's eyes tracking him, his focus pinpoint on his location and direction, anticipating the next move he'd make and twitching his fingers, acting as a trigger to direct the salt into the target he wishes to hit. Zazel would start to do a small experiment, setting up two sigils: Seir and Focalor. Seir was made first in order to miraculously preserve his sigil during its construction and casting, at the expense of taking such damage himself, wincing and screeching as he felt such holy radiance cutting and ripping him apart. Despite such pains, he would cast Focalor around the area, being able to successfully catch the Salt within its waves, forcing Arthur to retreat once more. As Zazel sunk down, clutching his wounds, holding his breath, he would notice that the salt would begin to dissolve almost immediately upon contact, seeing such large heaps that were once a threat, now melting away into the sea itself.

He couldn't believe it. A weakness that can counter against the Hunter.

He'd get to work on exploiting it, summoning forth a few demons to ensure the process worked. The first was Beleth and Crocell, the sigils of the former replicating the latter, creating the demon in question: A humanoid with half of its body being mechanical, its skin and components a light blue with dark yellow lines acting as markings. The one marked as Beleth would be identifiable by a blue aura, whilst Crocell itself would emit a yellow one. "Ok...From what I read...This one's able to manipulate the water itself. Useless without a body of water, but with Focalor..." He'd think to himself as he'd summon his third demon: A Chandelier of silver and gold, a dragon's head at the top, constantly laughing as it floats around, its small, metallic wings flapping faster and faster the more he moved. He'd keep swirling itself between the two humanoids, taking in the salt within the water to pour it onto both of the Goetia's, blessing them with its own magic. The two demons start their counterattack, letting the ocean bubble and shoot out tendrils in the water's shape, the water quickly shaping itself in order to become a monstrous blob of tentacles and hands, all of them aiming to destroy as much salt as possible.

Arthur, seeing this strategy from miles away, would simply retreat back, using the halls to lengthen himself, dragging along Adel to prevent him from being a casualty, whilst destroying the area in order for the debris to pollute the water and apply more weight. Such weight, he assumed would be quickly overflowing such a beast and make it pop like a balloon, allowing him a wide opening on the Demon to ensure a quick and easy blow. As he did this, however, he could see something shimmering within the beast's head. The very Chandelier that would snicker as it would swallow the debris and let it blow up, pushing such waves in a direction where not only would it be impossible to escape from by standard means, but also pins him in a way where it would swallow up his cape and eat away the remaining salt within it, all of it in a convenient manner. The sigil of Seir's full effect was visible, the ability to provide fortune for the user, shifting the tide of battle by making such a chance be beneficial for the caster itself, with its effects amplified once summoned as a proper demon.

Despite such a boon and a perfect convenient scenario, Arthur merely took a deep breath as he'd reach his hands out. "So you cheated your way into a victory, as expected from a dastardly demon such as yourself. Don't think this is the end yet, boy!" He would yell as he'd let himself be consumed by the waves, his energy spiking, the bubbles being sporadic, the structures within it crumbling. Zazel's eyes were widened as he realized what he was doing, desperately trying to escape the sea creature he made before it was unleashed.

"Salt Magic! Evaporation!"
