Bella Scott stared straight at Edward Anderson's face, stepping forward and pulling open his collar.
He had two necklaces on his neck. The pendant of one was the small pistol he had given her years ago, and the other one was a brand-new necklace - the other gift she had asked for from him - with a golden bullet pendant.
He had really bought such a necklace but hadn't had a chance to give it to her.
She froze for a moment, then checked his pulse again, where there was no heartbeat.
She didn't know how she felt, just a blank in her mind, unable to think about anything and unable to figure anything out.
Seeing her almost breaking down, Snow Collins quickly supported her and tried to lead her away from the room where the body was prepared for burial.
"I... I'll sit here for a while," Bella found a seat and felt much better.
Cecelia Anderson sat beside her, the two held hands tightly, their eyes glued to Edward's face.
