I rubbed the cheek that my baby had kissed. Anis was really adorable. Hmm, maybe I should save up some money so I can take her to see some real penguins in Kuroyuki no San or Mizu no Kin. And also buy my little princess more lovely clothes. She would soon outgrow her onesies.
Although, Rose and my ma would probably want to sew Anis some. In that case, I could buy the best cotton for them.
As I arrived at the base, the familiar sounds of drills and machinery greeted me. I took a moment to breathe in the salty air, feeling the energy of the place wash over me.
"Hey, Saffron!" a voice called out, pulling me from my thoughts. It was Jason, one of Rodrigo's old friends... He had been at the western base until now, helping train new recruits there.
I turned away, ignoring him.
He chuckled. "Seems you're still on that high horse of yours. Thinking you're better than everyone else."
