Saffron PoV
Ma giggled as Anis nibbled on a small cookie crumb with her few baby teeth.
"Goo, yum, yum, Grama!" Anis said, beaming with joy.
"Aww, thanks sweetie!" Ma said, admiring her granddaughter.
Rose snickered and leaned over to clean chocolate smeared all over Anis's face with a napkin. "You're a messy little bunny, Anis! Look at you! Someone might think you're a chocolate monster," she teased, giggling as she wiped away the evidence of the cookie feast.
"Me no mon! Me coco bun!" she said, giggling.
Rose and I exchanged glances. Anis was getting better at speaking, and at such a fast rate, too. Every day, it seemed she was stringing together more words, and it filled me with such pride to see her grow.
"Coco bun, huh?" I said, patting her head. "Reminds me of a certain cocoa car."
Ma giggled. "She sure takes after your father's side of the family."
Kohei sighed.
Ma gave him a smirk. "Did you hope she would take after you? She would be a pretty dull baby if she did."
