Saffron PoV
I frowned as Rose walked away. Something seemed to be bothering her. What happened at my cousin's house?
Sighing, I followed Rose back inside.
"Saffy!" Ma said, beaming with joy as soon as I walked in.
"Da! Da!" Anis chirped as soon as she saw me. She was wearing an adorable penguin bib.
"Hey, that's new," I said, walking over to my little girl.
My daughter pointed at her bib with joy. "Pingui cu!"
I picked her up and bounced her in my arms. "Yeah, it sure is, but not as cute as the one wearing it." I kissed her lightly on the forehead.
Anis giggled, moving side to side like her auntie Alli would whenever someone complimented her.
Rose, who had taken a seat beside the high chair, smiled.
I smiled back, glad to see her look of worry wash away.
As I looked down, I noticed that the table was already set. Ma had served up generous portions of lasagna for everyone. Sil was happily digging into his plate, a look of pure delight on his face as he savored each bite.
