Rose PoV
After eating, Saffron activated his angel tool equip and jetted us back home. The trip back felt like a blur. Well, more like it literally was with how fast we were going.
I smiled at Anis's plushie again and giggled as I imagined her shaking each of its hands.
Saffron slowed down as we neared our home and his mother's home.
"Think Anis is asleep?" I asked, staring at the octopus yet again.
He hummed. "Probably. We did take our good time."
I frowned. While it was nice, I wonder if it was selfish of us. We told Anis we would be back soon and it was already past nightfall.
Saffron seemed to sense my unease, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze as we landed softly outside his mother's home. "She's in good hands," he said gently, his gaze steady and comforting.
I nodded, taking a deep breath to steady myself. Together, we approached the front door, and I sighed as I rang the doorbell, hoping we hadn't worried our little girl too much.
