The industrial plaza was now silent, the sounds of their battle fading into the night. But the air still crackled with tension, that's thick and heavy, like the calm moment before a storm. We had just taken down four of the most dangerous villains the city had seen in years, but I could feel something in my bones this was just the start of something bigger.
We'd catch our breathes when Master Arashi's voice came through the earpieces.
"Mikael, Tetsuo, Yori, Matthew... good work, but there's something you need to know. There's a new player in town, and they're already making their move, I wish that I could ask anyone else but, they're too busy carrying other missions."
Mikael glanced at his teammates Yori, still panting but looking proud in tiredness, Tetsuo, who was wiping blood from his lip, but didn't flinch, and Matthew, always calm and calculating. They were all in the same mindset as him, ready for whatever came next. They'd just faced hell, and now we had to face more.
"Who are we talking about?" Tetsuo's voice was steady, though his fists were clenched. We all knew the answer wouldn't be good.
"A man named Demon Slasher," Master Arashi says gravely. "A name you might've heard whispered in hell. He's a warrior, cursed by his past and bound by vengeance and brings terror to Demons. But his power is unlike anything we've ever seen. You'll have to be strategic if you want to defeat him."
"Demon Slasher?" Mikael repeated, his voice full of disbelief. The name alone sent a chill down his spine. "I thought we were done with all those people that could cause serious destruction, I was hoping that we could finally go back to the academy and relax, but I guess the world didn't work like that. Not when there were villains who just won't quit in it"
"Where is he now?" Matthew asked, his eyes narrowing, the gears in his mind already turning.
"Approaching the city center. But since your kids. He'll go easier on you. He is a very powerful individual, all with his demon killing agenda. You have to stop him before he ruins up most of the city, his rage sometimes gets to his head." Said, Master Arashi
Mikael looked over at his team. They had no choice. No time to waste. We couldn't afford to let Demon Slashe tear the city apart over a few demons. The adrenaline from the earlier fight hadn't even worn off, and now we had to go again.
"We're going after him." as Mikael said with confidence. "I was the one who always pushed forward. Maybe it was my youth, or maybe it was my love for action, but I could feel it. The fire burning in my chest. And it wasn't just from excitement it was for the adventure."
The streets were eerily empty as Mikael raced through the narrow alleys, our footsteps echoing in the silence. He led the group, keeping his senses sharp. The city was always alive with noise, but now it was still, as if the world was holding its breath.
"Can we trust Master Arashi's intel?" Tetsuo asked quietly, his eyes scanning the shadows around us.
Mikael shot him a glance. "We don't have the luxury of doubt. We go in fast, hit hard. We're better off getting the jump on them than waiting for their next move."
Yori's expression was unreadable, her usual fiery demeanor replaced by something colder. "If he's as powerful as they say, we'll need more than just brute force."
Mikael nodded. "Exactly. This time, we strategize. Matthew, you're on acknowledgement."
As Matthew didn't need to be told twice. He was already slipping into the roofs, his movements smooth and quick. He was the kind of guy who didn't need orders to know his role. He just knew.
They had no idea what we were up against, but they knew they have to be ready for anything.
As they turned the corner, a low tiger growl echoed from the alley ahead. It was deep and menacing, and it sent curiosity in Mikaels mind. His heart raced with excitement, and he would instinctively make blue flames appear, the familiar light hum of power through his hand.
Suddenly, from the shadows, a figure stepped forward tall, imposing, wearing a helmet, his eyes glowing like fiery embers. He wore a blackish purple, tattered space armor that keeps him protected by demons around him as if caught by an unseen wind. His face was unseen, his presence was fierce, like he'd been forged in the fires of hell itself.
"Well, well," he spoke, his voice a gravelly whisper. "So, the little demons think they can stop me?"
Mikael clenched his fists. "We aren't demons. We're not letting you tear this city piece by piece."
The Demon Slasher's presence grew darker into a twisted aura, and without warning, he lunged. As it was like he moved six times faster than light speed as he move swift, relentless, and that with no hesitation. The speed of his strikes were very unimaginable, but Mikael was ready. Mikael darted to the side seeing it and reacting to it quicker, narrowly avoiding the chain that wrapped around his fist, a weapon so deadly it could tear through stars.
"You're pretty fast, boy," he says as, his eyes flicking to me. "But speed won't save you all the time."
We were already in the thick of it.
Tetsuo was the first to engage, throwing a series of calculated strikes that landed solidly on the Demon Slasher's chest. But the Man hasn't even flinched. A sickening smile spread across his face as he shifted his weight, grabbing Tetsuo's arm and with easiness, he twisting it in a way that made the ground beneath them crack with the force of it.
"Are you dumb or is you stupid," Demon Slasher hardly, slamming Tetsuo to the ground.
Before Mikeal could react, Blaze Hunter, the mysterious Wraith Spectre, appeared from the shadows, his fiery chains slashing through the air like an extension of his body. His eyes glowed red with a fury that matched the flames that enveloped him. He had joined the fight, and now it was personal.
"Get your hands off him, it's me you want Slasher!" Blaze says with seriousness, swinging his chain around with incredible force. The Demon Slasher barely had time to raise his arm before the chain wrapped around it, pulling him into a stunning blow.
But even with Blaze's help, they were outmatched. The Demon Slasher's power was otherworldly. His strikes were fast, his reflexes brutal. Every move he made sent shockwaves through the air, rattling our bodies to the core.
"Not. Good. Enough. At All." Demon Slasher's voice was barely a whisper, but it was filled with malice. "You will burn demon of hell."
As they fought, a new presence emerged from the darkness a tall figure with sharp features and cold, calculating eyes. Darkout, the genius tactician and genetically enhanced powerhouse, had arrived.
"I'll try to handle this," he said coolly, his voice steady. "I've studied this man, he's way to powerful. He's relying on brute force. That's his weakness."
In a flash, Darkout was upon the Demon Slasher, his enhanced reflexes allowing him to avoid the slasher's brutal combat style. He moved with precision, using his advanced knowledge of combat techniques to disarm the Demon Slasher with surprising effectiveness.
But the Demon Slasher wasn't going down that easily. With a savage stare, he launched himself into the air, pushing all of his strength into a ground-shattering strike.
Mikael could feel it in his gut this fight wasn't just about physical strength. It was about power. Power to protect. Power of might and justice.
With a flash of brilliance, I broke through. I broke the fourth wall.
From the nothingness, I pulled what I needed, a vibrant Jian sword thats neon blue with light particles that glint strong with nine small black stars that move around a sword crafted from the molecules. The Demon Slasher's eyes widened in recognition.
"You're that... kind of hero..." he muttered, his tone dripping with disdain.
I grinned. "Yeah, I'm the kind that wins and who's kind hearted."
In a blur of motion, faster than the light speed, I lunged forward, the sword cutting through the darkness, through the chaos. A single strike powerful, righteous landed with a resounding crash and the Demon Slasher... was defeated and retreated to hell to fight other demons besides going up against Blaze hunter.
They stood in the aftermath, breathing hard, sweat mingling with the cold air. "You did it, but I'm no demon. It's just my weird ability " Blaze Hunter said, his voice calm, his face unreadable. But Mikael didn't know. Didn't know about this power he had just witnessed.
