Purple Summers felt a headache coming on.
She sat down in front of Norton Young and told him, "Five years, that's the plea agreement from the prosecution."
"...Five years?" Norton's body swayed, seemingly in disbelief, "I haven't done anything... and they want to lock me up for five years?"
"The evidence is highly unfavorable to you, and the victim personally identified you as the perpetrator." Purple sighed again, "Norton, as much as I want to help you, under these circumstances... I think the risk of going to trial might be even greater."
Norton froze, staring blankly at Purple, "So... you're suggesting I accept the agreement, five years?"
Purple pursed her lips and said, "I'll go talk to them again, try to get it down to four years... "
