After lunch, Alexander Summers left the island for work.
The election campaign was now drawing to a close, and he, the candidate, had been barely engaged. It was only toward the end that he found time to deal with campaign tours, television interviews, and the like.
Alexander was pleased with the arrival of Zara Jameson and Jane McCain. It was perfect timing because his wife would have someone to keep her company while he was away from the island, giving him some peace of mind.
Once Alexander had left, the three girls sat cross-legged on the sofa, drinking tea and snacking.
Having witnessed Purple Summers' appetite firsthand, Jane McCain was astounded. Now, seeing her eat again, she couldn't help but ask, "Will you keep eating like this?"
"That won't be the case," Purple shook her head and gestured to her belly, "Later on, when the belly gets bigger, the stomach will be squeezed, and I'll feel full after eating just a little bit."
