Bai Lu, Wei Guiren, and even Fang Mei all fell to the floor in the next moment. The first things to become overwhelmed were their hearts, followed by the rest of their bodies. Their knees gave out, and they collapsed to the floor with sickening thuds. It sounded as though their kneecaps had been shattered.
They could not process anything that was going on. They could not think, and moving their bodies would require the gods of the ancient past to come into being. This was impossible, and so the trio had no choice but to stay on the ground. They were helpless lambs brought to the slaughter. One would think that they were being pushed to the floor by some kind of power, but the truth was more terrifying. They were in this miserable state because they dared to hear the name of one of the eternal taboos.
Its weight was unbearable, and for people as weak as Fang Mei, this name was enough to force them to an undeserved grave.
