Chapter 8 - Lunch Together

Aito entered the classroom humming softly, showing his good mood. The seat next to him was still empty, but he didn't mind.

Yesterday's incident was still fresh in his mind. Junan received his lunch!

This morning, Aito made a breakthrough. Thinking that people only had lunch, but not breakfast. Didn't they wait too long for lunch? So Aito brought another bag in his hand this morning.

He glanced back at the seat next to him, before hesitating to put what he brought on it. The more he thought about it, the more he hesitated, just put it down!

A steamed bun that looked still hot wrapped in plastic was now perched on Junan's desk. Now Aito returned to focusing on reviewing before class, he used to feel that the progress of the mission was fast so that studying felt difficult.

Now he also had to focus on studying! "Remember Host, you need to maintain your third rank." The system wisely reminded Aito which made him frustrated.

This mission was indeed not easy! He focused on his textbook, trying to absorb everything written there. His small mouth bit the steamed bun quickly, like a little hamster.

That was the sight that Junan witnessed as soon as he entered through the back door of the classroom. Glancing at his desk which now also had an object that he was sure was the same.

This little one ... just yesterday he seemed like he was about to cry, but now he's already brought another one. He snorted as he sat down in his chair which distracted Aito.

Realizing the seat next to him was now taken, Aito hesitated to greet him. He was afraid of Junan's response to seeing him bring him breakfast.

The corner of his eye looked to the side. Which was quickly caught by Junan, as if he had been watching his movements all along.

"That ... morning Maruyama-kun, breakfast for you," Aito greeted, forced to speak under the gaze of his deskmate.

The closeness that writhed timidly made Junan ticklish. "How did you know that I haven't had breakfast?" Junan threw an unexpected question, even Aito didn't think he would answer his greeting.

"Just guessing." Aito swallowed his saliva with difficulty. Afraid that his actions were wrong.

"Oh, you're wrong."

The timid eyeballs were completely round. Then they dimmed realizing what the other party said. It seemed like he had indeed done something wrong.

"Oh, sorry then," he said as he pulled back the breakfast he had brought.

The little one was like an abandoned animal. He snorted in amusement at that.

Hearing Junan's snort, Aito looked back at him. There was a rare playful gleam in Junan's eyes. Wait, had he just been fooled?

His face was pensive for a moment, before he hurriedly replied, "Maruyama-kun, please eat breakfast first!"

Aito put down the steamed bun as fast as lightning and he also looked away pretending to focus back on his book. Just for a moment, Junan didn't expect his response to be like that. Was he sulking?

Even though he thought about it, it didn't mean he had to change something. Junan crossed his arms on the table again, about to fall asleep.

The lesson started, Aito saw that the breakfast was still intact and his deskmate had fallen asleep again. He was a little disappointed, but that didn't mean he didn't expect it at all.

"Host, don't worry, the favorability has increased by 11%, keep trying, Host!"

The system's words reminded Aito that his efforts really had an effect. He felt relieved, even though he didn't eat it directly, at least Junan didn't leave a bad impression with his actions.

. . .

"Boss!" An enthusiastic greeting with a cheerful face came to greet him entering the classroom.

Just when everyone had gone out for a break. Two people who had been regulars entered their class.

Behind him was a tall, thin man, his face was clean and looked calm. "Kouto, don't run around in the corridor," he said as he entered the classroom.

The one who was reprimanded was big with an innocent face and a bright smile still shining, not feeling guilty. "Yuki, you're too strict!" he replied with a typical grin.

Hearing noisy things around him, Junan got up and looked at the two people who were already in his class. "Boss, let's go! I want to eat ramen today!"

Kouto, who was mentioned earlier, was the first to realize that Junan had woken up. Yuki nodded behind him.

"Isn't that a gift from your deskmate? It doesn't look like a sandwich and peach juice!" Kouto saw an interesting plastic bag, opening it to find that it was a steamed bun.

"Boss, isn't this breakfast! Oh, the little one is bringing you breakfast too!" His enthusiasm made Junan get up from his chair. He strode past the two of them.

"Boss, aren't you going to take it?" Kouto pointed to the steamed bun that still hadn't moved on the table.

"No need," Junan replied shortly.

Kouto, who saw Junan leave, followed behind him, as did Yuki. The two of them had known Junan since they were little, living in the same neighborhood, more precisely Kouto.

They were both neighbors. Kouto's extrovert nature made it quite difficult for Junan to deal with and only let him follow him. Only in junior high school, Kouto brought his classmate Yuki to befriend Junan. The three of them were still in the same school during high school.

Junan rarely paid attention to eating, whether it was breakfast or lunch. If it wasn't Hanazawa Kouto and Sasaki Yuki who were already a package taking him here and there to try this and that, Junan didn't pay attention to trivial things.

The three of them sat at the ramen shop bar, with their own bowls of ramen. Kouto was still the most enthusiastic, greedily finishing his food. "Ojisan, one more bowl!"

"You're really going to gain weight," complained Yuki sitting next to him. While Junan just watched.

Kouto watched, showing off his muscular biceps. "Look, this is muscle, not fat!" he argued.

Yuki could only shake her head. No longer cared.

"Oh, boss, isn't the little one going to bring you breakfast on Friday too?" As Kouto remembered, every day Junan received lunch from his little deskmate.

In response, Junan just nodded. "Too bad, he doesn't know that we always have lunch together every weekend. But don't worry boss, just give me the lunch, my stomach still has room!" Kouto patted his newly filled stomach quite hard.

Yuki's gaze seemed to mock "shameless". While Junan kicked the chair Kouto was sitting on as a warning.
