Anna let out a soft sigh and walked over to gently lift Xaviar and shift him to the side. Xaviar mumbled a few sounds, yawned, and slightly opened his eyes. Seeing Anna, he gently closed them, snuggled into her arms, and then let her move him aside to continue sleeping.
Anna pulled the quilt over Xaviar. With the absence of Xaviar's laughter, the room suddenly became eerily quiet.
Anna had initially planned to sleep on the sofa tonight, but Jeremy Thompson had been sitting on it all evening, engrossed in a travel guide. She felt uncomfortable asking him to give up the sofa for her.
In the end, with no other choice, she moved towards the queen size bed, and Xaviar had already changed his sleeping position. Perhaps feeling warm, he'd kicked off the air-conditioning quilt with his feet and had his hands raised above his head. His plump, tender legs and arms looked like chunks of lotus root.
