Chapter 35 - Unsecured ponders

The Red Porsche came to a halt following a continuous drive of three hours.

"Did we arrive?" Neva gazed out at the rustic lodge standing before them.

The coffee coloured home-like structure, the tenuous vines of flowering little ruby roses decorating glimmered Neva's eyes.

"Yep. It's a secluded lodge in Eudora. We're safe here. Atleast until tonight." Sky responded, mumbling the last share of words.

When they got out of the car, Neva caught a glimpse of Ace.

Discerning her gaze on him, he turned to her. Ace smiled at Neva.

Ande he felt his heart skip a beat, when she offered him a lovely smile.

She slid the jacket off her shoulder and held it out to him with both hands.

"Thank you for your jacket. I'm sorry I got it all wet and mucky."

Ace shook his head, "It's fine. You can keep it." He grinned.

Neva agaped her mouth to refuse when Rhett seized the jacket from her and hurled it to Ace.

Ace instinctively caught the jacket.

"Keep the damned rug to yourself." Rhett mocked.

"We should get inside." Sky remarked, strolling towards the resort.

Hunter followed suit, while Rhett grasped Neva's hand and led them in.

Ace sighed, fatigued by his leader's temper and ambled behind.

---

An hour later, Neva and Rhett both freshened up in their robes, laid snuggling on the bed.

"I've asked Sky to get you some outfits." Rhett uttered, peppering small hazy kisses on her neck. Neva hummed, her sight riveted to the ceiling. Rhett caressed her left hand, peering at the sparkly ring on the ring finger.

Feeling him play with her fingers, Neva glanced at him. "What is it?"

Rhett exhaled. "Thank you for being safe. I can't believe, I let something like that happen." He frowned, heart churning I'm anger and dismay.

She gently pinched his cheek, securing his guilty eyes with her calm ones. "What are you thankful or in sorrow about?"

"You just breathed in life within me. I would have certainly been done if not for you Rhett." Neva affirmed, sucking in a sharp air.

"I love you." Rhett smiled, leankng in and kissing her tenderly.

Neva slithered her fingers in his fluffy hair, stroking his scalp—passionately drifting back his affection.

Deep into the moment, he closed their bodies way so auspicious. Lavishing her soft body, his rough hand jerked her body closer to his chest, smoothly gliding on her curves, drifting to clench the flesh on her waist.

He licked her sweet strawberry brims, and she easily granted him entrance, letting him dominate the dance of the tongues.

"Will you always be with me?" Rhett inquired in a small voice.

Neva chuckled, still getting her breathing in control. "Of course."

"Do you love me?" He earnestly asked her.

Neva furrowed her brows. He was being discrete. When she didn't respond, his face dropped.

Taking her aback, he captured her lips, smoothly hovering over her.

It was a slow heated kiss. Filled with passion and desire.

Neva fisted her hands on the collar of his robe, bringing him closer.

He drew her bottom lips between his teeth, nibbling her, making her mewl from the sensation. Slitting Neva's juicy brims with his tongue, he roamed it through her warm mouth... Sucking her soul out...

The air draining out of her, she pushed him away by the chest.

Their lips swollen and shiny. Heavy breaths fanning on each of their lips.

"Is something bothering you?" She asked him, swallowing the saliva now blended with his own.

He covered one of her hand on his chest, fondling with it. He swiped the wet edge of lips with his tongue nervously.

"Is your feelings for me affected by that man?" He swallowed.

"No. Why would it be?" Her brows sinked. What made him think that so?

He sucked in a sharp breath.

"It's just, if your memories return someday." He swallowed again. His just brittle voice.

"Will it change—your feelings for me?"

Neva glared at him, chuckling after. "You are really stupid Rhett. I'm in love with you, not him. Nothing can change it. Besides we can't even confirm if he's telling the truth."

Neva raised her head, softly brushing her lips against his.

He immediately responded by kissing her deeply. Her velvet lips invigorating.

Pulling away, Rhett pouted down at her. Lowering his head to nestle in the crook of her neck.

His arms sneaking through, raising lightly her back, embracing her in—laying moulded with each other.

She smiled, encircling him in, her fingers lovingly stroking his mellow hair.

"Marry me Neva." He murmured, his hot breath fanning her silky skin. His voice muffled, buried in her neck.

"I have the ring as a vow on my finger." Neva affirmed.

"I'll get the papers ready. We'll be married before the new year." Rhett declared, committed to make her lawfully his as soon as possible.

She sighed. "Marriage is not a play Rhett. We can't rush it."

"This is not a good time anyway."

Rhett felt a brewing ache in his chest.

"You think I'm playing you?" He asked, hurt evident in his voice.

"He propped himself up with both arms steadying his body over, on either side of her frame.

She puckered her lips, and brought back her hands to the chest.

"Do you still not trust me?" He coldly asked. His voice alarmingly low.

"No, it's not like that," Neva reasoned, her heart numbing.

"How is it then? I thought we were past thinking I was playing you Neva." He scoffed.

"Am I a joke to you?" He coldly stared down at her with bleak eyes bleak, angered at her slow acknowledgement of his feelings.

She frowned, eyes brimming with tears. "How can you say that?"

"Do you think so little of me?" Hurt, she shoved him off of her and on his back.

Rhett immediately regretted. He let the unsecured emotions take over.

He sighed deeply, thumb and index finger massaging his glabella.

His mind was a mess. This situation and the past happenings taking a toll on him.

But Neva must had it harder.

Life had taken a drastic turn. It was probably impossible to get back on their daily life like before.

He cursed himself.

He was just afraid. Because he thought he was lose her.

And he was the most frightened he had ever been.

"I didn't meant it Neva."

"I'm sorry."

She didn't reply.

Rhett glanced at her ruefully.

Neva's seated on the sofa by the coffe table near the window, a menu in her hold.

She silently picked up the telephone place on the coffe table and rang.

Rhett just lowered his eyes knowing he messed up.

"Good evening. This is rosewood lodge. How may I help you?" A gentle manly voice said from the other side of the receiver.

"Hi, can I please get a milk bread, chicken permigiana and veg chop suey for two person. And two drinking water bottles and a cola as well please."

"Alright ma'am. What will you have for dessert?"

"Oh, um..." Neva hastily flipped the pages for the options on desserts.

"Creme caramel will do.''

Hanging up, she placed down the device. Sensing footsteps, she looked up to Rhett walking towards her.

She glanced away, picking up a random magazine from the table and absendmindedly flipping through the pages.

Rhett say next to her and wrapped her up in his arms, burying himself in the crook of her neck. He breathed in deeply her fresh floral scented mellow skin.

"I'm sorry Angel." He mumbled, his moving lips vibrating on her flesh.

Neva didn't show a single flicker of emotions. Sulking and upset she unbinded his tangling frame from her. She pushed him away harshly and stood up.

He followed her frame sadly as she ambled towards the window.

"Neva..." his tone was almost begging.

"Please don't be upset." He marched after her, attempting to seize her wrist only for him to be swatted away.

"I'm such a jerk," He cursed. Standing still.

Just then the doorbell rang, Neva without sparing a consciousness to his presence trudged to the door.

Through the peephole, on the other side of the door, revealed Sky.

Twisting the door knob open, a charming smile from Sky greeted her. "Hi. Here, some of your necessities that Czar asked me for."

She handed Neva plenty of bags. "Thank you Sky.'' She returned a grateful smile.

"Anytime." Sky winked an eye at her.

"These are some of Boss's belongings," Ace said, appearing out of nowhere beside Sky. He gestured at his hands occupied by bags.

"Thank you." She smiled and took the bags.

"My pleasure." He grinned sleepishly.

"Then, see you later." Sky bid goodbye, dragging the reluctant Ace as he waved at her.

Neva waved back at him.

She suddenly felt he bags being seized away from her hands. Glancing at the culprit, Rhett took all the remaining bags from her, freeing her hands.

She closed the door behind walked back in.

Rhett placed the bags on the sofa and she picked up one of the paper bags and looked into it.

"We'll leave the country at dawn. Get some rest." Rhett said behind her.

Neva did not respond, so he sneaked his arms from behind, tangling around her waist.

"Please don't be mad at me Angel." He said. "I can't take you ignoring me." He peppered kisses on her jaw.

She didn't acknowledge him or propelled away, continuing to survey the items on the bag.

Too sad to care. She didn't expect such gruelling words from him.

A flowed one of the rose beiged sundress pinching the hem, which grabbed her attention. She was too busy admiring the intricate details.

That was what she lied herself to.

His stupidly sensible, romantic actions almost mellowing her heart.

But she was adamant on standing on her ground. He deserved it being so rash and harsh with her.

"The dress would look gorgeous on you." Rhett still interweaved to Neva attempted to flatter her.

"Leave me!" She struggled to push him away, tussling in his hold.

Rhett squinted his eyes, mischief rippling his blood.

He tickled her waist, shrinking Neva's tummy in a beat.

As she tried to elbow him away, he held her all tightly with an arm.

The other hand, floating up her neck, he tickled her there, her lips breaking out in a cackle.

Losing her hold, the dress got tossed on the ground.

Mercilessly he attacked her on all of her sensitive spots.

Neva's tough demeanour cracked, she laughed hysterically, suffering in his rigid clasp.

The predator chuckling along.

She strived to free herself, only for their tangled forms to end up on the bed with tears pooling in her eyes.

"Sto-stop!" She exclaimed.

Laughing friendziedly...

And then he carresed her there.

Rhett stilled, his large hands cupping—perfectly fitted on her swelled breasts.

Impulsively Rhett squeezed the rounds, relishing in the new soft sensation of her flesh, earning a sharp gasp out from Neva.

He was just trying to keep her in place. It was nothing. But a twist of fate.

His eyes met her own. Neva's gaze trailing on him then his hands on her tender chest. Wrinkled brows and confused orbs.

The next moment, she violenty kicked him on the stomach, knocking him off.

He fell thud on the floor, Neva hurriedly adjusted her disheaveled robe, wrapping close, preserving her innocence.

She glared down at him.

"I-It was a misadventure I swear."

'A fortune of an award for me.' He thought, smiling up at her couquettishly.
