Chapter 20 - Freeing Charybdis and Leaving Jura

AN: Sorry for the delay. I finally moved out of my old place and into my new one, however, due to a clause in my lease that I require 60 days notice rather than the usual 30 days, I was forced to pay for my apartment for an extra month, which means that for april, I'm paying for two places. This is because breaking the lease would be more expensive than the extra month, so I've been putting in crazy hours lately (I mean 60 hours last week and 55 hours this week). Thats why I haven't uploaded in a bit.

I also updated the Veldora and Luminous profiles and swapped the Powers and Abilities page into a terminology page. The terminology page just explains what certain powers/abilities are.

.~.~.~.

"Are you sure this is wise, Lord Veldora?" Treyni asked as I stood before the complex sealing matrixes in front of me.

"Wise? Probably not. Necessary? Absolutely." I returned.

"Papa's strong, don't worry Tree-y" Scylla stated.

"T-Tree-y?" Treyni asked in exasperation at Scylla's name for her before Helga placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.

"Please calm yourself, Lady Treyni. Lord Veldora may be... like that, but he has never lied to us." Helga stated.

"Saying it like that makes me seem like a menace," I stated, a bit deflated.

"Is it? I only stated the truth, though?" Helga commented back to me, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"Man, Rimuru's guard is a cute big-breasted Oni who fawns over him. Why do I have to get the sarcastic one?" I complained to myself.

Helga feigned shock and embarrassment. "That's sexual harassment, Lord Veldora!"

I rolled my eyes. Apparently, after her test inside the illusion trials I set up for everyone, Helga, the heiress to the Gyuuki Tribe, had become disillusioned with 'The Great and Powerful Storm Dragon Veldora' and started to treat me more casually. I didn't really mind, as it was far better than everyone treating me like I was some kind of godlike being who could do no wrong, however, after she was assigned as my personal guard (more like babysitter) by Rimuru, I got to hear all of her... options about me.

"I mean, is this what its like whenever I am being an ass with Rimuru?" I asked under my breath, reflecting on my actions.

"Papa's callous invitation for a threesome with Ma-Luminous probably didn't help things either," Scylla answered.

My face gained a slight blush in embarrassment. "Did you just almost call Luminous Mama, also wait, how did you find out about that!?!" I asked Scylla, only catching what she said after it took a moment to process it.

Scylla smiled smuggly. "Secret."

My eyebrow twitched at that, but I decided to ignore it and go back to freeing my daughter from her cycle of reincarnation. As I gazed at the magical formation, a thought struck me. Despite this being a sealing spell, it was remarkably similar to the [Unlimited Imprisonment] Skill used on myself, though this one had a lot of flaws and could be broken with raw power after enough time. It seems to compensate for this; some kind of reincarnation spell was also weaved into the design so that after someone subjugated the creature who broke out, it would always return to the seal rather than be reborn elsewhere in the world.

"Hmm. Smart move..." I muttered before shrugging my shoulders and turning to the others. "I'm releasing her now. Please deal with any monsters she summons as you see fit." I told them, to which they all nodded.

Seeing confirmation, I turned back and began to undo the seal. It wouldn't take long, despite how complex the seal was, due to having already analyzed [Unlimited Imprisonment], it was much easier than it should have been normally.

As the light of the sealing magical circle began to fade, a powerful miasma burst forth from what remained at the center of the magic circle. The core of a powerful being with energy values to rival that of an Awakened True Demon Lord shimmered in the air as energy violently swirled around it.

I whistled. "Well, at least my eldest isn't weak," I stated to myself as I summoned another Dragotite Skeleton Golem from my [Complex Space].

Scylla stepped forth. "Sister, forgive me but this may hurt a bit." She stated as tentacles emerged from her back and shot towards Charybdis' core, wrapping around it tightly. All the while, the tentacles were being violently cut apart and slashed by the rapidly rotating energy and regenerating at an even faster rate.

Scylla flinched. "Are you alright?" I asked her.

Scylla nodded. "Elder Sister is being... difficult! She is trying to merge with me." Scylla stated as she began to pull Charybdis' core towards the Dragotite body before gently pressing it in.

I took a step towards Scylla and raised my hand, sending her magicules, which she could use to recover, while also watching as Charybdis began to merge with her new host body. It didn't take very long for a humanoid appearance to take over the form and begin to glow faintly. This body had been implanted with an Astral Body which contained the 'shell' of a personality that Rimuru, Luminous, and I had created for it. We needed to do this so that Charybdis would have an actual ego and not just be a mindless monster rampaging about. Unlike Scylla, Charybdis didn't have a personality, so we made her one.

It wasn't like we created it entirely for her; it was more like an outline of a personality that she could fill out herself. It was also closer to just saying it was a group of memories that helped Charybdis, not essentially start out as a baby when we gave her the new body. She'd know all of the basics of living as a young woman, such as general knowledge about the world, knowledge of reading/writing/arithmetic, how to use toilets, etc. Rimuru even added an Extra Skill to it called [Sage], which would boost her comprehension and aid this process.

I was a little apprehensive about it, but after seeing Charybdis, or I guess Charys now, fully formed and standing nude in front of me, I had to say that it was the right choice.

"How do you feel?" I asked, walking up to my daughter.

Charys blinked a few times, scanning the room, before locking eyes with me. "Fine... for now. This is... different." She stated hesitantly.

I nodded. "That's what happens when you suddenly gain consciousness after being sealed for so long," I stated sagely, as though I knew I, too, had gone through the experience.

Charys nodded slowly before looking me up and down. "So you are..." She asked cautiously.

I smiled. "I'm papa!" I said confidently as Scylla nodded vigorously while Helga facepalmed.

Charys looked at me with a blank stare. "I get the feeling I somehow shouldn't look up to you..." She stated, shocking me as my confidence collapsed and Helga snorted in an attempt not to die of laughter.

...

"Rimuru! I'm back! I've got another big sister to introduce to you too! Oh hey-" I yelled, swinging open the door to Rimuru's office without a care in the world, only to see him in the middle of a meeting with some scruffy-looking humans, all of whom were staring at me in a bit of shock. "Who are the scruffy-looking humans?" i asked.

Rimuru sighed, clearly exasperated, while I spotted Shizu shaking her head lightly with a smile on her face. "This is Fuze. He's here with the Adventurers we met before and some new ones we haven't," Rimuru explained.

I nodded my head, giving everyone a once-over.

The oldest-looking scruffy man looked over to Rimuru, looking a bit annoyed at being interrupted by my bold entrance. "Un, Master Rimuru, who is this?" He asked probingly.

Rimuru, not catching onto Fuze's probe or exasperation, answered simply. "Him? That's Veldora." He said, matter-of-factly.

"""V-V-V-Veldora!!!!""" All the humans were yelling in a panic.

I raised my hand and then waved off their concerns. "Relax! I'm not going to eat you or something unless you threaten my home (this place)." I stated before moving onto Rimuru. "Anyways Rimuru, this is your eldest sister, Charys, though humans call her Charybdis." I introduced.

"Oh, hello there." Rimuru said calmly.

"C-Charybdis!?!" The humans all yelled in shock again.

Charys, either not caring or not noticing the fear in their shocked expressions, simply bowed to the room. "It is a pleasure to meet you all. I have heard much of you from father's-I mean Papa's bragging about you." Charys stated, though she changed 'father' to 'Papa' due to Scylla's insistnace.

Rimuru bowed slightly and politely. "It is an honor to meet you as well, sister." He stated politely.

Fuze, now dripping with sweat, mustered up the courage to interject at this point. "M-Master Veldora... might I ask what you are planning to d-do with Charybdis?" He asked, seemingly not wanting to truly hear the answer.

I looked at him. "Hmm. Nothing really. She's my daughter so I decided to revive her and have her live here. She's pretty cunning. She probably takes that from my side of the family!" I declared.

"She takes her rampages from you too..." One of the adventurers muttered to himself under his breath, thinking we couldn't hear him, but we could, and I chose to ignore that.

"Anyways, now that you two have met, I'm off to see my wife!" I stated, turning around and walking out the door.

Shizu chuckled, seeing me leave. "What is he, a kid? Arriving to announce his new friend and then going off to play?" Shizu kept chuckling.

"Well, at least it'll be quiet for the next couple of days." Rimuru sighed, not knowing of a pink meteor having already began her journey racing toward Tempest.

That was the last of the conversation I heard before I separated from Charys. Apparently, Scylla wanted to show her around Tempest herself, so I was left with nothing to do after dropping her off. I also decided that I would go see my wife, though as I was beginning to leave, I noticed a bit of observation magic in the sky and sent a small shot of magic through it.

Not enough to kill whomever was on the other side, but enough to destroy whatever device was being to monitor us on the other side as a warning. I couldn't blame people for being curious, but even I wanted some privacy from time to time and hated people who peeped.

I didn't know it at the time, but I'd actually just seriously injured Clayman with that attack, as he was using a Skill to project the image rather than magic, so my shot was akin to a small attack directly to his soul. Not that I cared too much, as it also led to an interesting event during the next Walpurgis, but that's a story for another time.
