Chapter Three
The unexpected unison felt just like a scene straight out of a movie.
Sofia Hamilton was momentarily stunned by the call. Brianna Wood smiled and took her hand, pulling her forward, "From now on, you are the young lady of this family, Sofia. This is your true home. If your father knew you had returned here, he would be so happy."
"In the future, you'll have to get used to how everyone addresses you, and also..."
Brianna hesitated to speak, appearing unsure of how to continue.
"And also what?"
"About your name. If it could be changed, that would be even better. It would make it easier for you to inherit your grandfather's estate later. Look, your current name includes the word 'Sofia,' so we can keep that and call you Austin Baker. How does that sound?"
"Austin Baker?"
"Yes, privately we can still call you Sofia. It's just that your official documents would need to be updated."
