Jocelyn hung up the phone after she uttered the last word.
Amelia held her phone in a daze for a moment, then slowly let out a heavy sigh.
Owen took off his coat and scarf, setting them on the sofa, and sat down beside her. Seeing her sigh but before he got the chance to ask why, Amelia spoke up, "Jocelyn said she won't like you anymore."
As Amelia spoke, she folded her legs beneath her on the cushion of the hanging chair, resting on her knees. She brought her right hand up in a fist to Owen's mouth, adopting the rehearsed smile of a host and playfully asked, "Sir, now that you have one less admirer, do you feel very disappointed?"
Owen looked down at the mischievous look of the little girl before him and smiled, lifting his hand to hold Amelia's little fist and kissed it, paying no mind to her words.
With a smile, Amelia leaned back into his embrace.
