"Mr. Moreland, what a coincidence." The refined man seemed to know Owen Moreland and came over to greet him.
Owen shook hands with him, his demeanor both scholarly and graceful.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the bespectacled man turned his gaze towards Amelia Clarke.
Owen spoke calmly, "This is my wife."
The bespectacled man's eyes, hidden behind his glasses, flickered with surprise before he greeted Amelia with a smile, "Mrs. Moreland, hello, my name is Andersen Fletcher. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Amelia smiled, "Hello, Mr. Fletcher."
Andersen said, "Mrs. Moreland, you can just call me by my first name."
Amelia smiled again but said nothing.
Andersen glanced at Amelia. Although Mrs. Moreland was young, she looked like someone not easily fooled.
He turned and called out to Jocelyn Griffin, "Jocelyn."
Jocelyn had been pained by Owen saying 'This is my wife,' and it took her until the third call to hear him.
"Jocelyn, come here," Andersen called a fourth time.
