The nurse quickly brought over Lily's little quilt, and Amanda Smith spread it out for her. Lily cheered, crawled in, and fell asleep hugging Samuel's arm.
Lily had a habit of taking afternoon naps and would fall asleep quickly once in bed. Samuel turned his head to look at his daughter's soft, delicate side profile, feeling his heart melt completely.
He reached out cautiously and touched Lily's cheek, unable to suppress a chuckle, "Lily looks so much like you. They say daughters usually resemble their fathers, but apart from her eyes, she doesn't look like me at all."
Amanda walked over and sat down by the bed, looking at her daughter's face and gently kissed her, "Didn't you say you wanted a daughter? Now that she's here, you're complaining."
Samuel laughed twice, "Do you think I sounded like I was complaining just now?"
