"Amanda Smith fell silent for a while and turned her head to glance at Mrs. Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson beside her smiled awkwardly, her facial expression barely hanging on.
"I will go and speak to Evan," Amanda Smith nodded, "If he agrees, I will give you his address."
"That's good."
Donald Johnson nodded with a smile, looking at Amanda Smith, and said warmly, "From now on, we are all family. Your friends are naturally friends of the Johnson family."
Amanda Smith smiled, but her smile carried a touch of coldness.
Some barriers time cannot erase, the wounds left by words and deeds are not so easily forgotten.
She could forgive what Samuel Johnson had done to her, but that didn't mean she could forgive what the Johnson family had done to her; loving Samuel Johnson didn't mean she had to love the Johnson family.
For her to accept Samuel Johnson's parents all at once was indeed asking too much of her.
