The Gunai mansion was way more better than what shan expected but kira wasn't moved by it's elegance because he has always maintained his aura of I don't really care and has this mindset that everything revolves around him, one would call him An Egoist . As they both entered the Gunai mansion shan was still hyperventilating due to the stress on her muscles and lungs from the run, she sat beside a corner where she waited for kira to elegantly arrive.
On his arrival they both set out to explore the mansion, this been their first time got them confused due to the complexity of the mansion they had to rely on people's directions to know where to go . It was customary for over a million years that when one turns 15 he comes to the Gunai mansion to be ranked the ranks can either be alpha,beta,gamma, sigma and Delta. Kira and shan were still looking for the administration department where people are ranked. They finally got to the place and had to wait in a cue. The cue was unexpectedly long this made shan thought to herself "does it mean that hundreds of people turn 15 every day" she was kind of amazed at the population present despite the previous war that reduced the world population by 40% .
The wait felt like eternity to kira but he endured it without showing a hint of emotion one would say his emotional control is off the charts.
"Kira akabe " the woman in the office shouted. Kira on hearing his name rushed to the office where he was asked to enter a box like chamber and close his eyes so as not to interrupt the ranking. He entered and the place was dazzling with light, though the chamber was small he was well contained in it. After a few seconds the woman asked him to come out and gave him a paper. On his way out he couldn't resist the temptation of checking out his rank and low and behold he is a sigma. That's to be expected though given his personality, he was more or less moved but he gave a faint smile and walked out of the office.
As he walked out shan followed him and came out later with a teary face because she was ranked beta . She has always hoped to get an alpha or sigma ranking but she convinced herself that her rank is better than Delta and gamma that it's still a good rank.
Those that are ranked were guided to the orientation hall where they were taught the rules of hunt and the meanings of their ranks.
