Raven hummed cheerfully to himself as he thought about last night. The bushy haired girl had gotten with the plummy boy and Rose, and had come to find him before the "detention" the bushy haired girl had.
They had tried to use Rose as a means to lessen his "anger" against them, and he had decided to play the roll of the busy annoyed person who was already losing time due to NEWTS.
He had made a big show about it and digging through his "personal" collection, a lie, he just created it out of view inside a bag, and shoved it in Rose's hand before storming off while glaring promising retribution.
He now waited for them to say something.
"You tricked Hermione." Rose stated with clear certainty, and he titled his head. He honestly had no idea who this Hermione was, was that the name of the bushy haired girl? Maybe the plump boy, weirder names have been had.
"I don't know a Hermione." He replied with boredom he did in fact feel right now.
"The bushy haired one." Rose said after a moment and he smiled.
"Oh, I see. Well I have no idea what you're talking about. I did no such thing. Imagine my surprise after I spent the time actually brewing the polyjuice potion for you three, all while studying for my NEWTS, and I feel my wards tripped by that girl and someone else. Then I eventually arrive and the potion is gone, and so were the two people." Raven frowned as he thought about how he deserved an Oscar for this.
"You pretended to be Professor Snape and told Hermione she had detention while pretending to vanish the potion. Professor Snape took points from her for pretending to have a detention with him after dinner last night." Rose said angrily and he smiled at her from behind his book.
"I did not such thing, I don't have time for such pranks or jokes." He had the time, he just wanted to spend his time studying avoiding people. Humanity was slowly gaining his distaste even more as the days passed by, besides a few. Even then, that was slowly changing.
"Fine, but I know it was you." Rose said angrily as she stormed away, quietly, as she was in the library.
"What a tempered girl she is. One day, those flames will burn her out." Raven muttered as he glanced at her over his book before returning his full focus on it.
•~~~~•
"Huh?" Raven asked confused to Rose as he stood by her as they stared at the area where Hagrid's hut was. The chimney as always smoking away.
You'd think that he'd at least have some space expansion charms put on, but you know what they say, a man takes pride in what he created, and Raven knew Hagrid built that hut himself piece by piece.
He pondered on if he should build a house himself?
"Because I found a hint about the chamber of secrets being opened 50 years ago, and Hagrid attended Hogwarts then." Rose said and he hummed.
"So he could know who opened Salazar's chamber. Hm, whoever opened it last time was probably a student like us, so their child is probably attending now. How fun~" Raven purred at the end. Rose raised an eyebrow at him, but didn't say anything.
"Yes, but it doesn't make sense how or why Hagrid is so nervous." Rose said and Raven titled his head at her.
"Someone didn't do their research~" He teased as he waved a finger at her and she smacked it hard, only to hiss as her hand hurt from that.
"What is your hand made of, metal? An what do you mean I didn't do my research?" Rose asked and he chuckled at her.
"Flesh most likely for your first question. As for your second, you did find out Hagrid attended fifty years ago, but one thing is that you forgot, he was expelled. Blamed for the death of a student who died with no injuries, all because he had a pet acromantula. However the students injury report didn't have anything about a bite or poisoning. So obviously…" he trailed off and looked at her expectedly.
"He was framed, and Headmaster Dumbledore knew this, so he willingly hired Hagrid as grounds keeper and keeper of keys." Rose said in realization and Raven smiled at her.
"Good, and yes, Albus is such a nice guy. Willing to hire people like this who need it." Raven said with a grin and hummed as he sensed an unfamiliar group of magical people, wizards, enter Hogwarts, though one was slightly familiar, he had sensed it before.
Oh well.
"Time to go interrogate the gentle giant." Raven said cheerfully as he began strolling down to the hut, Rose quickly followed after him trying to keep up with his strides. She cursed his height allowing for this big strides compared to her shorter height.
Raven smirked at her grumbling.
"Huh, what are you two doing here, it's almost curfew time?" Hagrid asked confused as he scratched his scruffy beard.
•~~~~•
"So you want to know about the chamber opening fifty years ago. How do you even know about all that?" Hagrid asked, and Raven idly noticed his Hagrid accent had gotten better, still there, but it was getting better.
"I went and visited the ministry and read through the files available to the public. Wasn't that hard~" Raven cheerfully sang out.
Of course he didn't say he spent a whole day digging through the unorganized files. He left an anonymous tip to the head of several departments for that, with not so nice letters.
He'd have taken someone's head if that was the clocktower.
"I see. Well I can't tell you too much, I shouldn't be telling ya anything, but you're good kids. The girl who died, Myrtle something, was found dead in the second floor girls bathroom. No injuries, but dead, and I was blamed since Argog was found in my room." Hagrid said and Rose connected that with what Raven had said.
"Myrtle, that sounds familiar." Rose muttered and Raven answered her.
"Moaning Myrtle, said dead person, haunts where she died in that bathroom. You think they'd interrogate the ghost of the actually dead person, but no, the ministry is incompetent as always." Raven complained, and neither of the two there could argue against it.
Fang barked suddenly just as there was a knock on the door.
"Quick you two, out the back door." Hagrid whispered and Raven and Rose moved out the back door as Hagrid quickly emptied the cups of water he offered them and moved them with the dirty dishes, before he went and opened the door revealing two auror's, the minister, Lucius Malfoy and The Headmaster.
Raven and Rose quietly listened with their enhanced hearing as the minister arrested Hagrid to be seen doing something. Raven had his eyes linked with Fang for this, oh he couldn't wait to cause some chaos with that.
The last thing Hagrid said was "follow the spiders to know the truth" before he was silenced by the auror's.
Raven and Rose incidentally happened to just now see a trail of spiders leading into the forbidden forest.
"Tomorrow we can investigate, you are tired and angry, rest up." Raven said as he glanced at Rose, he could feel her magic brimming and boiling, just wanting to come out and cause chaos.
Rose huffed angrily before she stormed off under her invisibility cloak.
Raven chuckled as he took his crow form and took flight. He made sure to care constantly to be an annoyance.

The next day, Raven and Rose were following the spiders in the forbidden forest, Raven had a light ball floating around them as a light source.
However when they came upon a very spider web covered area, Raven knew they had arrived.
Slowly a giant spider appeared from a large hollowed tree, it was the size of a small elephant.
"Not like they're a dead apostle with an army of ghouls." Raven muttered to himself, but in that moment a ton of smaller, but still equally big, spiders came about surrounding them.
•~~~~•
Raven huffed in annoyance as he stabbed his spear into the head of a spider as he spun around while the spear changed into a sword and cutting a spider in half covering them in its blood and guts.
They had a nice conversation going with the elephant sized spider, which could apparently speak fucking English somehow. He shrugged it off though, he's seen worse.
Images of behemoth and the beating he received from the beast flashed as he a snarl momentarily formed as he backhanded a spider full force and it was splattered into pieces.
"Oops." He muttered before he side eyed Rose who was doing fine as she was manipulating fire to do her bidding and burning the spiders, occasionally using other spells.
She was doing fine, so he focused on his main target, Argog, the leader. With a wave of his wand, he send all the spiders around him flying away and he moved forward and appeared in front of Argog and kicked it up as its fury legs shot out to defend itself, but it was for naught as Raven summoned his wings to defend himself, though he was sure they wouldn't have done a thing, and shoved his spear through its head and then proceeded to rip it off. He put his wings away once he kicked the spider down.
All the spiders in the area froze momentarily, and all those able started running immediately without care.
"Looks like we're done here." Raven said as he approached Rose still covered in guts and blood of the spiders.
"Looks like someone is due for a shower, or ten." Rose muttered as she held her nose to try and block the nauseating smell.
"Hahahahaha!" Raven laughed joyfully as he waved his wand and he was cleaned up and smelt good. He did the same for Rose.
"Teach me that spell!" Rose said as she got in front of him and stared him in the eyes, and Raven for once actually felt intimidated by another person who wasn't a full grown adult.
He was impressed.
"I'll teach you it later, for now, we should return to the castle. You need to rest." Raven said as he noticed her reserves at half from the sheer amount of spells she used.
"What about you?" She asked and he smiled.
"Nothing new for me. I regularly hunt dead apostles over the summer." Raven answered with a cheerful smile as Rose stumbled as they started walking.
Raven caught her with ease, but that led to them looking into each others eyes.
Dark blue eyes stared at brilliant green eyes before they blinked and he helped her stand up fully before continuing on walking.
However they both had one thought.
What was that?

Meanwhile in the regular world, some man wrote a book remembering his own experiences.
"Some would say the eyes are the window to the soul."

Later that night, Raven returned to the forest and gathered a a couple dozen of the giant spiders up, while they had been fighting, he had felt something in the spiders, he had thought it to just be their magic, but it was exactly the same, and magic was never just exactly even. Someone always had more or less, never just the same, unless it was a game.
"I can feel it." Raven mumbled before he placed his hand close to the spider as his form shimmered and he was in his true form. A black glowing ethereal version of the spider was pulled of it before the spider just fell limp and died. However the glowing version in his hand just sat there, he stared at it and let go of it immediately as the thing dissipated.
Raven clutched his head as information flooded in. On just what he had done. It was the goddamn soul he just ripped out of them.
The most important thing for a being.
Raven rubbed his head as he sighed and focused. He needed to know the limits of this ability, and he had perfect test subjects.
That night the screeching of dozens of spiders was heard as everyone avoided that spot for months.

Hi everyone, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, we're getting close to ending this short year. Four more chapters to go.
Anyway I wanted to mention something a commenter brought to my attention, you know who you are, I don't have the energy to go back and forth typing your name, sorry.
Raven should actually be 15 right now, not 16. I guess I was really sleep deprived to not notice that.
Hogwarts here starts at 13, and he turned 13 a full momth before starting Hogwarts. July 31st, since he shares the same birthday as Rose. If only a year earlier.
So he should be 15 right now.
Ravens first year: 13
Summer 14
Ravens second year: 14
Summer: 15
Ravens third year: 15 (now)
Summer: 16
So he's technically underage, so I've decided it was good I decided to put off lemons. He's a child lmfao. He's still getting some off screen, but not on screen for a while.
So he won't get a on screen lemon till at least let's see-
1st year: 13
2nd year: 14
3rd year: 15
4th year: 16
5th year: 17
6th year: 18
7th year: 19
So yeah, not till at least 6th year will I provide an actual lemon for this series, just for safety sakes, and my own crumbling sanity and morals.
Anyways thank you person, you know who you are.
Till next friends!
I woke up early and ended up writing this chapter, now I gotta clean out my closet so I can put a dresser in there. My closets a fucking mess lmfao.
Bye~
