Chapter 82 - The Cube

Meanwhile, T'Challa, in the newly donned Black Panther suit, entered inside the Avengers mansion, and introduced himself.

"I am T'Challa… son of former King of Wakanda."

He explained the dire situation—how his homeland had been overtaken by M'Baku, the Man-Ape, who seized the throne and ruled Wakanda through fear and intimidation.

The Avengers, hearing it, agreed to help him, and they together went towards Wakanda, to help T'Challa reclaim his family's throne.

In the heart of Wakanda, the battle for the kingdom raged under a burning sun and a sky thick with tension.

Black Panther and Captain America stood side by side before the towering figure of Man-Ape (M'Baku), now seated upon the throne that had once belonged to T'Challa's ancestors.

M'Baku growled, pounding his chest.

"You were foolish to return, T'Challa. This throne is mine now!"

T'Challa stepped forward, eyes sharp beneath the Panther mask.

"That throne belongs to Wakanda—and I will take it back."

The duel began—two titans clashing in a storm of blows, strength against skill, tradition against honor.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the city, Iron Man, Wasp, and Gaint-Man were engaged in a fierce confrontation with Ulysses Klaw, now a monstrous being of living sound energy.

Klaw cackled, his body pulsing with raw sonic vibrations.

"You can't stop me! I am sound itself!"

Wasp darted around him, dodging sonic blasts.

"He's not just loud—he's dangerous!"

Ant-Man shrunk down, avoiding a devastating wave.

"Tony, you got a plan? Please tell me you have a plan!"

Iron Man scanned Klaw's form, locking onto the sonic emitter embedded in his abdomen.

"Found it. Time to turn down the volume."

With precise targeting, Iron Man unleashed a concentrated energy beam, blasting the emitter. Klaw let out a final distorted scream before his monstrous form collapsed into silence.

Back in the palace, T'Challa delivered a powerful finishing strike, disarming M'Baku and sending him crashing to the floor.

"Wakanda… will never fall while I still breathe," he declared.

The crowd of Wakandans erupted in cheers as their true king reclaimed the throne.

Later, in the royal hall, with peace restored and Wakanda secure, T'Challa stood before the Avengers.

"I am in your debt," he said, bowing. "But I do not offer only gratitude—I wish to stand with you. Not just as king, but as ally… as Avenger."

Steve Rogers stepped forward, offering a hand.

"Then welcome to the team, Black Panther."

Few days later, in the busy streets of Manhattan. Iron Man, Wasp, Black Panther, and Captain America were chasing Hawkeye, who was jumping across rooftops trying to escape.

The chase wasn't easy—there were many obstacles, and the team had to work hard to keep up. Eventually, they managed to corner Hawkeye, ready to capture him.

Iron Man gave the order, "Capture him."

But just then, a S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft suddenly arrived. Inside was Agent Quartermain, a mysterious agent.

His sudden appearance distracted the Avengers, and Hawkeye used that moment to escape.

Iron Man was furious and shouted at Quartermain.

"You let a traitor get away. Stay out of our business!"

The team was upset, realizing they had just lost their target.

Quartermain calmly replied that S.H.I.E.L.D. needed the Avengers' help for something very serious.

"This is extremely important," he said, hinting that there was a bigger problem coming.

In the Nevada desert, Iron Man and the Avengers were flying in a special S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft. Around them, fighter jets were escorting the team. No one knew exactly where they were going, and that made everyone a bit uneasy.

Tony Stark was clearly annoyed. "I'm not happy about the secrecy," he said, his voice tense.

"Why won't you tell us anything? Not even a word about Nick Fury?"

But Agent Quartermain, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent flying with them, didn't give much away.

"We can't say anything now," he replied firmly.

"It's better if we show you the problem instead of explaining it."

The Avengers exchanged concerned looks but waited as the aircraft kept flying toward their unknown destination.

Then, on the horizon, something strange came into view.

A huge green glowing dome stood in the middle of the desert, surrounding a facility known as The Cube—a high-security prison for dangerous villains.

Captain America, shocked by the sight, pointed and said, "Look over there! What is that...?"

Iron Man quickly analyzed it with his tech.

"That dome is made of pure Gamma Radiation," he explained.

"Something serious is going on in there."

The team now understood that this wasn't just any mission—something incredibly dangerous was waiting for them inside The Cube, and it was powerful enough to need a radioactive energy shield.

As the Avengers tried to process the strange green dome, a tall, muscular man with long green hair approached. It was Dr. Leonard Samson, a scientist they had known before—but now, he looked very different.

Years of gamma radiation exposure had changed him, making him stronger and more powerful. But despite his new appearance, his worried expression said it all.

He scanned the group, clearly disappointed.

"Bruce Banner isn't here?" he asked, hoping the Hulk had come.

The Avengers shook their heads.

"No," said Captain America, "Banner's still off the grid."

With a sigh, Dr. Samson took control of the situation. He played a video showing what had happened recently inside The Cube.

"This was a joint mission," Samson explained, "S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hulkbuster units went in to secure the facility..."

On screen, the video showed the soldiers sneaking into the dome—then suddenly, The Abomination, a huge gamma-mutated monster, attacked them.

"They were ambushed..." Samson continued, "but that wasn't the worst part."

The video cut to a horrifying moment: the soldiers, after entering the main chamber, began to change—their skin turning green, their muscles swelling—they were transformed into Gamma Monsters.

The team watched in shock.

Then Samson revealed the villain behind everything.

"The one responsible is called The Leader—a gamma-powered genius. He built the dome, and it's not staying put. It's growing."

He pointed at a live map showing the energy field slowly spreading.

"If we don't stop it, it will reach a town in a few hours."

The Avengers stood in silence for a moment. The danger was real—and time was short.

Finally, Tony Stark broke the silence with his usual dry humor.

"So... who wants to go in first?"

Samson opened a nearby crate and revealed special radiation suits—sleek, high-tech, and clearly custom-made to protect them from the gamma radiation.

"These will help keep you safe inside the dome," he said.

Hank Pym, always the scientist, examined the suit and nodded.

"Good. With these, we have a chance to survive inside."

The Avengers suited up, mentally preparing themselves to enter the zone filled with dangerous mutants and high radiation.

Clad in their radiation-resistant suits, the Avengers stepped cautiously into the heart of the expanding gamma dome.

Dr. Samson led the way, joined by Quartermain and two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. The green haze within the dome gave everything an eerie glow.

"Stay sharp," Steve Rogers warned, his shield raised. "This place feels wrong."

Suddenly, a low growl echoed through the air. From the shadows, massive figures emerged—twisted, hulking forms. The previous strike team, now mutated into grotesque Gamma Monsters.

"They were agents," Quartermain muttered. "Now look at them..."

Before there was time to react, the creatures charged.

"Here we go!" Iron Man shouted, blasting a monster square in the chest. The beam barely staggered it.

Wasp darted around one's head, distracting it. "Tony! These things aren't going down easy!"

"Tell me something I don't know!" Iron Man replied, dodging a swinging fist.

Panther and Steve fought side by side, coordinating precise attacks. "Left knee, then the throat!" Panther called out.

Steve swept the monster's leg while Panther delivered a crushing blow to its neck. The beast dropped with a thunderous crash.

One final creature, disturbingly Hulk-like, roared and charged. Steve braced with his shield while Panther leapt over it, landing a disabling strike at the base of its skull.

With the last mutant subdued, silence fell over the battlefield.

Dr. Samson approached the fallen agents, scanning them. "Good news—if we get them out of the dome's radius, their mutations should revert."

"That's a relief," Wasp exhaled, then glanced at Samson. "You handled yourself pretty well back there. Ever think about joining the Avengers?"

Samson gave a half-smile. "Maybe later. Let's survive this first."

Suddenly, Panther narrowed his eyes. "It was too easy. The Leader wants us here."

Iron Man's faceplate clicked shut. "Then we give him what he wants—and shut that generator down."

The Avengers moved deeper into the gamma dome, the air grew heavier. A sudden pulse of energy made the ground tremble beneath their feet.

"Something's wrong," Panther said, narrowing his eyes. "We're not alone."

Before he could say more, a thunderous blast knocked the team off balance. Figures emerged from the shadows—twisted, glowing with radiation.

The U-Foes.

"Welcome to The Cube," Vector sneered, floating above them with an eerie green glow. "We didn't need to beat the Avengers to win…"

Before anyone could react, Zzzax roared and surged forward, lightning crackling across his body. The electric entity struck the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and Wasp with terrifying speed, burning through their gamma-resistant suits like paper.

"Wasp!" Steve yelled, reaching for her—but it was too late.

Wasp screamed as her body twisted and shifted, her limbs elongating, her wings growing jagged and glowing with radioactive energy. She collapsed to the ground, then rose, no longer the woman they knew—she was now Gamma Wasp.

From a hidden control room above, The Leader watched, a smug grin curling his lips.

"Perfect," he whispered, adjusting a sleek, pulsing crown device on his head. His eyes glowed briefly with power. "Wasp... put the good doctor out of his misery."

Inside the dome, Gamma Wasp turned, her gaze locking onto Samson. Her wings buzzed ominously, and she lunged at him with razor-sharp claws.

Samson backed away, his voice strained. "Janet, fight it! You're stronger than this!"

But there was no recognition in her eyes.

Thor leapt between them, Mjolnir charged with lightning. "Stand back, doctor. She'll not harm you while I still breathe!"

The Avengers braced themselves once more—not just against their enemies, but against one of their own.
