Chapter 523 - Chapter 523 Challenge

Not long after Menchi left, another person knocked on the door and came into the room.

It was none other than Shizuku, who was eliminated in the initial stages of the Hunter Exam.

Because Menchi provided her with the location of the final test, Shizuku had managed to meet up with them in time.

"The final test has already started."

Shizuku shut the door behind her and looked over at Moses, who was sitting cross-legged on the bed.

Moses slowly retracted his Aura and asked, "Since you're already here, don't you want to join in the fun?"

With Shizuku's relationship with Menchi and Moses, it wouldn't be hard for Shizuku to watch the event, even as an outsider.

"It just seems like it would be boring, so I don't really want to go."

Shizuku plopped down on a single-seater couch next to the bed and took out a romance novel with a pink cover.

Moses chuckled at her reply, then suddenly recalled something and curiously asked: "Shizuku, how did you not make it through the initial rounds? Couldn't find any clues?"

"No, I found the clue."

Shizuku put down the novel and said seriously: "And I even located the venue for the first phase, but I just happened to forget the password, so I missed it."

"You forgot?!"

Moses raised his eyebrows.

Although he knew Shizuku was forgetful, he didn't expect it to be so exaggerated.

"You could have written it down on a slip of paper. That way, you wouldn't have forgotten."

Moses suggested, thinking that even with her level of forgetfulness, she probably wouldn't forget a note she was holding.

Hearing Moses's suggestion, Shizuku was stunned for a moment, then fell into a thoughtful silence.

After a few seconds, a look of sudden realization appeared on her face as she exclaimed:

"That's right, as long as I write it down on a piece of paper, there's no need to be afraid of forgetting it."

"…"

Upon hearing this, Moses silently rubbed his forehead.

'You little silly goose...'

Moses sighed softly in his heart.

Looking at his silent expression, Shizuku regretfully said: "If I had thought of that at the time, I could have taken the Hunter Exam with you, Moses."

"It's alright. I'll go with you next year if you want."

Moses replied with a gentle smile.

However, Shizuku shook her head and said, "Forget it, I'm not really interested in getting a Hunter License."

The reason she took the Hunter Exam was simply because both Moses and Menchi were examiners this year.

Moses softly added, "But a Hunter License is really convenient. For example, you can go to many prohibited countries and restricted areas."

"Yeah, I know."

Shizuku raised her index finger and placed it on her chin.

With her index finger resting under her chin, Shizuku thought back to her travels with Moses and Menchi, understanding that a Hunter License allowed access to 90% of restricted countries and 75% of forbidden zones.

Seeing this, Moses asked again: "So, do you want to reconsider it? It will be much more convenient for you to go wherever you want in the future."

However, Shizuku shook her head again and seriously replied: "But I have you, don't I?"

"…"

Upon hearing this, Moses burst into laughter and gave up the idea of persuading Shizuku to get a Hunter License.

Afterward, Shizuku continued reading her romance novel while Moses resumed practicing the Bone Plating.

A few hours later, Menchi returned with the results of the final test.

Out of twelve candidates, only Bourbon, No. 103, was eliminated, while the other examinees passed the final test.

"Master, there's a meeting later to explain the benefits of the Hunter License. Would you like to go?"

Knowing Moses wasn't interested in the final test itself, Menchi skipped over the details and simply asked if he'd like to attend the briefing.

After a moment's thought, Moses nodded and said, "Might as well take a look."

"Great!"

A smile appeared on Menchi's face, and then she glanced at Shizuku, with eyes that seemed to say: 'You idiot, just stay here and wait!'

Shizuku didn't pay attention to Menchi's eye attack and kept her head down, absorbed in her novel.

Moses and Menchi then left the room and headed to the meeting room.

At that moment.

Beans stood at the podium explaining the perks of the Hunter License, with Netero, Satotz, and Buhara seated nearby.

Sitting under the podium, Hisoka and the other ten examinees were listening to the explanation given by Beans.

Just then-

Moses and Menchi arrived at the meeting room.

With Moses's arrival, the atmosphere in the conference room became noticeably stagnant.

Everyone's gaze shifted toward him, including Hisoka and the others.

When Moses walked into the conference room, he first looked around at everyone present. His gaze paused for a moment on Raizo, because he felt the undisguised fighting spirit coming from him.

Slowly retracting his gaze, Moses turned to look at Beans and said apologetically: "Sorry, did I interrupt?"

"Oh, not at all, Mr. Moses."

Beans replied with a slight shake of his head.

Moses gave him a small smile and took a seat next to Netero with Menchi.

Half an hour later, the briefing concluded.

Hisoka and the others all received their Hunter Licenses issued by Beans, and most of them looked thrilled.

Moses looked at the people who were looking through their Hunter Licenses, thinking, 'There were a total of 11 examinees who had obtained Hunter Licenses this year, so the Hunter Association would have to send eleven members to teach Nen to these newcomers.'

'It would take at least several months to teach these people Nen Abilities.'

'Just don't look for me.'

Lost in his thoughts, Moses suddenly felt a gaze on him.

When he turned his head to look over, he saw Netero stroking his beard and looking him up and down with squinted eyes, then nodded, as if he had made a spur-of-the-moment decision.

"?"

A bad premonition flashed through Moses's mind, but when he looked again, Netero appeared as calm as ever, as if nothing had happened.

After the briefing, everyone left the conference room one after another.

"Moses Isaac! I challenge you!"

Raizo, in his samurai attire, blocked Moses's path outside the conference room.

Everyone who had not yet walked far immediately looked at Raizo with strange looks in their eyes.

'What on earth was this guy thinking. He actually dared to formally challenge that examiner?'

As the person involved, Moses did not expect that Raizo, who was exuding a fighting spirit in the conference room, would challenge him so straightforwardly here.

For a moment, Moses and Raizo became the center of attention.

At that same moment.

Two figures came to the oasis and looked up at the building in front of them that served as the final test's venue.

"Sigh… Why did I have to come to a place like this?"

One of them complained, the one with fat figure.

This person is Milluki from the Zoldyck Family.

The person traveling with him was a 'girl' with a watermelon-like hairstyle, a beauty mole at the corner of 'her' mouth, and a face as delicate as a doll.

This person is Kalluto, the fifth son of the Zoldyck Family.

"We're here."

Kalluto said calmly, ignoring Milluki's complaints as he gazed at the building in front of them.

They'd come a long way, tasked with a single mission: bringing Killua home.
