Ruby's gaze remained as cold as ice, her eyes sharp and calculating as she observed the man before her. She could see the desperation in his eyes, the way his hands trembled ever so slightly as he clenched them into fists. His attempts at control were slipping away, and Ruby was relishing every second of it.
"But you," she began, her voice dropping to a quiet, venomous whisper, "you missed it all, didn't you?" She leaned forward, her eyes never leaving his face. "If you hadn't sent your foolish child into that car to meet me, none of this would have gone wrong. My plan... would have been perfect."
