Ahalya is a daring girl with a good attitude. She trusts everyone easily, and often ends up heartbroken. She lives with her grandparents in the city, as her parents work far away. They left her with her grandparents so she could focus on her studies.
Ahalya: "Hi!! Are you Agastya?"
Agastya: (just nodded his head)
Ahalya: "I love you!"
She handed him a rose and proposed.
There was complete silence. Agastya felt butterflies in his stomach. Siddh couldn't understand what was happening—he was just watching them like a confused monkey. Agastya was stunned and completely lost in the moment.
Ahalya: "Excuse me? Agastya?"
Agastya: "Ahh!! Yes... Yes..."
Ahalya started laughing: "Hahahaha..."
Agastya: "Why? What happened?"
Ahalya: "It's me, Ahalya! Your school friend. I just saw you and decided to prank you."
Agastya: (took a second to remember) "Ahalya!!! What a surprise! You used to look like a little monkey back then. And now... you've turned so beautiful. If I had known this before, I would've liked you back then itself!" (teasingly)
Ahalya(scratching her head): "Just like I said earlier!" (turning to her friends)
Agastya: "Which dialogue?"
Ahalya: "I told my friends you're a total dialogue king."
Her friends (in chorus): "Yes! Yes!"
All of them burst out laughing.
Agastya took his phone and saw five missed calls from his mom. He got a bit tense.
Agastya: "Okay, friends, I've got to go. Let's meet tomorrow!"
Ahalya and her friends: "Okay, bye! Bye!"
Agastya and Siddh took off on their bikes and returned home. After reaching, Agastya realized he forgot to ask for Ahalya's number. Just then, his mom called him for dinner. He sat at the dining table, still smiling to himself.
Mom: "Something good happened today?"
Agastya(turning to her): "How do you know?"
Mom: "It's written all over your face!" (she smiled gently)
Agastya: "Is it that easy to read me?"
He looked down and then began narrating everything that happened that day to his mom. He was so happy, words were pouring out of him with excitement. His mom observed everything.
Mom(teasing): "Ohhh, so she's the reason for your happiness today?"
Agastya(shy): "Mooommm!!"
Mom: "Eat now. Your favorite—Carrot Halwa."
Agastya: "Wow!! Thanks, Mom! You made my day! Yummm!!"
Mom: "Well, I didn't make it. It was given by the new girl who moved in next door. She's in the same college as you. First year too."
Agastya: "Ohh? Interesting. What's her name?"
Mom: "Adithi."
Agastya didn't think much of it and finished dinner. He said good night to his mom and went to his room.
Later that night, while making his bed, he suddenly heard a scream outside. Curious and alarmed, Agastya looked out the window and saw a girl arguing with a man. The girl was covered in blood and shivering. A small girl stood behind her, hiding.
Agastya rushed outside.
Agastya: "What happened?"
The girl was scared and silent at first.
Agastya: "Don't worry, you can trust me."
She slowly pointed at the man.
Girl: "He… he…"
Agastya: "Look into my eyes."
She looked up at him.
Girl: "He tried to harass this little girl. I came to help, and then he tried to attack me too. We barely escaped. That's when I screamed for help!"
Suddenly, the man lunged at her again, but Agastya acted fast—twisted his arm, broke his leg, and pinned him down. He called the police and handed the man over.
Girl(crying): "Thank you so much!" (folding hands)
Agastya: "Don't cry. Let's go to the hospital."
He took them both to the hospital. While registering their details:
Agastya: "Your name?"
Girl: "Vrinda."
He completed the registration and called their parents. The little girl was unconscious from the shock. Later, their parents arrived at the hospital in panic.
Parents: "Thank you so much for helping them!"
Agastya: (smiled and nodded)
He went back home. His mom gave him a proud look but didn't say anything. She sent him to freshen up. He cleaned up and lay on his bed. As he closed his eyes, the image of blood-covered Vrinda screaming for help flashed in his mind. He woke up sweating—it was already 6:00 in the morning.
Agastya stepped onto the balcony with a cup of tea, wearing a blue vest and cream-colored track pants. Watching the sunrise, he suddenly remembered the new neighbor. He turned toward their balcony and saw a girl in a white shirt and shorts, with straight brown hair, walking inside. He couldn't see her face.
After finishing his tea, he got ready for college. As he rolled out his bike and exited the gate—BAM!—someone bumped into him from behind.
Agastya, furious, parked his bike and turned around.
Agastya(angrily): "Can't you seeee—" (his voice softened as he saw her)
A girl in a red chudidhar, with free-flowing hair, a bindi, and a nose ring on her left side—stood apologetically.
He was mesmerized.
Girl: "Sorry... sorry!"
Agastya(still dazed): "Why sorry?"
Girl: "I hit your bike!"
Agastya: "No, no... It was my fault. I suddenly came out of nowhere."
Girl(relieved): "Okay!! Can I go now?"
Agastya: "Yes, yes… sure."
She was about to leave when Agastya stopped her.
Agastya: "What's your name?"
Girl: "Adithi."
She smiled and left.
A few moments later, Agastya snapped back to reality and yelled,
Agastya: "Adithi!!! I won't spare you!"
He looked at his bike and whispered,
Agastya: "Sorry, my darling…" (gently patted his bike)
