Yes, Robert had already sensed the vampire's actions when he began healing himself. Unlike Clark, who might overlook such things even with overwhelming strength, Robert could detect almost any manipulation of energy, spirit, or soul.
Robert had many abilities. If faced with some extremely niche special powers, he might not notice. But as long as it didn't transcend the three major categories of energy, spirit, and soul, it was hard to escape his detection.
Robert hadn't stopped the vampire's actions for a simple reason: these two were too weak compared to him. Robert felt that he might not learn any crucial secrets from them.
Unexpectedly, the werewolf, out of fear of death, had spilled everything. This made Robert think that the reinforcements the vampire had called might not have any useful information either.
When the vampire and werewolf heard Robert's words, their pupils shrank. Especially the vampire, who hadn't realized that Robert was aware of his every move. He thought Robert hadn't noticed him at all.
Realizing Robert's strength and that his reinforcements hadn't responded, the vampire felt a chill. He understood that if Robert had seen through his plan, he had little chance of surviving.
"Shhh!"
"Swish!"
Thinking this, a surge of power erupted from the vampire, making him vanish instantly. He wanted to seize the chance to escape while Robert hadn't acted yet.
The vampire knew he couldn't die by Robert's hands. If he did, there would be no one left to report Robert's ability to counter vampires.
The vampire had no hope in the werewolf helping him, considering the werewolf's earlier behavior.
"Do you think it's a bit too naive to try escaping now?" Robert looked at the fleeing vampire with disdain. A burst of energy erupted from him, transforming into a field of lightning that enveloped the surroundings, quickly capturing the disappearing vampire.
"Crackle!" The lightning seemed like a shocking display of electrical power, not only trapping the vampire but also causing his body to emit smoke, similar to when he was exposed to sunlight but different in nature.
Sunlight caused intrinsic damage to the vampire's core power, while the current lightning inflicted physical harm and destruction.
Though the lightning didn't harm the vampire's core directly, it still posed a life-threatening danger, making the vampire writhe in agony.
"Gasp!" The werewolf beside him took a cold breath. Robert's abilities had already terrified him, and now he showed a new power. Although the werewolf's defenses were stronger than the vampire's, he doubted he could withstand such electricity.
"No! I can't die here. I have vital information to deliver..." The vampire, feeling his impending death, was filled with fear and unwillingness. He realized that Robert's current attitude was different from before. Initially, Robert had wanted to extract useful information, so he only punished lightly. But now that he tried to escape, Robert wouldn't let him go, and he had to find a way to survive, at least a bit longer...
"Shhh!" With a surge of desperation, the vampire's power reached its limit. A bat with a human face appeared within the lightning, struggling fiercely.
As the grotesque bat appeared, the vampire completely lost his human form, but his power peaked, even healing his injuries, as if he had used some forbidden technique.
Unfortunately, some power gaps can't be bridged by using forbidden techniques. Even though Robert hadn't used his full power, the difference was still insurmountable.
"Shhh!" Robert's lips curled into a smirk, seeing his catch struggle on the hook. He released more energy, further trapping the vampire, who felt a new wave of despair.
The vampire's pain subsided not because Robert's power weakened but because his consciousness grew faint. He was nearing death...
"Stop!" Just when the vampire thought he would die, a shout broke through, jolting his mind awake. With his last bit of strength, he tried to convey his critical information to his kin.
"Thud!" But in the next moment, the vampire's consciousness faded completely as his body was obliterated by the lightning. Once Robert decided to kill, there was no resisting him.
"Bastard!"
"How dare you!" Two angry voices followed as two shadows rushed at Robert, who could sense sharp forces attacking him.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
In an instant, two figures flew back faster than they came, piercing the ground and disappearing from sight.
"Boom!"
After the figures hit the ground, the werewolf heard the sounds of battle, his pupils contracting in fear. He hadn't expected the vampire to die so easily, and their reinforcements seemed outmatched by Robert.
The werewolf's fear grew, realizing Robert might be even more terrifying than they thought. The vampire's desperate message might never get out.
Alongside fear, the werewolf felt regret and resentment. If not for the gang member calling them here, they wouldn't have encountered such a terrifying opponent...
He didn't question why Robert was targeting them. As dark creatures with blood-stained hands, they couldn't complain if a powerful being like Robert found them displeasing. In the dark world, strength rules.
"Who are you, really?" a man in an old-fashioned tailcoat, floating in the air, asked Robert seriously. "Does our blood race have a grudge with you? If so, perhaps we can resolve it..."
"Not bad strength. You could barely count as a Hell King. Tell me, where do you rank in your blood race?" Robert asked, raising an eyebrow at the floating man. This man's strength was much higher than the previous three vampires, but Robert was curious about the strongest in their race.
"My strength wasn't originally this great. After our ancestor revitalized our line, I reached my current level. Hell King strength is good, but in front of our ancestor, it's nothing!" The man's eyes showed caution as he spoke slowly, subtly threatening Robert.
"Ancestor? The one mentioned earlier?" Robert asked the trembling werewolf.
"Yes, we all agree our ancestor is the true strong one. Even other bloodline founders like Dracula and Cain couldn't match him!" The werewolf nodded. Even with reinforcements, he dared not hide anything from Robert, seeing the situation.
"So chaotic, so many ancestors in the blood race? If Morbius developed his own line, he'd be considered a founder too..." Robert mused, understanding the significance of different origins.
Different vampires had similar abilities but fundamentally differed due to their varied origins. Apart from Morbius, whose transformation was accidental, the other vampires likely had different powerful beings behind them.
Supernatural powers often came with a price, like the Shadow Hunters Robert had seen, created by angels. Similarly, these vampires' various branches likely resulted from different dimensional manipulations.
"So, you can take me to meet... Hmm? Someone else is coming?" Robert said, ready to capture the floating man and make him lead the way to their ancestor.
If he could find other vampire ancestors like Dracula and Cain, that would be ideal, allowing him to encounter various powerful beings.
Since their ancestor dismissed Hell Kings, perhaps he was at the Hell Lord level. Robert couldn't fight the strongest Hell Lords yet, but he could dominate the weaker ones!
"Swish!" As Robert spoke, the floating man also turned towards the new presence. A robust man emerged from the shadows, exuding extraordinary power, with an aura somewhat similar to vampires.
"Are you a vampire too? Your aura differs a bit but resembles the ones I've seen before," Robert noted, seeing his fourth type of vampire, counting Morbius.
"Blade, are you crazy? I told you, the one who killed your mother isn't from our line. Why target us? You should know we're foreigners, unrelated to you!" The man in the air addressed Blade with narrowed eyes, indicating they knew each other and had a grudge.
"Haha, March, do you think I'm only hunting vampires for revenge? You filthy bats are covered in innocent blood. I don't care about your factions; you all deserve death!" Blade's eyes gleamed with cold light as he spoke to March.
"So lively. My fishing caught a cormorant along with the fish? But how can he threaten this March?" Robert thought, amused by the unfolding drama.
Robert sensed Blade's strength wasn't formidable, akin to Morbius's level. Alone, he couldn't match a Hell King...
